Wonder if I’ll be on the newest bike? Trek 29er due to be collected tomorrow morning…to replace an old Marin that would also have been one of the oldest out there – but is now in two pieces (for the third and last time !)

Almost did that with a demo bike last weekend but sensed something not right just before mashing the pedal down. Who have been a trifle 😳

Demoing a 29er. Want one. But I think I need to start a 29er thread just to be sure 🙄

So going windsurfing was the right choice then ?

Bleurgh. Just been out and the lovely dry trails from Wednesday night have turned back to the Somme.
Looking more and more like a day to go windsurfing instead 😀

Yes I think the trailrakers are coming off. I’ll have a ride around tomorrow and see how things look but unless there’s rain it’s going to be summer tyres.

Yep, it’s going to be like to good old days. We’ve been spoilt for the last few years . I expect there’s a bit of head scratching going on re the course.

Another thyroid sufferer here, but I’ve been like this for 30 years. I have high and low weeks, on about a 6week cycle and feel ok most of the time but it does vary. I’m just coming off an extended high and I can feel things getting more sluggish by the day…..but like Arnie “I’ll be back”

Yep, had a quiet moment in the car after that interview before firing up Down by the Jetty

South Warwickshire here. Lots of riding once you know where, but the better stuff is Cotswolds when I can be arsed to get in the car. Yes, there’s a lot of bridleway which is a bit of nightmare this year but it’ll soon be back in action. Looking forwards to a few hours out in the snow tomorrow.

My 10 year old quad link Mount Vision is still going strong – it’s like an old friend now and we’ve had so many good trips. But actually the only original parts on it are the stem and bars. The frame has been replaced (rear end twice) and everything else a couple of times over. The limitation remains the rider 😳

My mate was at the show yesterday and liked the look of the new products.

Lanhydrock was owned by my paternal grandmother’s family. I look forward to playing in the woods there again !

It’s not how old you look, it’s what you do with it. Or something.
Anyway, last year’s MOT at the doctor, I ask the nurse if they’re going to do a prostate blood test (PSA). Nah she says, we don’t do it for 40 year olds. Umm, I’m 56.
Should have seen her face when she checked the records 😳

Married 32 years, still at it twice a week and most days on holiday. And in 5 months time I’ll be shagging a granny 😯

So, if Thatcher hadn’t done this, who would have ? Can you really see today’s overfed kids wanting or needing a warm 1/3 pint of milk at break time ? It was universally detested (by us kids) at the time, and was only there as a dietary supplement following the post-war misery.
One of many useful bits of slapping that Thatcher handed out to bring this country to it’s senses.
(goes off to fetch the popcorn….)

Shimano MW80s here. They’ve done quite a few winters, wet ones and cold ones, and work for me.

Well I look at the three main model outputs….and if they vaguely agree there’s a chance it’s about right. Today is a good example of when even that doesn’t work out.

4 hours mud plugging in the Shire. Sort of wish I’d ridden the roadie like last Sunday, but fun anyway. Question is – did it flush out the man flu that just won’t go away ?

Yes. Thinking about changing my 4yr/90000mile one for a newer one but there’s nothing wrong with it. Works as people mover, people & bikes mover, people & windsurf gear mover, etc….

Remind me when Hodge is going to have her daddy’s company in front of this committee to explain their tax affairs.

Finally got around to putting on Trailrakers to cope with Shire mud, which is fine, but I’d forgotten just how draggy they are on the road 🙁

And just how would the BBC be behaving now if it had been a Murdoch outlet that produced this “story” and run in on every news broadcast for a week ?
This is another nail in the BBC coffin hopefully.

Sony MDR-NC60 for me, been used a lot on long haul flying. Work really well, comfortable, and good battery life.

We walked past there a few years back while staying nearby and thought it looked like a top place to rent. Isn’t it near the (remains of the) dam where they tried out the dam buster bomb concept ?

About 10 years without shampoo for me, but what hair there is clipped to 7mm. My wife washes and conditions hers twice a day – I’ve given up the argument 😕

Still running my 2004 bombers. I guess they could do with a service but still going strong.
