Pro 2 definitely, no need for a bell…

I have a 21″ P7 and a 20″ 5, they have the same ETT, so with the same stem/bars on they do feel quite similar in set-up.

It is very simple: you don’t need a licence to own a TV or a PC or a mobile phone or anything else, whether or not they are capable of receiving transmissions is completely irrelevant.

Rudeboy as usual is talking rubbish. You don’t need a licence for having receiving equipment, the only thing you require a licence for is actually receiving broadcast transmissions.

Take a spare stem and swap it over as required…?

If you took a rider who could handle the black run at llandegla and took them to an alpine/scottish/other black run and set them off they’d be seriously underestimating the technical difficulty, therein lies the problem.

Has this problem ever actually arisen? Surely people are capable of realising that not all black runs are created equal, what happens to the poor confused lambs when they venture onto bridleways that don’t have a grading?

There are 4 trails at llandegla, hence blue/green/red/black. They could call them all blue, but that would get confusing.

Thanks for the warning, I’d be happy to expect the stuff I ordered on sunday not to turn up, unfortunately it arrived this morning…

Depends which brakes you have, the bleed nipple on the new tech calipers is smaller than they used to use.

All this talk of de-tuning and unplugging arials is rubbish, if you aren’t watching or recording broadcast TV then you don’t need a licence.

Plus postage, and doesn’t include tubes and rim tape…

I have four sets of hope brakes, the newer silver and black ones have been very reliable, the the older black/gold ones seem a bit more temperamental. If anything does go wrong they are very easy to work on.

Hope M4’s, pads can be taken out the back of the caliper, lots of power. Not cheap though!

    Unless it’s changed for X2s

It has changed, at least it has on my tech4’s, the retaining pin is now threaded and screws into the caliper.

    Great brakes though!

Poorly conceived biased ranting != lots of useful info

Bedding in for performance is obviously true, stick some new pads in and the brakes don’t work as well for a while. That’s why manufacturers suggest bedding pads in.

Bedding in for longevity is something else altogether, and far less plausible.

The X9 has a bearing, it does have a tendency to seize.

Hmmm, having just taken an X7 mech to bits, it does seem that the X7 jockey wheels should fit an X9 mech.

the bottom one should fit, the top one won’t.

Assuming you have a HT2 BB You could get yourself one of these and do it yourself, it is really very easy.

I got a couple of cheap S8’s off merlin, thay had ropey steel bearings and weren’t as well sealed as a proper S8. You could argue they are still ok for 20 quid, I’d say you are better off getting an FSA XLII though.

    You don’t need them now.

You don’t need a bike at all, just go for a nice walk instead.

The black route is black because it is harder than the red, it’s just a relative scale for the trails at that particular location. Given that there is a thread every couple of weeks about how un-technical llandegla is it’s amazing anyone goes there expecting it to be something it isn’t…

Marple, hayfield, chinley is the plan.

You’ll do well to get a proper S8 with stainless steel bearings for 20 quid, better off with an FSA XLII for that sort of money.

OEM S8’s are less well sealed than proper ones, as well as having non-stainless bearings. I bought a couple of S8’s off merlin that turned out to be OEM ones, that was a while ago though, maybe they are selling proper ones now…

Interesting to see the moral outrage at licence fee evasion (which is largely just going to fund the BBC, and the prodigous coke habits of its employees), compared to the lack of outrage directed at the evasion of import tax on bike components, despite this being proper tax which might actually get spent on something useful.

your TV doesnt pay for the BBC, its a licence to ow TV recieving equipment.

This is completely untrue. You only need a licence if you are receiving live broadcast signals, it is nothing to do with what equipment you possess.

You do get used to it, I have been running one for about 4 months and it has been great so far.

It’s an on-one carbon rigid fork, looks like 2mm aluminium. Riding is fairly tame, with the odd rocky descent/set of steps. Caused by a loose headset…

so "fraction of" could mean "bigger than".

That would be an "improper fraction of".
