Probably worth getting one for the added confidence it gives you when riding drops and jumps.
The guy in the video below is using one. The only problem I can see with it is you need to lift it up to eat an apple. Doesnt seem to hold him back to much though.

Hmm, I see quite a lot of the work vans of brickies, sparks, plasterers etc parked up at trail centre car parks. Quite a few DHers I’ve met are tradesmen of some variety.
Funnily enough I’m middle class and most of those people earn way more than me and have fancier bikes. WGAF. :shrug:

Spit all ya want laddie, but 3 years down the line it will have worked out a lot cheaper, ie, maintenance, less pivots, more robust and at the end of it, holds its value VERY well. This all on top of it being the best hardcore trail bike money can find! The yt might be cheap but isn’t a patch on a am 5.

Please don’t take it to heart gemina! There’s no need for aggression! Your contradicting yourself there though because obviously it does matter what protection riders have on! I’m not suggesting that riders shouldn’t wear anything on there head! I’m just saying that a DH lid on a descent like that is way ott! And because of this walkers are more likely to laugh at u than be annoyed at u! They expect to see an engine on your bike.I see it all the time, wear what u want at the end of the day but this is my opinion! Btw, a tool is a usefull devise, I thank u! :lol:
