Go for the better prospects / more money but bank the extra cash, or you’ll be trapped by golden handcuffs and won’t be able to downscale if you don’t like the extra pressure or have kids and want to spend less time working.

I went to see Primal Scream at Brixton Academy. Bobbie Gillespie gave us the news from the stage.

Mine is going to it’s new home today. It’s been brilliant, and I know I’m going to miss it. Buy a good one though, I have to laugh at the post above asking where to buy a good one for less than a grand !

I said I would report back when and if I heard anything, and can report that I have received a refund of 50% of what I paid into my bank today.

Oakley used to have a very good reputation for customer service, I’d be surprised if they don’t deal with your problem in a professional manner.

The JVC I bought from dabonwheels was £100, and comes with a free “get you started” dab aerial. Depending on where you live that might well be enough. It does AM/FM as well.

FWIW I hadn’t been refunded, told Dave this over a week ago, and have heard nothing since.

I bought an excellent JVC DAB from dab on wheels[/url] a month or so ago. About £150 with a proper aerial. Can’t fault it, wish I’d bought one ages ago.

Many years ago (1982 ?) I had one of those ghetto blaster radio cassette things. I switched from tape to radio, and the radio (which was randomly tuned on medium wave) was playing the same Zappa track, in the same place, as the tape I’d just turned off..

Your budget would certainly buy a tidy Merc E190 – have a look here . As others have said, it’s not all about speed. I’ve owned three 911’s. three Clio 182’s, various Golf Gti’s, Intrgra Type R etc etc over the years. What do I drive ? a Berlingo. I love it. For what it’s worth, the object of desire for me at the moment is this.

whereas car 2 is presumably ex fleet and been well looked after. It’s also a private sale with no comeback if things go wrong and a year older – at your mileage the age is more of a factor than the mileage, at 10 years old car 2 will still have <140k, which isn’t all that much even for a modern petrol

    This.

Why would you need to discus it?

I’ve had a little think, and I can’t think what this would have to do with you at all. However, as you’ve asked, I wanted to discuss how best to combine his program with the one I was already undertaking, the details of which I had supplied to him. In addition, part of the program involved me updating him of my progress on a weekly basis, after which he was to advise any modifications to the plan. As I was unable to discuss any of these issues, the program was less use than I had hoped, and the backup was nonexistent, hence Dave promising a refund.

Dave has been in contact today, saying he believes he refunded me in September, and asking me to check with my bank. This I will do, but I can’t do it online as I can only view transactions from 29th Sept onwards, so I’ll have to go into my branch. Should I discover that I have had a refund and inadvertently missed it, I will certainly post on here to let any interested parties know.

For what it’s worth, my complaint is that although I did receive a program, I had absolutely no opportunity to discuss it at all, so was unable to ask any questions or modify it to suit me at all. If it was a good program or not is hard to say, but the trainers in my local gym were concerned that I should follow it without any backup. In the end I used part of Dave’s program along with my existing gym program.

I can’t comment on any personal trouble Dave has experienced.

    The Sand-Dancer, Barmouth.

(But not in a good way)

Legend has it that the bus between here and Dolgellau was good for some “entertainment” on the way back. Any stories ?

I haven’t had a day off sick for years, so no, I wouldn’t feel guilty as I’m not a skiver. The tricky bit for me is that the handbook says I must phone my manager within an hour of my start time (8am) and he doesn’t start until 9.

Looking at his twitter account he’s still having phone troubles. Yeah, right.

Well I think it’s a fair question. I’m not asking anyone to reply apart from those affected. I’d rather like my money back, that’s all.

Some of us paid for training programmes which, to a greater or lesser degree, failed to materialize. Excuses were made, refunds were promised.

Just read the messages on MTB Batteries and would like to say that (a) it’s a couple of months since I last tried them for these items and I’m not complaining, and (b) I’m sorry for your loss Smudge.

Tried mtb batteries a few times as that’s where my lights came from, but no joy. If I can’t find any connectors the extension cable route is a good plan, never thought of that…

Hi-fi is one of the best investments I’ve ever made, I’ve had more soul enriching value for money out of hi-fi and bikes than any other things I’ve ever bought. Hopefully this will continue, as my new Streamer arrives on Tuesday…
