To the o/p ever wondered about shop staff, public transport drivers and cleaners as well as tradesmen, and many more who have worked all through the virus, most have families, as well as older parents,we used common sence, and followed advice, also no company or organisation can accept responsibility for family members it would be like leaving a blank cheques on every seat on the bus, every day for years, it cant happen, and wont happen, workers are responsible for their own safety, helped by H and S laws and company rules, with a big heap of common sence.

But under the current endemic claims culture, people will rattle the cage to see what falls out there way, instead of just changing jobs, and according to boris there are huge numbers of vacant jobs out there.

    I use this from Toolstation,
    https://www.toolstation.com/fuel-treatment/p75916

EMpty into tank of diesel, warm up engine and go to a quiet straight road, accelerate hard in 2 or third and watch the sky turn black behind you, do 50 miles and repeat, the harsh aceleration, engine will run quiet and smoot as well as improved acceleration use every few thousand miles.

Have used Redex, for diesels and doesnt do much.

5 mins today , 1 white bloke. 1 black bloke and 2 women all looked so bored trying to chat to each other about nothing and hating each other, but politically correct for some, and all sitting in a plastic box, thats not a tv.

Part of the contract they have with Amazon is that they have to make a few non car related programes for the channel, now Grand Tour has finished.

James May owns half a pub restaurant so possibly another series.

She decided she wanted no treatment – she wanted to go “home” to spend quality time with friends and to hear birdsong and see trees. With the help of our wonderful friend Iona who gave us use of her ground floor house and garden and a huge supporting cast of friends and family we were able to make her wishes come true.

I nursed her to the end and she died peacefully in my company. We were able to ensure she had a good death and that her final weeks were filled with laughter and love.

At the end she died much as she lived – very much on her own terms

What a lovely way to pass .Thanks for sharing it, and remember you still have all the memories.

In every society there will be people seen as dont fit in and will be bullied for whatever reason,LGBTQ, hit the right spots with certain people, either through brainwashing by religious leaders, parents or workplaces, things are gradually chanching , after thatcher and section 28, and the abolition of gay sex being illegal between consenting adults along with the age limit being reduced to what ever it is now.

Lets all live our live, be happy and freindly and accept people, dont be affraid of what they do for sexual pleasure or how they want to live their lives, cha and learn from them.

A few years ago went to a pride march as a spectator, lots of transexuals and drag queens there a gang of workmen turned up, looking amazed, then all of a sudden started shouting and clapping as a fellow workmate passed in drag, who was transitioning from male to female, and they where really suportive of her in their comments as she passed. She really looked amazed at their support, as did the crowd.

Drilled into a gas pipe once, and the slight hiss of gas and the smell is enough to tell you switch off gas and phone a gas safe plumber straight away as well as open all windows and doors , just incase, cutting through a pipe may have easily been done replacing a floor board with the gas off, but then turning the gas on youd soon smell gas and its time to get out, quick and phone for help, whoever did it accidentally or for whatever purpose has to live with that forever, and its not going to be an easy life.

Loved Meccano when i was a kid, so thought id like scaffolding work, asked a freindly chap about the job, he said dont bother, its hard graft in all weathers, its tough on your hands and body, it kills the nerves in your hands due to handling cold steel been outside all year round, its all safety critical, and theres always the risk of serious injury from fall or something falling on you.
Its also a hugely skillfull job as peoples lives depend on it being done properley.

I see and work in houses with teenagers and mostly theyre clever intelligent and polite and sometimes freindly and chatty and most have techno skills i can only dream of.

But life is harder for them, than we had, they like socialising by phone or internet, love youtube and gaming, when we where kids we had 2 tv channels and a phone in the hall, and possibly a bike for transport.

From an early age they where programed to go to school and then work or uni/college,and a lot of that has been taken away from them also meeting freinds and groups, so what to do, listen to them chat to them ask them qustions about stuff you dont understand, discuss your work and work oportunities with them, but the most important thing is to listen and explain how you feel.

Then all of a sudden they will discover sex, and either get a girl pregnant, or become gay,and form relationships, and things return back to a near less stressful normal.

SInce steam went every new train on british railways has been faulty to start with, takes many years to sort the faults then they become quite reliable or are scrapped.

