Trouble is they have to be flown very gently now. Watching them at displays 30 years ago was jaw-dropping…seeing something that big going vertical with dials set to 11 was 😯

What GT1972 said. Sorted out an elbow/forearm problem for me.

This may have been said in the previous 8 pages…..
How much did this cost me ?
Early bed and go riding I think

Loved it again this year. Had to go short course due to family time pressure and felt short changed.
I see the results are up and it looks like I scored 2nd in my (old gits) age group. Chuffed.

Yep, I’ll be doing it with a couple of mates.
Missed last year (stayed in bed based on weather forecast) and previous year (front mech broke riding up to start) but done all the others. It’s a nice day out. Please God sort out the weather 8)

He’s worth listening to on climate change alright.

In an interview with msnbc.com, he admitted: ‘I made a mistake.’
He said: ‘The problem is we don’t know what the climate is doing,’ he told ‘We thought we knew 20 years ago. That led to some alarmist books – mine included – because it looked clear cut, but it hasn’t happened.
‘The climate is doing its usual tricks. There’s nothing much really happening yet. We were supposed to be halfway toward a frying world.
‘[The temperature] has stayed almost constant, whereas it should have been rising – carbon dioxide is rising, no question about that.’

    Fail.

Does it make any difference ? They’re all just nuancing the centre-ground. Much as it will be hard to spot the change should Wallace and Balls-up get themselves voted in.
The resounding vote winner last week was “none of the above”.

Here’s[/url] some more data to confuse you. It’s all part of the global warming brainwashing.

Well I loved that. 100K in about 5h40 which is a normal sort of time for me (I’ve taken anything from 5h to 6h30 over the years as it’s so conditions dependent). Very much enjoyed my new rear shock with lockout.

We’ve had 3 Galaxies, an Alhambra, and now an S-Max. The Alhambra build quality was terrible. You wouldn’t think it came from the same plant as the Galaxy. They do what they claim.
The S-Max is about as big inside as the old Galaxy, slightly less height as the seats fold into the floor rather than come out, and a much better drive. I had 7 adults in it for a rugby game on Friday, carry 3 plus bikes inside, and get all my windsurf gear in easily. I’ll be buying another one.

We’re going to the U20 England/Ireland match tonight at Wasps. Winner takes the 6N title. And our friend Tom Price at 4 again – he’s grown into a big lad !

In true cash-in-the-attic style, just done a deal with Zippy and she’s out on the trails again. Many thanks Paul !

It was a warranty replacement in 2006 for an earlier one which broke, but the terms had changed to something like a 20% per year drop in value if replaced again, so zilch by now. Won’t hurt to ask, and I’ve been trawling ebay, but I think the outcome is going to be expensive.

Just to balance that Saxons result, England U20s won 59-3, with our friend Tom playing at lock…how did that little kid grow to be 6’9″ and 17 stone 😯

We’re flying to Sydney for 3 weeks on Sunday so avoiding it completely. It’s a family get together though so I suppose I’m compromised. And an air ticket is a freakishly expensive pressie 😕

Last time I had this measured I was borderline malnourished using caliper/skinfold and borderline obese using height and weight. Must be about right then 😉

Contracted for 32, actually doing and paid for about 50. This is to cover the damage to a private sector pension trashed first by Gordon Brown’s incompetence then by an unscrupulous blue chip employer. Public sector whingers can go whistle as far as I’m concerned.

Can you ask again in a year ? Just gone to a ceramic after getting 15 months out of a steel one – and my previous experience was like yours, getting through 3 or 4 a year.

It’s happened to me once off road, but it was more of a gentle bend and snap that sudden fail. Didn’t fancy riding home with the broken spike that was left protruding but couldn’t be removed due to deformation so had to call out a severely hungover wife to collect me…who drove over with a bucket between her legs in case of any ‘accidents’ 😮

Only one bad one towards the end of a 100K enduro. Luckily it was at the top of the last climb, so it was pretty much coast home and fall into cake tent. However, going down a steep rutted track with my hands going numb was a bit sketchy, and the last mile on the flat almost defeated me. Interesting to experience.

Might hose the frame if really caked, hose mud out of the chain and gears, spray GT85 on chain (lube properly before riding).
Then get the cheesy beans on 😀

Not lost my mojo but seem to have lost my legs. Had a major blow up riding about 3 weeks ago and just can’t get my hill climbing going again (going uphill has always been my better direction 😕 ). It’s happened before…and there were signs tonight that they might be coming back. Can’t help but enjoy this warm night riding though.

    Should fire when:
hot water timer is on and tank stat says go and circulating water temp says go
    or
heating timer is on and room stat says go and circulating water temp says go

    otherwise no

(that’s how mine work anyway with indirect hot water)
how are you sure there is no demand ?

Mine stop me ok @ nearly 14 stone. Fine for XC use.
They had given up almost all stopping capability at the end of a long Alp descent though (which is fair enough I think as they’re not really made for this).

Got a Lightmotion Urban 300 yesterday and used it for the first time last night. Plenty bright enough. Mind you, I rode half the time with no lights at all as the full moon was so bright 8)

I’m 55. It hasn’t been necessary to grow up yet and it’s probably not worth the effort now.

The Web Ellis Jump allows us to visit either nation on the weekend of the final, so we’re off to Saint-Lazare which gives many options for the more experienced left handed users of the Metro.
