I’ve got mine covered under the house insurance, as above it gives me peace of mind even though the amount it’s insured for wouldn’t buy me another one!

    Get it insured mate!!

I ordered a rear shock from my one of my LBS, they left the receipt in the box…cost them £240, they passed it on to me for £380… Not bad profit for one phone call!!

I had a poc in med/large and it was perfect, before that I had a enduromatic in sm/med and it fitted like a glove. The enduromatic cooked my brain and I always had to take it off on climbs.
The new All Mountain Urge looks better vented so could be better

Ghost 5900 gets my vote, it’s an awesome bike and has 50% off at CRC at the mo… Don’t think you’ll get a better bike for £1075 personally

I did a good one with my 2012 ST’s….I found a discounted 2011 set online, went into my local Evans and they price matched them with 2012 ones…was a nice saving on the RRP. Is it my fault the staff don’t know what they’re selling?

I wouldn’t have done it with a independent LBS before I get slated!!

I’ve had a satmap 10, Bryton50 , MM3500 and garmin 800…the screen on the 3500 is great but the functionality is not.
    I’d recommend the 800 mate

I’ve got 3 long sleeve and a short sleee baa baa, I always wear them on rides, never scratchy…the only niggle I’ve got is they’ve all got holes in them…holes seem to appear after washing. Not a big deal as its just more ventilation

Yep Northwind, I’ve just snapped up a £60 striker from CRC, chuffed with it!!

    I’ve currently got…
Squirt- ok in dry, useless in wet
Progold stuff- used last night, seems to just fall off the chain onto the floor. crap.
Juicy lubes wet – the better one of the 3 but cost a fortune.
Once these are used up i’ll keep looking for a decent wet lube.

My gf gets the hump with the constant upgrading of stuff and when bike stuff turns up in the post. I began to hide things and even got some sexy formula brakes delivered to work to avoid the inevitable questioning. I quickly decided it was pathetic to hide these things and if she doesn’t like it she can use the door. We don’t talk much anymore

I put my VPD’s in the machine for the first time last night, they’re fine. Should’ve used some fabric softener to get them smelling nice, will do next time

I had a bad wheel build from superstar, the spoke tension was so tight the spoke eyelets were pulling through the rims, the rim eyelet holes were stretched and the rims were out of shape. Also the rims were scratched when I unpacked them. When I complained they told me to send them back which cost me £13 but superstar would only refund a maximum of £6.50 on postage costs so that left me out of pocket too. threads about superstar are common on STW and most people seem pretty happy but I’d never use them again! There’s plenty of local bike shops that do wheel building that’ll match superstar prices.

I’ve just got back from a ride with my new shin pads, got some POC ones with the £10 0ff CRC voucher. Very happy with them, they didn’t move at all and were very comfy. I forgot I was wearing them for most of the ride and they make my spindly little legs look normal thickness. Bonus!!

I had grief with a wheelset from ss a while ago, I thought they’re customer service was crap. And they still owe me a refund on some pads

I had the same thing with my RH vault, after a quick re-built and re-grease it was like new

Yeah I’m using The One’s too, I had a look at the superstar adapters and from the picture I doubt it’s gonna work…I’m well chuffed with the brakes but paying £18 for an adapter takes the P!!…I’ll see if the guy in my LBS has any knocking about we can try

    Cheers chaps!

I’ve had a few lids lately but settled with a Met Kaos UL, it’s light and comfy and I forget I’m wearing it so it’s perfect, POC trabec Race (£96-amazon) is also a very good lid, it’s slightly heavier than the MET and the ventilation isn’t as good.
The FOX Stryker and 661 recon are both ultra comfortable but I personally didn’t like styling as much as the MET, the Scott Lin and Urge AM are both out in a few months so you might want to wait for those…

I’ve just fitted a RQ front and x-king rear, the x-king sealed up first time, the RQ took a lot of shaking the Stan’s around and a few rides but it’s fine now. Much prefer this combo to my old Nobby nics
