I ordered one from CRC a few weeks ago, I totally agree, the fit was odd and it was pretty painful to wear just wandering around the house.
It went back for a bell super which I’m well pleased with!

I’ve now got this with my ST’s. They recently started twanging, turned out I had 2 loose spokes, spokes have now been sorted but the twanging persists. Gonna have to get it sorted as it’s V annoying!!

I have a large, I’m 6ft on the button and it fits a treat. The ASR5s do come up a bit on the smaller side. I run mine with a 60mm stem and wideish bars.

Funnily enough, mines for sale if you’re interested 2012 frame with kashima shock. Barely used too.
    £750

If the frame is still available drop me email pls Dan

Thats a nice bike OP, sorry for your loss. I feel your pain as I’ve 2 nice bikes nicked in the last few years. There’s only one way to keep your bike secure and that’s to keep it firmly attached to your wrist.
I hope you get it back OP!

Sombrios are good, I know you said you didn’t want 5-10’s but I recently got some Dirtbags and they’re great for biking and feel like wearing cotton wool on your feet

I think I had this problem, sounds like the rimstrips your using are too wide for your rims…you may be able to stretch them a bit… Get some soapy water in there and pull the rimstrips around the rims, pay attention to the valve area and pull the rimstrip so it narrows and sits under the bead….i had major nightmares trying to make mine work, the wheel got launched across the carpark at one stage.

    Good luck!!

Had Teva Links which were very comfy, then got some five ten spitfire freeriders which were grippier but not quite as comfy, still a nice shoe though!

Even though this isn’t related at all, I’m selling the Five Ten Spitfire freeriders…..check my profile if interested!!

I recently did a skills course, as someone above mentioned it didn’t exactly rock my world BUT I took away a few good pointers….the coach recommended that every time before you go for a ride, get on the bike and practice getting as far back on the bike as you can ,make your bum actually rub on the rear wheel, do this 3 times before you set off. Thats where you want to be when your tackling the steep stuff. It’s definitely helped me with my riding/confidence so it might help!!

Mine insurance is the same, you might a payout as the bikes were at home. I feel your pain mate, I lost 2 nice bikes in 2011. These people must get the bikes back home then google the value and have a little party. F-ing Scumbags!

I keep bottoming mine out too, usually from as little as a decent bunny-hop?!…time for a homemade shim me thinks…can’t say I notice a huge difference between mine and the £80s econd-hand RP2 it replaced. I think I may have fallen for marketing BS!

I got a pair of high-top ones from the CRC sale, I’m really pleased with them. I had freeriders before that and the sombrios have much more padding and feel nice and comfy. I’m a 8 and the 8’s were spot-on. I wouldn’t pay full RRP for them but for £50 they were a good buy.

I had both, I’m using the feature at the moment which I really like. I found the urge Endur too hot, the urge AM is much better vented IMO if your an urge fan

I’ve tried loads of lids over the past year, the Urge All mountain is my currant fav, the fit is perfect and its well vented, however I’m tempted by the Giro feature and also the Troy Lee A1 which is out next month. The Scott Watu looks good for £30 too!!

We could start our own little club, it’s only a case of arranging a time/place to meet. The first rule of Bikeclub…….
    Nobody talks about Bikeclub.

That’s a shame it was a good little shop a few years ago, it seems to have gone downhill since then. Heard various bad stories about staff and it all seemed a bit shambolic in there!! It’ll prob be a Costa coffee in a few months
