The first day route profile when I plug it in to a gpx viewer is showing 17% gradients across the south downs, sounds a bit lumpy I’m hoping its an error

I’m running the stock 42 16 which I think looking at Sheldon’s web site is 69″ gear

Rear freewheel is the stock Deda item, not easily removed so probably best left as it is should be ok though based on the above I hope

I’m very keen on the 29er race but they are only available in 18″

I had a 20″ 456 and sound a similar height to you, could you tell me what length your inside leg measurement and how long the stem was you tired on the lurcher prototype – I’m hoping I can fit on an 18 too

That would probably be the American classics then..

sounds like a 2.25 nobby tubeless on the front and maybe a ralph on the back could be a good mix for a jet 9 having rear suspension

‘am used to HT 29er with big tyres’ – I’ve had a similar experience riding a scandal riding roots and rocky stuff with full suss 26ers, what big tyres are you running on your HT Rocketdog?

Looking at that distance you can ride out to Haldon in the lanes or across to Woodbury and back?

One thing I like about the scandal is 80mm travel, so think I’m looking for something with less travel

I'm running mavic 719rims laced on Hope pro2 hubs on my inbred 29er, and you get the rat-a-tat-boom of the hope machine gun freehub for single track slow coaches..

Cheers nbt & Del, yes it's a few years old, I'm planning on going back to S/S for the winter – I guess hammer and drift to remove and then purchase a free wheel from elsewhere thaty has a suitable tool.

Any suggestions for replacement – I'm guessing I will end up with a selection of freewheels to try until I find my single speed mojo – thanks
