Sorry to tell you that I tried it with a few epoxies, including araldite (can’t remember the other grades/names as it was a few years ago), and it didn’t last. Binned them and will never buy them again.

Shimano SLX 12-speed rear mech works perfectly with SRAM GX Eagle 12-speed shifter, it’s what I now have on both bikes and I’m happy to see the back of SRAM GX rear mechs :-) :-)

Have Cush Core in all of my rear wheels (so that’s for my Trance 29er and Reign 29er) as I live & ride on the edge of and into the Peak District. Yes, they’re heavy but I hate pinch punctures more than weight. I also use Schwalbe Super Gravity carcasses on the rear as I hate pinch punctures so much :-)

Yep, I’ve got one combined with a Pragmasis 16mm chain or two :-)

It’s not been tested to destruction (thankfully) and I have other security measures as well.

I was in the same situation as you, not wanting to cut the floor, so I’m pretty happy with the job it does.

Not the air but I’ve got the DB Coil on my Reign 29er.

    It’s amazing!!!!

As far as I can recall it’s fenced-off. Don’t know if it’s locked, but I do remember that during the first lockdown it was out-of-bounds & I can’t see how they would do that without locking it.

Being fed up of rim dings ive put a tough casing wtb on with a rimpact but the weight is 400 grams plus more and my god i feel it.

But has it stopped the rim dings?

The 2.4” Magic Mary (Super Trail) and 2.4” Big Betty (Super Gravity) that I’ve fitted this evening have both measured at 60-61mm at the widest knobble, so pretty much bang-on 2.4”. That’s on 28mm id rims.

They are bloody heavy though, both are 0.3Kg heavier than the tyres that came off – 2.6” Hillbilly Grid on the front and 2.4” DHRII EXO+ on the rear 😳😳

    Here you go:

    Dryer

I’ve added a digital plug timer like this, so that I can leave the unit switched to “ON” and then let it run for 2, 4 or 8 hours.

In the spirit of STW in recommending what you have – get a log cabin. Much more sturdy and resistant to thieves than a shed. Ours is 28mm thick wood and 14′ x 8′ from tigersheds.

I’ve got one on my Trance Adv 29 and yes, as said above, all it does is keep the linkage cleaner. I’ve extended mine with bits cut off an old front mudguard to take it below the level of the chainstays.

I’m a 100% confirmed Cushcore fanboi. Quite heavy & quite expensive, but if you want rim protection they are, IMO, the best.

Bookmarked, we’re off to the Gower for a 2 week holiday in September – COVID lockdowns allowing 😉😉

basically, why do we split a tube in half, pray that our rim/tyre combo is good enough to hold and not burp, when we could just keep the tube in with some milk?

    Pinch flats?

Anyway, tried ghetto years ago at the beginning of my MTBing – it’s just a faff that, IMO, ends up putting most people off tubeless.

It’s not the answer to the OP’s question, but proper tubeless (wheels, tape & tyres) is the most faffless and reliable way to go.

Just fitted a Sunrace CSMZ90 black 11-50 12-speed onto my new hardtail. Shimano freehub, SRAM GX rear mech & shifter.

Works perfectly, cassette was £82 from Merlin.

Any idea when the 141 “may” be released? Any idea if it “may” have a 150mm fork?

I bought some of these the other day, quite impressed with the grip so far:

The same seller also does some that have an Allen head.

I’m 5ft 11 and have had a Large Advanced Pro 1 from the first batch to enter the country. Have done over 2000 miles on it since then & constantly recommend it to everyone.

I changed the Level T brakes to XTs the moment I collected it and have never looked back.

In my experience it’s always best to get a 3-bike carrier, even if most of the time you only carry 2. It means that you can put the two bikes in tray 1 & tray 3 and there’s absolutely no chance of them bashing together.

I’ve had a Trance 29, the carbon green one, since the end of October last year. I’ve done over 1100 miles since then on it, all around the Peak District, first ride was the Long Mynd.

