have a look at Google sheets which is part of the Google office package? It’s only online or offline via Android tablet, but it seems to work perfectly well

By the way, when we’re on the topic of tent upgrades that make your life a lot easier. I would definitely suggest getting a fitted carpet… It just makes the whole experience much nicer. Remote control lights are my second option – there’s nothing like being snug in your sleeping bag and being able to press a button and turn the lights off.

Regarding having two tents, I’m just on the lookout for a five or six man tent (for the 4 of us) . Probably also from robens for exactly the same purpose so that we have a small festival tent for when we’re only there for one night

My apologies at the campsites I’ve been to most people put them up with an electric pump. I Assumed this was how they all worked

    Thank you for the correction

We have a robens Kiowa 11man tent and it sleeps 4 people very comfortably

You really need to take the numbers of people that “fit” with a pinch of salt.

We used to have tents that had a standard tube design and this time I decided to swap to a bell tent as I wanted the Headroom. I’m really happy with it and as it is canvas it breathes, coupled with the roof vents. It’s really smart tent that is quite pleasant to spend time in if it’s raining.

One thing I would say about the air tents, is that you need to make sure that you have a power source that can pump It up. This is great if you can get your car next to the tent, but for example at a festival you will need to invest in some kind of battery power. That’s the other reason why I went for a belt end as I can pitch it anywhere.

If I was going to buy again I would stay with robens but I might go for one of the bell tents with an a-frame entrance as then you can very easily hook a tarp straight onto the front. The Kiowa is great but the entrance could be longer. I bought a tarp which I think I can jury rig on to the front and I’ll test that in a few months time.

I had / have a pair of meindl boots that use faux leather that fell apart within 6 months. The soles delaminated from the false leather

If it helps I had venison burgers for tea :)

Despite they are in an urban setting I believe it could be possible to control them – if you took the shot from high to low and if your garden was large enough (and dependent on the species of deer) it could be possible. This is assuming you have someone with the right tickets etc

That being said I would look at higher fences and perhaps running an electric fence wire on top ?

By the way, if anybody is interested in one of the 5.11 backpacks, I have a spare one brand new in packaging which is surplus to need. When you couldn’t get them in the UK. I ordered them from different locations assuming I could cancel one and they turned up simultaneously. My spare one is in sage green and I have the 5.11 3l bladder as well

I have been using the 5.11 tactical cloudstryke pack in 10L – I have run a marathon and many, many halves wearing it and it’s perfect. Really recommended

They’re probably going to need to just be picked. Those kind of locks are normally very simple, wafer locks and can be raked relatively easily

Perhaps look on Facebook for a local lock picking club?

Aah last question then – slime and tyre sealant aren’t tbe same thing ? So I would be best getting the slime out and swapping it now whilst it’s still vaguely liquid ?

Eventually I put slime in them and then pumped them up and went for a ride

That was 24 hrs ago and they seem fine !

    Thanks all

I have the hope fortus sc’s on my trail bike and they are lovely – wife has the DT swiss 1900’s on hers and she hasn’t complained

Both have a thumbs up from me

Thank you. I will give that a go

They aren’t going completely flat, but they’re going very squishy to the touch

If the latest attempt has gone down by the morning I think I will just go back to tubes. On my mountain bikes I’ve never had a problem, these WTB rims just do not want to seal. The factory supplied and fitted tape also leaked!

It’s not just milk, my wife commented that a few years ago we used to do a weekly shop – now we have to do 2 min per week as things just don’t last. I have a suspicion it’s Brexit related and the red tape delaying imports

Indeed they are but I was hoping if someone could tell me the difference between flat and post mount ?

    quentyn

And just to confirm I just need flat mount options not post mount ? No adaptors needed ?

Thanks – do I literally unbold the Shimano caliper – unbolt the line and rebolt / reconnect the hydraulic line ? Then bleed and re align the caliper ?

Regarding shops not offering sale bikes on c2w scheme purchases – I had this experience in a specialized concept store. I was told that the 60% off the bike wasn’t applicable as I wanted to use a c2w voucher

I went elsewhere that did offer c2w on end of season discounts

It’s not the cable being too tight is it ? Does it lock if the cable tension is released completely?

Thanks for the link to the banana industries. That page I have just ordered some new tires and a saddle. I didn’t need the tires but they are orange which is the colour scheme of my bike :)

Can I ask how fit you are? When I first started running about a year ago, I could easily hit 195 on a 5K run, especially in the last kilometre if I was giving it some beans. Now I’m an awful lot fitter and I find that my heart rate while running stabilises about 150 and I can occasionally push it to 185 if I really put the hammer down. Give and I’ve been training for a marathon for what seems like forever, I don’t think my heart’s gone above 175 in months.

One of my friends is relatively unfit and on what I thought was a gentle jog, he managed to hit 190….

Another thing to bear in mind, is the only thing that gives you an accurate reading are the chest straps. Sometimes my wife’s watch (if she’s not using her chest strap) can give some very strange readings

Do running shoes count ? I seem to get through a pair every 3 months as they don’t last more than 750km

i have it ! have only ridden it around the carpark as the weather was horrible and i had to hit the m4 before the traffic

for what i need at the moment 10×2 speeds seems fine

i see that the rear cassette is tiagra 11-34t – can someone with more shimano fu tell me if there is a quick upgrade path but keeping to 10 speed and the gearing to 11-34 ? i have googled and i think 105 is the one higher and ultegra higher than that but the weight of 105 seems to be where i should go ? is it like the difference between deore and XT ? deore is OK but XT is crisp and lighter ?

thanks all i think i will just get it and ride it :) really its for commuting which my mountain bike was meant for but err i got annoyed by being out of range on the gears and having people on road bikes smoke me up the hills :)

Seems that Garmin had a global outage this morning, earlier this week I noticed that it was taking ages for runs to appear in Strava, so I think this problem has been going on for a while. Hopefully it’s all done now

A few years ago one of the newspapers pushed the story that due to Brexit old people were going to be conscripted to pick fruit. I managed to convince my parents that they were going to be conscripted to pick fruit. Which given that they are generally in favour of conscription was surprising that they were not in favour of this…..

    I make my own from

    100g sunflower seeds

    100g dried peaches

    100g biltong

Grind each up in the blender and then combine. Make into bars and shove in the oven at 140 for 10 mins to dry them off (else they are greasy)

Low sugar, complex carbs and salt from the biltong

Seem to last a few months (I wrap each bar in tinfoil)

    Another vote for omron

I have the one that has a big switch to allow 2 people to record results but the basic one that just shows the result is what my GP uses (and they are about £20)
