The frame I probably can but was trying to do everything in one go, I can’t be waiting round all day for a courier to turn up and I cycle into work so can’t get stuff picked up from work either. And the German package is just over their 4kg limit for normal parcels. I’m thinking of splitting them into two pkgs just so I can use RM
RaglanSurfFree MemberLoads of great suggestions, totally agree with Bob Mould (genius), 65 DaysofStatic, their recent London gig ended in a powercut, damn shame also Grizzly Bear although now they’ve been on Jules Holland they may not be that unknown for long. Screaming Tea Party, Over The Wall, Errors, vastly underated Modest Mouse, Apples In Stereo and another nod to Les Savy Fav and Yo Lo Tengo.
And bring on ATP this weekend, more underated bands than you can throw a stick at.
RaglanSurfFree MemberTo be honest, I wouldn’t describe gardening as a ‘shiity job’ but I would suggest getting a proper job definition and breakdown of the service charge. if he’s not even weeding or clearing up then you are right he is taking the p*ss!
RaglanSurfFree MemberI worked on practically every race between 1997 -2002 for an Italian broadcaster and part of our job was to log everything interesting that happened in the race, in those days a very minor lock up or twitch was considered interesting, even a driver pulling off the visor strip, thats how dull it was. I developed what became known as ‘green light syndrome’ as soon as the race started and the initial excitement of the start was over I would invariably fall asleep as it was so dull. This season in comparison has had more action, overtaking and intrigue than those five years put together. If they continue to improve the sport like this then IMHO in can only be a good thing.
RaglanSurfFree MemberExactly right grumm, if however you would like to tie it in to bike related fraud then it would of course be acceptable.
RaglanSurfFree MemberI’ve got a 73 Bay and wouldn’t part with it but as the other have said they can be a bit of a money pit and the best and worst aspect is the time it takes to get anywhere.
Nothing gives me greater satisfaction than seeing the enormous queue of cars in my rear view mirror as I chug gently round twisty turny country roads looking over hedges at the beautiful countryside on the other hand it does also seriously restrict how far you can go for a weekend away without spending a ridiculous amount of time behind the wheel. Great fun though 😉
If I was to buy one now I would probably go for a 2litre T25, still quirky but with a little bit more space and speed.RaglanSurfFree MemberI’m just waiting for my Aspire One to arrive, really interested in the battery from Amazon, is it external and how much was it?
RaglanSurfFree MemberCup of tea, bowl of Shreddies (hand knitted by Grannies) and a fruit smoothie (banana and strawberry), it’s only about 10-11 miles but I can’t ride without breakfast. then when I get to work I have a a bagel with honey and another banana and cup of tea.
RaglanSurfFree MemberAlthough Hackett wasn’t part of the line up I did see Gabriel appear with Genesis at the Six of the Best concert at the Milton Keynes Bowl in 1982, and coincidentally Talk Talk were on the bill as well although they weren’t particularly well received by the impatient crowd. I seem to remember more than a few bottles flying in their direction.
Would love to see the Smiths perform and probably The Jam but I think Weller’s past it.
RaglanSurfFree MemberJova54, If you’re interested I’ve got my Dad’s Nikon Coolscan LS-30 for sale. I was about to put it onto evilbay for him but if you’re interested I’m sure he’d prefer to sell without using the ‘bay’.
I’m in west London if that helps.
RaglanSurfFree MemberThat’s about average nowadays. as Marsdenman says Peak Imaging are good. Snappy Snaps are OK if it’s nothing too important. But you need to check what your local branch is like because they vary a lot. My local one is not too bad, Dev and put onto CD is about £10 and that’s for a 1hr turnaround.
RaglanSurfFree MemberWickes do a bathroom/kitchen sealant remover. It comes in a tube like mastic, squeeze it on, leave it for a while then wipe off. You never know it might work on wheel sealant too.
RaglanSurfFree MemberIt’s pretty good most of the time, it’s reasonably cheap and the ability to record a whole series like Sky is really useful.
RaglanSurfFree MemberI went to Courmayeur in Italy in January, ski and boot hire £70 Lift pass £190 for 6 days, I didn’t even consider the lessons at £40 a pop. Cheapest beer 5 euros and paid a hefty £17.50 for 2 beers and a cappuccino in a very ordinary bar in the town not even on the mountain.
We stayed in the chalet most nights after that,
But the slopes were fantastic and at times it was like having my own private pistes so I suppose you get what you pay for, it beats so called cheapo Borovets in Bulgaria where I went last year hands down.
RaglanSurfFree MemberYosh, Union or no union I would take some professional advice on this.
Isn’t it strange that we have been so panicked by the media that people are saying things like
I didn’t mind (too much) the first 10% cut
Please don’t get me wrong I am more than aware of the current situation and appreciate that people are worried about their jobs but when companies start all this take it or leave it malarky we know we’re heading for problems.
I know unions are by no means perfect and some are pretty toothless but there is some security to be had, at least as far as bargaining goes.
As someone who experienced first hand the cock-ups in the 70’s and in the 80’s you and everyone else suffering through this have my sympathy best of luck.
RaglanSurfFree MemberIt really is stuff like that needs to be talked through before you agree to any change in conditions, also is the cut acroos the board from director to the lowest paid. I’m sure there are a lot of companies out there that are struggling but I am equally convinced that there are some unsrupulos companies that are using the ‘fear factor’ to cut costs and reduce the quality of working conditions.
RaglanSurfFree MemberFirstly, Sue I hope you find someone I would loved to have done somethoing like this when I was younger.
As for all the moans about slave wages, well I’ve just come back from a week in Courmayeur (yes it did cost me quite a bit of money but I worked bloody hard for it and i’m self employed so no-one pays me holiday pay) and it was fantastic, 99% of the chalet staff did a fantastic job, they were cheery, efficient and seemed to be making the most out of their time in Italy. They didn’t appear to be being sponsored by ‘Daddy’ I’m sure a few of them would have been and some them were just there between Uni and work or just between jobs, some of them were working the skiing season and were then off to a summer resort to do the same sort of thing. But I have no complaints about any of them, apart from when the chef overslept and had locked the kitchen and we had to wait for breakfast, oh well you can’t have everything.
So anyway, if they were getting food and lodging and ski pass, which was £190 for 6 days in Courmayeur and £100 to spend I personally don’t think that’s too bad.
RaglanSurfFree MemberOver the years of mountain-biking, always last down the hill, climbing and most recently skiing, I have finally discovered that at the grand old age of 50 …
adrenalin is not my drug of choice
RaglanSurfFree MemberI’m a freelance video editor, things are a little quiet but I’m ticking over at the moment and managing to pay the bills. It is quiet but that could all change with a phone call, after all people watch more telly when they can’t afford to go out.
RaglanSurfFree MemberOK I’m going to give this a go, I was about 11st7llbs last time I looked so will dig out the scales. Would like to lose a stone at least.