Pity there are so any of these newer trains all made by the same firm and maintained by the same firm.

Lived in an old house and what you show looks like a small coal boiler set int the wall to save space and the hole will be for a small brick shaped item with 2 vent holes each side and a small slopimg roof about the size or smaller than an a5 sheet of paper.

Oh and love diagonal cables as wehen i drill through them there is a huge flash and a bang and all the power is lost followed by a chant what the f..k have you done, followed by me saying cable was run in accordance to wiring regs.

2 lifts in liverpool staff almost drowned as the basements where flooded and they pressed the basement button, in a not used building fr quite a while, lift decended and the ewate suddenly came flooding in through the doors, since then one building was always advised that the lift should be sent down to baseent empty and then returned up to check for water ingress.

Also got trapped in a lift at tesco chester, lady who i was with but didnt know, didnt seem amused when i said at least we have plenty of food in the trollies, she just wanted a wee, so forced doors open, but floor was about 2 foot below the lift floor level, we dropped out back into the shop and lifted trolles out and then had to use another lift up to the car park.
Worringly staff just ignored us, and carried on working on tills.

JUst remembered a freinds son, many years ago , got a job as a graduate trainee in a big supermarket, lots of interviews to fet in etc, and role play, first day at his new store put on the floor stacking shelves, got to about 10.30 he got hungry, so went and got a packet of crisps and a can from the shelf, and started eating them when stacking shelves.
Senior jobsworth walked up and said youre not to eat on shop floor, etc, heated discusion about rules and hunger etc, and sacked at 11.00am told not to come back.

Another job i had promised a junior managers position, first five mins, hello said new boss, tea bags in locked cupboard, count out 20 for the day, and put ern on, when i asked why just 20 tea bags she said people steal them, even a pint of milk had to be accounted for, 30 mins in i realised it wasnt the job for me.

Nice middle aged bloke in one supermarket told me of one obnoxious person junior jobsworth,so one day he put a security foil strip in her shoe under the insole, she triggered the alarm when walking out, and she had a few quids worth of stock in her bag, she hadnt paid for, caught by a security guard who was new, and didnt know her as staff, she got sacked.

Another chap i knew good worker and always helpful, in a factory, booked a afternoon off, boss from hell, screamed where you going, he said ive booked the afternoon off, she said no you havent, he said i have and walked out, a few weeks alter he resigned, a week latter was told she had been sacked as a few others had resigned due to her attitude, and they lost a lot of production .

Me a few years ago, hated the job, found out about widescale fraud, and mentioned it to another staff member she grassed, and my life was hell, for a few monthe, finally snapped, told her to stuff her job, i resign, next day a recorded mail envelope saying i was sacked for gross misconduct.

At about 18 working in industry got told off for something so petty, chatting to an old wise bloke about 60 in the foundry, he said listen lad, when you leave school you think youve left all the bullies and children behind in the playground, you havent, they just get jobs in junior management or become supervisors. He was so correct.

    Stay strong.

You do know about british gas and their pricing structure, to gain as much from customers as possible, been to numerous homes where they have done huge quotes for work, eg a vent in a attic door lid, cost 250 because the gas boiler need air in a 25 year old bungalow, moving a radiator, whole system condemed and new boiler and pipes required, a new boiler and rads when all thats need is a new boiler.

Luckily some of the abovee got more realistic estimates of work required, get a local tradesman in.

Nick Bundy and Artisan electrics have good humorous vids of actual EICR and the work they do.on Youtube

Chap drives into work car park and switches off ignition to freewheel 50 foot to park under same tree for 6 years i was there.

another chap, would suddenly do some work when management where around, didnt do anything any other time,

Industrial setting, every morning at 07.30 chap would go to the bog, despite only starting work @07.00 hrs.

Eccentric bloke used to cycle 15 miles each way to work dressed in lycra and a cycling top and wolly hat every day,got advised by a fellow lady management wouldnt be to happy if seen, a few weeks later management turned up at home time, and said you look fit, bet to get home now to avoid the rush. Thats me eccentric.

Industrial site, fellow worker, far and unfit sweated like a leaking cullender full of smelly pooh, every summer was a nightmare, as i think he only had a shower on his day off.

