That’s lovely looking bike and I like it, but I would change the silver seatpost for black to match stem and bars, still a sweet bike.

Sorry about your loss, hope the bikes wiil be returned back to you, keep your eyes out for local gumtree and ebay, Bristol is a bad place for bikes as scums always nicking them there, my sister lives there and had her bike nicked just before xmas. 😡

BTW, I hate Bristol, a filthy hole.

I would Genesis with 853 tubing as it’s lighter and cheaper than the Ragley, Genesis frames are very good imo.

I just liked the simple straight forward set up with Windows XP was hoping to find the classic set up somewhere in Windows 7, I am no computer geek. Feeling stressed with it already! 😆

For me it’s Newport in South Wales, a very backward place, a major city will be London, hated everything about the city, it’s depressing hole.

@ mountainman123, I have no idea the frame weigh but it’s just over 28lbs without the pedals, I guess it will be over 29lbs with pedals on, btw frame is 18″

    Cheers all

I think the average is around the 1 hour mark on a good day.

Anyone who did in 30 mins, I bet they have no energy to do another loop afterwards! lol

Who cares about timing, just ride what you feel comfy and enjoy the ride, try get more than one loop, I always do aleast 2 loops before going home to make the drive worthwhile.

@ andyi46, that looked very nice bike and I like it, is there more room around the b/b area with the cranks especially the granny ring as the Whippet is having problems with Shimano SLX cranks by rubbing and taking the paint off with poor clearance and it’s 20″ frame?

I am just outside of Bath by 15 mins and wouldnt mind to see those trails if you guys are free for a ride one day, make a change of regular visits to Burrington Combe.

I was there last week riding with buzz-lightyear and snaps, it was my first proper ride at the Quantocks and there was some interesting trails there, I would like to see more of it again in the future, if anyone riding over there next month and I would like to come along.

I would get the Giant Anthem, I have one myself and love it, mine is 22″ frame with Shimano SLX groupset, Fox forks, Mavix 317 rims and it weigh 28lbs on the dot, if you are smaller, you can make it lighter than mine.

@jti26, hi and it was a good ride at the Quantocks, my first proper ride over there and weather was ace too, big thanks to snaps and buzz-lightyear showing me around.

I live just outside of Wells and do ride with the Wells bike shop on Tuesday evenings sometimes mostly in the spring to summer time, if you pop in the shop and ask them about it, they should be able tell you, I am planning to ride again with them next month when the evenings get lighter.

buzz-lightyear is a Wells man, top chap and friendly, maybe give him a call, I often ride over Burrington Combe and there is some guys here ride there alot including Shipham MTB, they ride on Thursday evenings, hope to have a ride with them in summer.(I can show you around Burrington Combe one day if you like)

There is a Giant Anthem on bottom section of Cwmcarn trail, cool video.

(how to put the youtube video on here without using the link?)

Cheers chaps for some good answers and funny jokes!

I previously owned steel 853 Genesis and ridden Cwmcarn alot, I did used to feel beaten up and sore back at the end of the day while first ride today on Anthem, no pain on back or beaten up so FS is the best for me.

Maybe spending two grand bike got me worried in fear of breaking it, I should chill out and enjoy the trail and bike.

    Thanks all 🙂

    Cheers for the replies.

@snaps, I could ride this Sunday as the weather forecast is good, if not maybe next weekend.

@sharki, I will free mostly in April apart two weekends in middle of the month (Newcastle stag’s do and Goodwood mtb race) A beer and a cake is on the menu for you if you show me a cracking loop.
