FC don’t have any land in and around towns? I guess it’s what’s available.
FCS have lots, but they don’t build trail centres any more…

Always been disappointed in Scotland. Riding is over-rated – dull classics that are just fire road slogs, infested with biting insects and full of racists that you can barely understand.

    It’s grim up north.

And I say this as someone who’s dad is full on Glaswegian.

The JOcko equivalent of “some of my best friends are black”?

whether you like Mr Boyle’s humour or not, he’s drawing attention to a grim situation.

if you think “force feeding” of hunger strikers is stuffing nice cakes in someone’s mouth until they let out a contented groan, then think again:

ps if you haven’t noticed, this is being done in your name. you should ******* care.

Any idea which section of the Land Reform (Scotland) Act gives them that authority?
You’ll be wanting a copy of the Forestry Commission Scotland / Scottish Cycling agreement (but applies to all mtb event organisers on NFE) from a couple of years back:

As a Scot who has spent a significant part of his time down south, I’ve received a lot of anti-Acottish comment. Most of it I’d class as “banter”, but a fair proportion not so much…

Anyhoo, quite glad Farage has been exposed for what he is. Nasty, nasty politics disguised (for some) behind a gormless grim.

Scotland has more pandas that Conservative MPs and long may it continue…

three clear years passed in Scotland one time with no snow for instance.
    Evidence please.

Rob McSkimming at the Eastgate? Me too.

IIRC he said that Whistlers income was primarily snowsports, then golf, then MTB. I’d wager a crisp Canadian dollar that the jumps between these are substantial, eh?

Still, agree with the opening line of your third para up there a bit.

most ski resorts make more profit in the summer from MTB’s
Any evidence to back that up?

the problem I see in London, UK is that large numbers (the majority) of cyclists and pedestrians are actually causing the problem that creates a “road traffic collision” (RTC), rather than any negligence on the motorists’ part
Fortunately, people with computers and pens have special numbers on these sort of things – they call them <WARNING: big word coming> statistics – that show that this is bollocks.

    >I think we’ve all been there (rushing/busy/not-quite defrosted everything etc)
Nope. Please don’t assume we’re all as idiotic as you.

    >I’d like to know if the cyclist had vivid clothing/lights etc.
You’re right. It was probably the cyclist’s fault. <rolls eyes>

If you ride on the road, expect your personal safety to be seriously compromised – think singletrack!
Blah blah. Guessing you only ride a bike at trail centres after having removed the bike from a rack on your Q8…

I wish I could sue the reactionary Daily Mail idiots that pepper this forum…

Stop behaving like cyclists are riding on the roads as some sort of cap doffing victims. YOU OWN THE ROADS TOO.

“Local cycle campaigners had repeatedly voiced concerns about the hazards of Edinburgh’s tram scheme.”

“The council has not acted on safety recommendations such as a two-way cycle lane, or improved lighting and signage to warn cyclists of danger.”

“this legal challenge isn’t just about cyclists and tram lines. It is about the duties of highway authorities to take proper account of cyclists’ safety, whatever they are designing.”

    And finally:
“It’s a priority to improve safety right across the city and the council’s coalition agreement commitment to invest 5 per cent of the transport budget on provision for cyclists will help achieve this.”
Edinburgh is going to have have some freekin’ cycling network if the council spend 5% of the £776m that’s being spent on trams. Oh, I see, you don’t mean 5% of that budget…

No trouble with walkers or burning cars when I was up there and riding the Pentlands. I suspect “bigbadbob” is perpetrating a smear campaign for a rival range of hills.

The Ochils or perhaps the Lammermuirs? Most probably the Campsies – they always looked kinda shifty to me…

FWIW, I think the same standards should apply to both forum and magazine.
I don’t think the views of someone who received a forum ban for posting a racist word are worth a shit.

Ok then can you explain how the World Cup at Fort William attracts 10k+ spectators for a dull boring sport?
10k spectators at the highest level of competition in the sport (other than the World Champs)? roughly the same as Bradford City got in the fourth division of football. not much of a crowd is it?

Stereotype alert, those digging jumps tend to be young, tend to be influenced by mags, tend not to be able to drive, tend to have little understanding of the implication of their actions.

It’s an incredibly daft thing to say, think he got off lightly…

I did laugh at Stu’s remark but the fact that there is so much snow this time of year is a bit unusual to say the least!
Late snow not that unusual. Few more years riding on the bigger hills and you’ll see.
