    That’s a punchy start

Oxford for me (as someone who started rowing there and carried on for many years….)

John Kerry and Milliband in agreement. Now there’s a good reason to head rapidly in the other direction.

It’s made the warmists look stupid, as it’s the exact opposite of what they predicted in November

It’s made Milliband look stupid (not difficult) wading around in water too deep for his wellies hoping for a photo op

So Beeboid Harrabin and the Met Office suspect man made climate change is at play. These would be same people who in November forecast a drier than average winter ?

Still no sensible reporting in the msm about EU directives being at the heart of the problem. And the lack of “labour says” puff pieces from Auntie knows that they are well aware of where the fingers should also be pointed and they are just keeping their heads down. All part of the wonderful Blair legacy.

Ride in the sunshine first thing then a couple of hours of very chunky windsurfing. What’s not to like 😀 ?

This made me laugh. The BBC/Guardianista luvvies must be choking on their soya lattes that the filthy hoi polloi prefer this over the PC multi culti drivel that makes up most of the output.

Do some swimming with a drag float between your legs. It’ll help you relax and focus just on arms and breathing. And for Tri’s you want a lazy leg kick anyway so need to develop your pull technique.

Another labour press release churned out by the compliant BBC. At least the comments on their thread are putting the story straight.

I’ve had slow heart beat and suffered with PSVTs for many years (a side effect of taking thyroxin is the medical conclusion), which was never serious but I was prone to episodes while exercising but things were pretty much contained by medication. It got a bit worse during this year and I have changed to a new medication which has given me a new level of performance with my heart feeling really open while exercising but left me a bit prone to misfiring while sat doing nothing. Not sure which is better !
I’ve been tested and scanned many times and am persuaded that there is nothing structurally wrong and I’m at no real risk. Fingers crossed.

Worked well for us, and on our recommendation brother/sister in law went with them too with a good result. Pricey but worth it.

I’m 6’3″ too and went 29er a few months back. On hols I rode a mix of bikes and none of them felt right other than another 29er. Go big.

If you Google ‘HONC Route’ you’ll find various copies of previous years’ tracks. Or just get an OS map and head south out of Winchcombe on the bridleways. There’s a couple of clubs in the area who have regular rides too who I’m sure would be happy to show you around (us included !)

I believe they get a lot of income from wills, and long may it continue.
I pay my subs like any regular water user should.

Yep, we spent hours pottering down the Cali coast trying to find a beach that wasn’t fog bound, finally decided to high tail to Santa Barbara to find it had been sunny there all along and we could have been biking in the sunshine.

This reply comes to you from a lodge in Big Sur. We are travelling down this bit of the coast as this summers road trip and its as good as the last time we did it (30 years ago !). All the above are good, but I’d add Bryce to the list, and walk the Grand Canyon – down and back from south rim in a day is doable. We plan our trips on as many national and state parks as we can fit it, based on visiting son and family now in San Diego.

Seems to be a recurring theme. I asked the same question a week or two ago and now have two holes fixed by a puncture repair patch on the inside of the tyre. Works a treat and not too messy to do.

I got a Trek Rumblefish about 8 weeks ago. A touch above your price but for me was way better than the Camber for what I ride. My riding buddies have really noticed the increase in pace !

….or maybe not. Based on the email from last night it looks like they are trying to rerun next year based on the new route. I really enjoyed it this year, nice weather helped and the route change puts it into the tough but reasonably doable category.

Iain – Oxhill, just down the road from you. Small world eh ? I hear there’s a riding group in Shippy ? Not too bothered as I have a few mates I ride with and also happy to ride solo, but always good to have options.

Well I really enjoyed that. New bike made a real difference to comfort and rideability. I easily cleaned sections that I’ve found too hard in the past. Must be new toy syndrome 😀

Spooky – Iain I’m south Warwickshire too. Where you based ?

…oh, and ignore the moaners. I like it as a day out on the bike – wouldn’t have done it so many times otherwise. Horses for courses.

It’s my first event on my new 29er FS. Based on the riding so far I’m expecting a cushty day – if all that moorland climbing can ever be called cushty 🙁

    I live in Warwickshire

I had a 2 hour mountain bike ride this morning…

…then I had three hours in the car and a family birthday and another two hours in the car…..but would rather have had several more hours in the saddle.

    The 29er honeymoon continues….. 😉

Just gone tubeless myself, but on a new 29er with Bonty wheels/tyres so the technology is all compatible.
Question I have for those with experience is about the longevity of the sealant goo. I’ve run slime tubes for many years and I found that after about a year they no longer seal up properly, even thought the slime still appears to be liquid.
How often do I need to clean out and redo the tubeless gunk ?
