New dropper from Oneup arrived today and what a difference! Compresses easily, moves smooth and returns quick with a thunk definitely know its a full extension now, even the lever action is lighter.

Contacted the shop I ordered from about a warranty and they said I could send it back to them and they would deal with it but it would be quicker if I deal directly with Oneup. Filled out the warranty form on Saturday and on Monday had email telling me a new post is being sent out. And got a returns label to send back the old post.

Can’t fault their customer service, just wish the first dropper had worked like this one.

    Happy with it now though.

A little update from me, took the post apart and cleaned/re greased it. the lower bushes seem to be causing the problems even without the cartridge in its hard to get the upper to slide.

Going to nurse it through this weekend then see what my options are for warranty, I don’t know whether to go straight to Oneup or through the shop I bought it.

Just been messing round with it and somethings not right, the cable pull is fine and even out of the bike the return is slow with a soft top out, starts quicker then slows before full extension. I unscrewed the top cap and slid the top bush up and cycled the post a few times and it definitely takes less force to move and returns at a speed closer to the vids I’ve seen. And it is filthy inside, even feels gritty (after 3 rides)

Not selling but I still regret not getting a Commencal Acid when they were cheap at the tail end of the fixie craze but didn’t want/need another bike. Would be perfect for my commute now though, still trawl ebay every few of weeks hoping to find one.

How or where is it broke?

I use this at work sometimes and I’m always surprised at how good it is.

not sure how suitable it is for that plastic though.

Are the tickets digital or do they post out a wrist band or something? I was thinking of just driving up for Sunday but think it might be too late now.

I’ve been putting off entering, not sure if I’ll get car out of garage in time, Did the Hillbilly enduro a couple of weeks ago did ok but felt like a lack of fitness was holding me back and this one is definitely a bigger day out.

Does anyone know how the PMBA works, no practice on Saturday because of the women’s race? Practice and one race run on Sunday? Racing blind?

    Just got A Maxxis tyre delivered from Merlin (DHR2 3C Exo+ 29×2.4) £49.99

Not a great saving but cheapest I could see and needed as the side knobs on my old one a clinging on for dear life.

No retail packaging and a white Maxxis logo, must have been taken off a new bike. I was so close to buying a pair of Kryptotals because the thought of having white and yellow Maxxis logos was making me twitch, I’m at ease now.

Pretty sure I’ll be doing none of that

I can imagine about velosolutions, I finish work before 1 on Fridays so used to go to the indoor skatepark and literally had the place to my self for 2 hours un till the schools emptied, it was bliss.

And as a little bonus Treds are selling a matching front brake for £20 Sram level probably not a great brake but good enough to start.

Hope its not just the hose

I’m in Glasgow so got the velosolutions pumptrack a short drive or the Knightswood Olympic center has a pumtrack outside and the clydebank BMX track are both within riding distance of my house.

I’ve got the Dakine hot laps 5L with the 2L bladder. Got it because my last bike couldn’t take a bottle. With 2L of water in it feels like it wants to roll down rather than slide, just need to keep the strap uncomfortably  tight. 1L is ok. Only really have a couple of tools phone keys and a snack in, it does feel really big but yet can’t actually fit that much in it.

It’s good enough not great but not bothered enough to try to find something better.

Well the BMX is up for sale now (Not a stealth ad) tried to sell it before but always keep it, it just looks so good.

I was never that good on it even when I did ride it regularly but it’s been so long now it’s like starting all over again.

Will probably just use my big bike for everything ( probably more beneficial) and not get a  jump bike.

    But I could

    But I won’t

    But I maybe I should.

Yep left on the car which I know will make things worse, but even when I used to take them off and on when not in use and keep indoors they’d freeze on after driving somewhere so never really seemed worthwhile if they’re going to freeze anyway.

At least the car brakes are working, bit late to go biking now though.

If you want some unsolicited cyberpunk advice i’d say try not to get sidetracked near the start and do main story missions until Keanu turns up or after “the heist” but its really hard to do as the city at the start is a tangled mess of spaghetti streets designed to get you lost and the day night cycle makes it seem like two different cities.

I thought the Calisto Protocol was a falling down simulator  it was ridiculous the amount of times you’d fall 5 floors just to climb back up and fall through them again and again.

I’d agree with what tetrode said about cyberpunk just finished my second play through, I spent an embarrassing amount of hours in it imagine a cross between Fallout and GTA and you’ll understand so will probably take a break from the PS5 for a while.

Or until “Still wakes the deep” comes out, a horror game set on a north sea oil rig in the 70’s

The rain could make things interesting

Anybody watching on GCN+ via chromecast the audio always about 5 seconds out every time I’ve used it, it’s really annoying.