It’s wonderful, great for all day rides but also not afraid when I throw it down some steep stuff. OK I have to go a bit slower than when I’m on my Reign, but it copes.

It replaced a Kona Hei Hei Trail 29er that replaced an Anthem X29 so I’m fully converted to the benefits of a short-travel 29er for at least 1/2 of my riding.

I am a bit of a Giant fanboy, but I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend it to anyone.

I’ve just put a DoubleDown carcass Maxxis Griffin (that I got in the recent Maxxis sale) on the back of my Trance 29er, as I wasn’t getting on with the Minion SS (again in DoubleDown carcass).

I found the Minion SS to be too square a profile – probably because I run my rear tyres at 21psi with CushCore – and I really didn’t like the feel of it when leaning it over and it transitioned from the centre to the edge tread. The Griffin is still fast-rolling but is a much rounder profile, so doesn’t suffer from this.

After about 5 rides and approx. 100 miles, I’m impressed so far.

Shame because I think they’re discontinuing them :-)

Photo is of an HG freehub and there’s no mention anywhere of XD Driver. I’d imagine they’ll tell you to go raffle yourself

You were right 😂, they said sorry but not sorry!

I’ve ordered an XD driver from Germany via EBay for £61, so a total of £236 – I think that’s still a good price, so I’m happy.

I’m guessing that, like most heavily discounted stuff that CRC sell, these are excess OEM stock. There’s no Sun Ringle box, no instructions, no branding. Just a plain cardboard box with two wheels inside.

That picture wasn’t there when I ordered them!!

Wheels have arrived, look good but the rear has a Shimano freehub body and I need an XD freehub.

They’re completely plain, matte black with no decals. They don’t come with most of the stuff mentioned in the above review, just bare wheels with tubeless tape already fitted. There’s a hole for the valve, so I think the tubeless valves have been removed.

Now waiting for CRC to reply to my request for an XD driver :-)

In the tradition of recommending what you have, Giant Trance 29er. Had mine since the end of October – not as slack or as long travel as a Sentinel but it certainly punches above its weight. Can’t recommend it highly enough so far

As received mine weighed 28.1lbs without pedals, it’s now 31lbs dead because I hate punctures and have fitted cushcore and a DD HRII on the back and a Conti Der Baron Projekt on the front.

    Ordered, thanks!!

Have run them on the front of my Reign as a winter tyre for a couple of years, this one ordered for the soon (not soon enough) to arrive Trance 29.

Sorry, nothing intended – thought you meant the racers. 😎

Edit – I didn’t realise that anybody but racers were allowed to ride it.

BTW, it still caused me “squeaky bum time” the first time I approached it 😊

That’s a bit harsh, what was your race number by the way? 😉😉

What’s even cheekier is that you still have to pay £10 for entry into the grounds when you’ve already paid to enter a race……….

These are the “official” DH tracks that have been approved for years by UU.

It was brought home to me last night how real a problem this is.

We were out riding the Macc Forest DH Trails and Mountain Rescue were at the half-way point, where the tracks cross the bridleway, doing an exercise to replicate someone riding into neck-height rope. They had a length of washing line tied around a tree.

For them to carry out a rehearsal shows that it’s a real problem and they expect to be dealing with a serious issue sooner rather than later – unfortunately I have no idea what the answer is, why can’t people just share nicely?

To save carrying both CO2 and a pump & just in case the CO2 canister doesn’t do the trick, I think this is the best purchase I’ve ever made:

    https://www.amazon.co.uk/Genuine-Innovations-Mountain-Schrader-Inflator/dp/B01MZ1TUSQ

I think I got mine from EBay a little cheaper than that.

I have a Cane Creek Coil IL for my 2016 Reign and it’s superb on the descents – but even with the climb switch on, I can feel it sucking the life out of me and the bike on the flats and ups.

I’ve now put the Fox X2 back onto it but will definitely go back to the coil for uplift days
