Is Dunkeld top section only 28%?

Oops, did i fail, oh dear. Well, what about the Craigvinean downhill at Dunkeld. Top section is very steep and bottom sections steep. It has a beginning, an end and if you’re awesome, flow.

What about the path off the Aonach Eagach ridge heading towards the Clachaig Inn. That’s insanely steep, i’ve never ridden down it, i struggled walking down that path. Actually any trail on a Munro are probably the steepest well used trails. Lots of data online for them.

I have a set of Mattoc Comps 27.5 which have been well used for 4 months. Fitted to a Stereo 160, “puke green”. The comps are not anything new regarding damping as they are fitted with a Mars damper. Still nice though, very plush and sit up in their travel. They feel stiff enough for me and track well. I am going to upgrade to a set of experts or pros when more long term results come through. It’s not possible to install a expert/pro damper as the threads are different.
I’ve had them on natural trails, flat through steep, trail centres and dh tested on the Dunkeld classic dh.
I have a few niggles. Specific tools are required to service them, which aren’t cheap considering it’s 3 sockets. They are very easy to service once you have the tools.
Not much room between tyre and fork arch for a mudguard and it’s a pain to fit due to the reverse arch, can be done though.
Not much service info on Hayes group site for the comps, actually none, you’ll have to email Hotlines or Manitou for specific details. I eventually used a combination of the Mattoc guide and the Minute expert guide.
I would recommend a set of Mattocs, they function well, are easy to service and a bit different to the Pike invasion.

Oh aye, and 510s’, no contest. Very comfy shoe/boot for riding and pushing. They get wet very easily though, just show them a puddle and they’re soaking.

I’ve used Superstar Nanos and found them to be a very good pedal for the price. They were reliable and spun freely until i sold them on.
I use Vaults now and will stay on Vaults, they are lovely.
Bargain option could be, a set of Wellgo V8 copies and skate shoes 🙂

I ordered a bike online, a Cube Stereo, from Ubyk. At the time i ordered all new Stereos were the same price, i ordered with Ubyk as they were offering free DMR Vaults, a very decent pedal for nowt :-)Bike was showing as available in 3-4 days. I placed my order and then phoned Ubyk to check when it would be delivered. Staff were friendly and knowledgable, they reckoned the bike would be delivered in 6 days as it would be built up in there workshop, checked over and then delivered on to me. It arrived in 5 days in good condition, exactly as described on the website, delivered by TNT. I’m in East Central Scotland.