Just got back from the watching in the city center, I thought I’d take a quick run in on my bike, that was a mistake, could barely move and couldn’t really see anything.

My skyline pant trousers arrived today, ordered on Friday night! I miss when chain reaction used to be like this all the time.

They fit me ok, I’d say the waist is smaller than one pair of 34 shorts I have the legs are quite loose definitely more relaxed the my Fox flexair and longer length as well.

Not convinced on the clay colour looks better in the pics but for 40 quid they’ll do for playing in the mud on my bike.

Thanks for this you just cost me £40

Ordered the 34 in clay so will see how they go.

I’ve got 4 pairs of skyline shorts from over the years and they all fit different I’ve got a mix of 32 and 34, I seem to always be in between sizes so just have to try on and see what fits.

I lost mine once after changing a flat.

    I used http://www.evoautomotive.com

Sent them a pic of the locking nut on the wheel and make of car and they told me the code I needed to order for the right one, wasn’t cheap (the price of stupidity i suppose) but I got it next day.

the site looks dodgy but they were really helpful.

I just got a Shimano kit from epic bleed solutions and wouldn’t recommend.
I’ve had a few kits from them over the years and have been fine but they use the cheapest of cheap syringes now they don’t even have the rubber seal in the plunger so they stick it makes bleeding a pain and their bleed block just falls through the caliper.

Hi, yeah, the more I play the more I’m liking them but nearly went back the day got them because of that bloody App, it’s ok now but it took me a couple of hours to get it to connect! I’m drowning in settings, full on option paralysis but its fun.
I know what you mean about glasses, I don’t think they sound that great as headphones not bad but not £280 worth I know they’re designed for guitar as well so there will be compromises I got some Soundmagic earbuds and I’d rather use them for music

Ok, so I went and ordered the Waza Air.
I thought I’d treat myself to something that isn’t food, rent or petrol for the first time this year. I don’t really go gear crazy (or so i keep telling myself) I’ve only got the one guitar, 07 american std Strat, maple neck in charcoal frost metallic, a 5watt champ clone, a TC ditto, hof 2 mini and Fulltone OCD.

Anyone tried both the Boss Waza Air and the Fender Mustang Micro?

I seem to be using my Vox amplug more and more but it’s really uninspiring sounding and tiring on the ears after about 20 min.

I Like the idea of the plug and play of the Fender but worried I’d be limited for sounds but then there’s too much in the boss that I would probably never use.

No layering or jacket just effort to keep warm on short rides.
Small frame pack? Yuck! don’t even want to enduro tape an inner tube to frame, and would still need a bottle.
the Evoc ones look good but probably more than I want to spend.
CRC seen to have put the price up £10 on the podium flow since yesterday

I played Death stranding not long after it came out (finished it but doubt I’ll ever replay it)
I couldn’t recommend it to anyone it’s very polarizing.
If your a fan of Kojima and his over the top nonsensical storylines then give it a go, I liked the quieter bits where you are just walking from A to B up hills admiring the scenery, it’s good looking game but those bits don’t last long.
And I’m a fan of Metal Gear Solid btw.

Managed to order a PS5 from Game this morning after a 45min queue (Ratchet and clank bundle) but they’re not being sent out till the 28th so still have to wait, off work next week as well.

    Apparently,
Argos is selling tonight after 1am.
Amazon has a load of stock in but I’d guess there waiting for prime day.

In glasgow so only about 20 min from the cinema. I did think it was a bit of a big ask to go in the day your phoned.
Most people that I’ve asked about it say “yep, it’s a joke”
In the before times my brother was selected but not picked he said it was two mornings of hanging around then sent away before lunch.

There is a hotline, the after 5pm one that said both last night and on sunday that you don’t go in until they phone you in the morning and give you a time to attend unless they haven’t contacted you by 1:30 phone the hotline again after 5.
It’s given me the impression that soon as they phone me I need to drop everything and go in, I’m probably wrong but this is the part that’s confusing me.
They phoned me earlier and said my name is in the ballot for tomorrow again and probably will be up to tuesday.
The documents the posted out are 8 pages of covid distancing guidelines and not really that helpful.

I’ll just go back in to work tomorrow and if I need to leave I’ll have to, not usually allowed phones in sure they’ll make an exception

You should read The World Without Us by Alan Weisman. Great read, ficks between what the world would be like if humans never existed and if they disappeared overnight.

I’ve got a Vox amplug the clean version it’s ok for what it is, a practice tool for late night, but the headphone cable always seems to get in the way wherever you put it. There just a bit too expensive, if they were £20ish it’d be great.

I don’t use it so much now as I bought a little 5w Fender Champ clone kit and really like it, perfect bedroom amp. This one
