Washington/Worthing/Steyning loop on lovely dry trails, cloudy but warm enough and even a nice bit of sun at the end 😀

Had a week there last summer, staying in a budget B+B. Rented a new model Trek Remedy carbon for 40euro/day, bought a couple of decent maps and just went exploring… there’s a lot of fireroads but no real hassle from walkers on the footpaths (but then i’m quite courteous 😉 ) except the heavily-used ones. I plan on going back to the area this summer to do more hut-to-hut stuff in the Wetterstein/Karwendel. It’s a very pretty place and not pricey.

I love my ’09 Dawg. Even with the scandium frame it’s a bit of a porker but the geometry suits me fine for what i throw at it – including Alpine jaunts. I wouldn’t class it as a freeride bike, though, that’s what the Stinky was designed for – and it’s supplied with a 130/140mm fork so not quite a Patriot. Good value, mind, and not common here.

Rode through on a motorbike from the Macedonian border through to the Bosnian border at the Tara park, several years ago. Very rural region with people working in the fields with horses and carts etc (much like uk several decades ago, i’d imagine). People unfailingly helpful and polite and no-one appeared to resent a Brit visiting, quite the opposite in fact. I enjoyed it, basically.

Last year, in fact – but they don’t get that much use off-road (i prefer my other bike for that), mainly roadwork to work.

Went last year and not terribly impressed. Not much in the way of “show special” prices but ok for getting info/bumph re bike hols etc. The Boat Show next door was a whole heap more interesting (pneumatic Russian blondes and floating spaceships galore 😀 )

The prob i find with estate cars for kipping in is the lack of headroom, so i found a tent with some headroom and an estate car is the ideal solution (plus you can store the bikes in it overnight…hard to do if you’re in there too) – did a couple of months worth of euro roadtrip this way and it’s what i’ll (hopefully) be doing again…

Same situation for me as Racefaceec90, so the upside is i spend xmas hols on the Dawg checking out new places (for me, anyway). Last year it was FoD/Malverns and am now in Llanberis after done Snowdon today with (hopefully) Betws y Coed and Penmachno in the offing.

Just heard about this…am truly shocked by this, especially as the victims are primarily young children.
I can be a bit blase about stateside shootings, but this has rocked me.

Spent 4 days in Garmisch this summer on a mini-break. Rented a new carbon Remedy 9.7(?) for less than 40euros/day! Bought a good map of the area and went exploring… no-one had a go at me even when on footpaths (have to use them as recommended bikeroutes are invariably fireroads), in fact on rocky stuff walkers were pleasantly encouraging. Had some disbelieving looks from tourists in the town when riding for Cafe/Kuchen at the end of the day – armour on a biker not the normal attire there 😀 Love the area, but try Austria for the same culture with a more relaxed feel.

Sounds good to me, i may eventually get to see more of swinley in an organised manner rather than my usual stumbling about the gaff… 😀

what do you all expect from this prog – it’s super-generalising an niche sport for the audience! but the concensus was that better components do not a winner make, geometry triumphs!

Popped in to order another b****y mech hanger for my Dawg, and left with a price-reduced Whyte 905 (excuse – needed a back-up-bike) 😯

My Fabia’s rear-wash-hose came off a couple of times with a bit of subsequent leakage – added some superglue to the plastics involved… no more leaks *simples*.

Just walk about the place – one of the few US cities you can do that, the car is not king there!
+1 for Yosemite/Sequoia’s/Monterrey/BigSur etc… the region is an embarrassment of riches 😀

Sounds about right, the Nasty Party internal structure presided over by a Nasty Man. Poor timing after the previous day’s WPC murders, mind. But yes, an odious turd… 👿

Well, i AM a fan of the Moyles Show.
I like the lack of the bilge that the charts throw up, and replaced by funny banter, pubquiz, Golden Hour etc. Inclusive radio.
Grimmy is just going to play s**t chart tunes and dance to the corporate line. Good Northern humour, though, good luck to him with the resultant ratings crash.
Scott Mills is older than Moyles so how could he take over the show…
So it’s 5Live from now on, Evans was good back in the day but now…nah.

Been running my ’03 plate Fabia mk1 with the 16v 1.4 polo engine for coming up to three years now. Apart from a couple of ignition coil packs (5 min fix) and a changed (and subsequently cleaned recently) egr valve been very reliable. No probs with the Skoda bits, just the VW bits 😆 Good economy to boot…

Ran a set of Tech2 9mmQR for the last couple of years. The rear has needed a set of off-the-shelf bearings once a year and the front is still on the original set! Just this last week taco’d the front rim (19mm internal width) in Morzine so simply had the lbs put a new rim on as i wanted to keep the Superstar hub… recommended.

Nope, no interest at all. Just don’t see the attraction of cycling specifically in amongst noisy/smelly/aggressive motorists… I mtb to enjoy the (relative) peace and beauty of the countryside – cowmines/brambles/nettles aside, of course 😆

1 – the Mosquito, ‘cos it was old tech (wood and fabic) yet damned fast and fulfilled a number of roles (a bit like an Orange 5 😆 )
2 – ME 262, the first operational jet fighter so cutting edge techbut allied with sexy design!

Try going on the airport’s website and checking departures, or the arrival airpirt arrivals.
