I got one a couple of months back and im pretty happy with it. Its less hassle to use than my previous go outdoors one and the straps do a good job of securing the bike to the rack although they did chip the paint slightly prob cos i had em too tight i now put a bit of inner tube on the frame where the straps go. I got a saris bones 3 even though i only ever carry 2 bikes cos if you put one at the front and other at the back it keeps em a good distance apart so they dont bash together also some full suss frames wont go over the arms so check before you buy

Before i got my cousins post out he took it to two decent bike shops in the lakes 1 tried (not sure how) and failed and the other would not touch it incase they trashed the frame dont blame them either

You can also wrap the top of the blade in insulation tape to form a handle. if you measure how far in the post is then place a piece of tape at the same depth on the blade so you dont cut past it into the frame. Oh and a torch helps

My cousin had this problem a few weeks back with his scott genius and for some reason i said id have a go at getting it out. I did as sambob said and cut the seatpost an inch above the seat tube then with a hacksaw blade carefully put two cuts down the post to make a chanel then crushed it with mole grips and pulled it out. It was a proper ball ache and i was constantly aware i could trash his frame if i cut into it. Luckily its fine

Anyone who makes out its to be expected because they cost less than lbs is full of sh** they dont say on their website we are cheap so the bike may be set up badly

Defo gt and inner for me did not enjoy dalby at all its too long with no great features to make it worth the slog.

Ive been a window fitter for 13 years and also time served joiner and would agree with avoiding the big companies cos there full of sh** smaller local recomended companies are the way to go and a good window fitter will do a better job than a builder obviously

Spoke to merlin yesterday about changing them to crown lockout and you cant apparently cos the cartridge is different. You can do away with the pop lock by capping it off on the crown which i will be doing
