I blame the women to be honest, every time I sleep with a woman, about 1 out of 8 will make me wrap up, quite a passion killer but after I’ve shot me muck I feel glad I covered up, women should have more responsibility as its them who’ll be hosting the child! I’ve had clamidea a few times but that isn’t bad at all, in fact a common cold is worse and they give u a tablet to clear it anyway and free jonnys if u can be arsed wi em!

I suppose they shouldn’t have put the title “dudes” it’s giving the younger generation the wrong idea of what being cool is, if they had of put geeks there would have been no confusion!

This is without doubt a suitably fine effort to all those involved a credit to the biking community,
It makes for a great slice of quality Downhill trails, and without doubt more yet to come i hope from the merry men of sheffield…..

It’s people like u who’s giving the youngsters today the wrong idea of DH!!! Is it any wonder I keep seeing young lads all armoured up with full face, neck brace, full body suit!! Riding them kinda tracks in greno that I did 20 year ago on a **** Saracen hardtrack!!

Glad you enjoyed it, still a bit of work to be done in there, last trail to be finished, conecting bridleway to be made, bit of tweaking and signs to go up, but hoping it will be early in the new year!

I’m on about everything dh, xc, secret stuff. I’ aware of MX folk riding trails that exist and making a mess of them but not making trails.
    POSTED 1 HOUR AGO # REPORT-POST

Yeah they have carved some nice lines in on some of the stuff, my mate helps, he rides up it a few times then u have yer line, even help with the berms, makes it a whole load easier than having to dig it up! Yeah u prob aint seem some of the stuff, some new lines, one called ball buster, proper tech, u’ll enjoy it if u like yer riding tech, it’s on strava called ball buster next to the new xc descent, originally called twist it, mint! pussywillow I’m not aware of any of the trails I ride in the woods having been made by anyone but folks who ride bikes.
Motocross bikes are not allowed in the forest but cyclists are. There was a crack downa few years ago from the police on the use of motorbikes and it all died out for quite a while, guess its back now and another crack down will be needed.

Oil is oil at the end of the day. I just don’t want sticky oil, which engine oil will be.

    wwaswas – Member
if you get the right lube it won’t get washed off.
I’d rather pay more for lube and save wear and tear on my drivetrain, tbh.

Pinhead – excellent in my experience. I think the handling of my 130mm 29er is better than the 150mm 26er of the same make and model it replaced, especially on tech stuff.
What did you get Adam? And what was the 150mm 26er? Also, I’m trying to remember how tall you are – do you agree with the ’29ers are better for taller people’ thing?
No offence lad, but can u explain what u call tech????
I would say he is reasonably handy on a bike.
    POSTED 2 MINUTES AGO # REPORT-POST

And what would u call reasonably handy rider??
Steep Tight and technical riding has no place for a delicate 29r!

pussyW i was asking if i could do the 360 in 6months time?
but you reackon i should try a back flip before that? how soon before i get to back flip status?
    POSTED 8 MINUTES AGO # REPORT-POST

I really don’t know! How long is a piece of string?? It all depends on how much u practise and believe in yerself, but don’t fall into the trap that u think u need tuition!! That’s just bullshit! U need to learn confidence yourself without someone constantly telling ya! Good luck wi it mate! It will deffo make u a better rider!

Jedi does BMX coaching, great fun! I’m still pants though, only because I haven’t given myself the time to practice what he showed me
    POSTED 23 HOURS AGO # REPORT-POST

To be honest with ya lad, u’d be best saving yer money on a reet bmx an just practise practise and then practise! Tis the only way u’ll get better! People think that getting a coach will help them, and yeah it might to an extent but it’s all down to psychology, it’s in yer head that the coach has made u better…positive thinking, placebo affect! Confidence is the key here!
Pinhead if u want to learn the backflip then u must commit and go for it without hesitation!!! U can do it but u need to know u can do it before u attempt it! Maybe practice first in a foam pit! Good luck wi it lad!

Sure u will lad! My next trick is the back flip! 8)
I seen lads do it down at Wakefield bmx park, but think its best practising in the foam pit first!!!

Interestingly, I think there’s still only one of the ’29er evangelists’ who has answered the question about 650b.
If the bikes looks nice I personally wouldn’t rule it out, but 29″ works for me, the XL frames look normal. so why go backwards.

How the hell is not riding something that feels wrong to you going backwards!!!!

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again… A 29r is NOT designed for riding proper technical stuff, sure u could probly do it but it would feel wrong compared to a 26r, and before anyone pipes up with videos of free riders riding 29rs, they are getting paid to advertise it!!! ! There is a wide variation of “mountain biking” from xc to dirt jumping all having different geometrys and sizes, and a 29r fits in the cyclecross categories!
Everyone can ride what they want, I’m fine with that, but what’s pissing me off is the fact that in years to come I’m going to be struggling to find bits for my 26r! All because people like **** niche!!

    pussywillow

    It’s simple really- 29r is a cyclecross bike and a 26r is a mountain bike! 8)

Rode down off Snowdon yesterday, as the mountains were bathed in glorious autumnal sunshine, and I couldn’t look at any of it because I was trying not to plummet onto sharp rocks with my face. Most technical descent I’ve ever tried – loved it. Even if we did miss the trail back to Llanberis and had to ride 12 miles on the road.

I think there’s a lot of gullible people on here to be honest! Can’t any of you have your own mind about this issue without following and being a sheep! Well all I can say is it keeps people in a job talking nonsense about how a 29r rides better! Of course it’s going to roll better, why not get 32″wheels?? That will roll even better!

@op I don’t know if this thread is you winding us up or us winding you up!

It’s amusing for a wet Friday afternoon anyway.

BTW my first 29er was on the dirt last week. 26 is over. Have you heard?

The day that the 26″ dies is the day mountain biking dies!! I’m sorry to say but your doing cycle cross riding!
Would they still call it a bmx if they put 26″ wheels on??? No, I don’t think they would!
Please don’t call yourselves mountain bike riders when your riding a circus bike.

My point is im fed up of it being thrown in my face everywhere I look! It’s all bullshit, if you’ve got one then please dont consider it a mountain bike!….it’s a cycle cross bike, it’s like they think it’s up to them how they control us! And I won’t be one of the sheep! I am a true free rider baby! Hallelujah! 8)

Does the motor Bike industry do the same with off road bikes?
    POSTED 15 HOURS AGO # REPORT-POST

    Exactly!
They get a pro rider to advertise it, he rides it well (but would ride a 26r better) and so the middle class celeb wannabes fall for the hype and buy one cos they’ve too much money and they think that’ll make em just as gnar as the pro rider!!
    Thank you and god bless!

Actually I do dunk it in a nearby stream, river, canal at the end of a ride if there’s one near otherwise don’t bother

Never, unless I’m doing maintenance on it, before every ride I make sure stanchions are clean and lube the chain, have done for years with no problems whatsoever, I do about 10 hours riding a week and change the whole drivetrain once a year.