Panorama bbc 1 last night and now on iplayer about countryside fly tipping, our local tesdcos took away most of the recycling skips and sainsburys cant be bothered to ensure theirs are emptied , numerous complaints to get them emptied, followed by the usual we have reported it to the team responsible.

Our two tip sites council owned run by private comapny other day one had 38 cars waiting, and the other about 20, over in liverpool buses had to be diverted as car parkers blocked the toad to the tip waiting to enter.

Just why do plebs have so much stuff, they can afford to just throw away instead of thinking do i really need that, and can i recycle /sell/give away or reuse stuff i do.

Many years ago knew a chap who worked in the depot where they assemnbled points and crossings for BR, and he said cutting them was a nightmare as all sorts of stuff was ingrained into them, over the years, and when burnt they also spit out nasty contaminents, so all the offcuts went to landfill.

I believe the correct term to use now is “You need to reach out to him”, keep getting asked that when i cal a call centre how can we reach out to you.

    project

If he was over 50 the term would be Queer, if your and him are aged 30 or less the same term would apply, strangely, one as a general term used by older people and one championed by younger Lgbtq people.

Best thing to do is just ask him why he asked that, preferably somewhere a bit quiet at work.

People do make mistakes and one of your fellow workmates may well have joked youre a gay, so he was just asking.

Just what are you affraid of him for you want to report it, did he make any advance to you,did you make any sort of advance to him,how did you react, have you seen him since, and probaly lots more questions, eg does he ride a mtb or road bike, or an e bike, etc

Proper Somerset farmhouse scrumpy will do the job, absolutely guaranteed 😃

Living in Stroud years ago, i used to cycle past a farm in Stonhouse that brewed its own cider,The scrumpoy they sold was full of bits of apple, skin and some pips, and was so strong, like drinking a thick apple soup. So one day i stopped and bought a few big bottles, cycled around a few miles and bottles where heavy, so drank one then another, got back pissed somehow, went to bed and woke up in the night, huge explosion of pulped apple, seeds, apple skins and other stuff filled the bowl to almost overflowing, and the smell……………

The picture could just shout out HELP for anyone suffering mental anguish not just the lgbtq community, the Help needs to be more pronounced, perhaps if it was s blue coloured, it could be seen as offering help to those who voted conservative or out of europe, or another colour for a failing football team , its what people want to se or believe is protrayed in the picture.

Heres a simple suggestion, borrow a wheelchair and trundle round your local town/shops for half a day with a freind to take pics and see how difficult it is to navigate streets/parked vehicles/kerbs, and much more.

Done it for work and its a real eye opener.

Just remembered another nurse telling me about giving a motorcyclist who had fallen off his bike a barium enema, which involved a rubber tube, a funnel a measuring jug, and some warm white liquid, and lubricant.

20 years later, theres me having the same treatment, but with a large bag of white stuff being squirted up me by 2 nurses along with a jet of compressed air, and both after 2 packets of Picolax.

Then going to the toilet, and watching as the whole bag of white stuff, runs out of your bum, like a huge white thick milkshake for a few days after, slowly turning a more natural and solid colour.

When i worked in the NHS got told by a nurse freind that a patient they had at A and E, suffering from constipation, it appears he had been told to get some Mentos, mint sweets as they acted as a laxative, or some suppositories, he got the 2 mixed up and swallowed the laxatives, and then inserted a whole packet of Mentos up, his bum, wrapper and all.

He made a good recovery she said.

If its in his feet, get the gp to refer him for an ultrasound to check circulation also check for diabetes, as that can show up as poor circualion , cold feet etc.

Plastic bags over socks then another thin pair of socks on feet or make some foil bootees to go over feet help me.

I work outside and ride bikes and suffer reynauds, vinyl disposable gloves worn under gloves help a lot, when hands get cold hold them under cold water, never warm or hot as that drives the blood away, and use a bar of soap to exercise fingers, again works for me.

Few years ago a customer had just retired and was so pleased to get a job delivering parcels for hermes @ 50p a drop, he failed to understand that if nobody was in he would have to return nrext day to re deliver for that 50p plus all his other deliveries.

Then there was the estate car full of parcels, that the driver was sorting at side of road, he then drove off failing to realise he had left some at side of road and some on the roof, pity i was on the bike or i could have redistributed them for him if i was in the RANGE ROVER Sport.
