52 and a bit. Still as sprightly as ever, but taking the joint pills now to keep everything moving. I think this is my mtb decade, having been a serious rower and triathlete in earlier times. I am also a dead keen windsurfer, and when I get a bit more time on my hands intend to learn to surf properly. Lycra and no pants for me 😳

As I said ^^, we’ve had it for 20+ years, installed cost was £2000 in 1987. Maintenance – what’s that ? I’ve had an engineer out once in all that time, and that was planned work for a house extension. I’m now looking at a wood pellet burner to supplement/replace the oil boiler. I’m no tree hugger – this stuff just seems obvious to me.

Worth it ? Yes if you’re in for the long haul. We’ve had it in for over 20 years. Free hot water 4-5 months of the year, works ok bright spring/autumn days, no use on days like this !

We had ours done a few years back. One recommendation I’d make is to get an induction hob. You have to use steel pans, but the heatup speed is amazing, and it powers down like turning down gas. We changed to an extracting hood also – just don’t get one with sharp corners and install it at forehead height 🙁

Yep, Dahab. We go there to windsurf, but I’ve done a bit of diving there too. It’s a world class spot. Google ‘Dahab Blue Hole’.

I had the same just before Christmas. I bought a refurbed Dell system unit from an ebay shop for £100, here in two days, XP already loaded and running, works fine.

Thanks for the reminder, just signed up. Although we may end up windsurfing in Egypt that week. Decisions, decisions….

Stick them outside – it’ll be colder ! I had the reverse a few days ago – a Polypin of Hooky bitter in the garage that was almost too cold to drink, but I got it indoors and up to quaffing temperature just in time. Lovely.

I had a bit of a tree incident on Boxing Day, didn’t appear to break anything on bike or me, then half way round the ride the next day the drop out snapped and wrapped the rear mech around the wheel, etc….All back in one piece now but I decided to run this morning so it’ll get a proper ride out tomorrow. Bit worried that the chain could be shagged after all that twisting about.

MW80s over thick socks – just got them to replace shoes + neoprene outers. Work well. Winter strength gloves (Altura Tempest) are on for this sort of weather.

I’ve had some MW80s for a couple of weeks and loving them. Not had to use in serious wet yet but perfect for this freezing weather, and settling in well comfort wise. I hose them down with the bike after riding and haven’t had any evidence of leaks. I had to buy one size too big to get a good fit.
