Great that there’s literally no coverage available in the UK. NOT

Some good riding and developments at Coolaney bike trails, near Sligo, if you’re taking a MTB

There’s Braefoot near Aberdour which is just under an hour from St Andrews. Pretty compact but there’s some decent stuff there for sessioning. You could also try Blairadam which has some fun trails but is also fairly limited.

That is a shame. Was definitely some fun to be had up there.

That’s a shame he fell, would have been nice to see a ding ding between him and Gaze on that last lap

There’s a bit of everything there (XC trails, orange trail, pump track). Kept me entertained for a couple of hours. Nice views over Glasgow so if it’s not much hassle bringing the bike, do it!

If you’re mounting to a MTB make sure you get a Nexxt Mini, better compatibility although it’s still not perfect

I think on shared paths you have to remember that everybody is seeing things from a different perspective depending on what they’re doing. To them, you’re annoying, to you, they’re annoying… and everybody probably has at least some justification for feeling the way they do. It’s a shared space, so a bit of compromise is required – which isn’t always mutual, but getting annoyed isn’t really helping relations with anyone.

    Well said.

There’s a club ride on Wednesdays at Coolaney, according to a couple of people I met there a few weeks back. They were also talking about Union Wood in Sligo being a great place to ride, but naff in the wet.

More trails currently being built at Coolaney which are due to open in the next couple of months apparently too

I used those Decathlon trail running waterproof trousers for a couple of years. Overall they were fantastic – light enough to carry around all time while commuting, big legs zips for getting on/off easily and they have a tapered fit around the ankles. They aren’t particularly durable though so if you’re using them without a mudguard they wear through pretty quickly. Tbh by the time they were shredded the DWR seemed unproofable anyway. I’ve got a 3 layer jacket which is much more durable but also heavyweight. Mudguard is key for longevity on the trousers!

I was looking recently too as my 11 year old Escapist 32 was done. Montane looks good but the hip belt was too thin for my liking.

Ended up getting a Deuter Trans Alp which is great. 24 litre and all sorts of features, would recommend.

Get rid of them, total pain in the arse

The Yepp Maxi is rear mounted, no? I was looking for front mounted with a short steerer and 50mm stem. Ended up with the Yepp Nexxt Mini, an updated version which has a more compatible bracket. Watch out for non Nexxt versions as they are a PITA with mountain bikes.

My mag just arrived…after opening the nice, new paper packaging and admiring both covers I went straight to find the printing error! Couldn’t see any problems and can’t wait to enjoy the latest issue. Congrats on 20 years and don’t worry about the (invisible) error – still love your work!
