Glad he’s gone – but nervous about who they get in – fingers crossed it won’t be someone like Lampard or Gerrard

Good to see our Nigel, the hero of Clacton has headed straight off to offer Donny support. I presume in a fluffer capacity.

Agree with pretty much everything theotherjonv said – I would also add, that Spain absolutely dominated midfield. When we did that to the Dutch Koeman put an extra man in midfield & shortly after bought on a target man.

Last night was crying out for an extra man in midfield just to break up the Spanish rhythm.

I’m sure Gareth knows best – but when the team have stumbled into a formation that works & is balanced did he change shape back to 4 at the back.

While he’s done a great job as England manager, it feels the way the draws have opened up at the last few (2022 is the exception) tournaments we should’ve been able to get at least one across the line.

Thought they were well beaten by the better team last night.

However I do feel we have the ability to be the better team. People saying Kane is past it seen to be forgetting that he was the top scorer in Germany this year.

I think England would be better suited with a false 9 and having Foden, Bellingham and Saka taking turns running in behind to stretch the defence or something

But for a viewer, aside from the absence of RW on the mike, it is objectively better than the red bull era.

No – they’ve made it confusing with Quali then Semi finals, then the race.

The coverage is arguably worse – cutting commentary on live runs for interviews, no rider start lists during the coverage to remind you who’s coming up & what order. For some reason not having a woman co-commentator for the women’s race.

The thing that I was shocked that the yoof of today will struggle with is file management – they just save stuff on the computer & rely on software to point them in the direction of recent files.

Once those are gone it causes them issues as they cannot find the files.

The very fact those questions are being asked says to me it’s time to step down – both of them are older than my dad, as much I love him I wouldn’t trust him to run a country

Anyone else notice the lack of brown faces in the Labour Cabinet? I make it just two out of 26 Cabinet members, which is in sharp contrast with Boris Johnson’s Cabinet.

Funnily enough I did notice that – although it’s great there are plenty of women there, there is a lack of non-gender diversity.

Anyway, it looks like a long overdue return to a government that actually DOES stuff, rather than just posture for tomorrow mornings Daily Mail headlines. Though by the sound of Suella Bravermans latest unhinged outbust, it looks like the Tories are going to be doubling down on their culture war nonsense and we can expect more of the same from them, and probably little else.

Fingers crossed they’ll ignore the noise & get on with actually doing stuff

Everything they have done so far has been slick & professional. It’s such a delightful change – hopefully they’ll make politics boring again & in doing so people will start to ignore those like reform & be more inclined to vote for lib dem & green & move our political landscape to the left.

Sometimes I think Labour could drop tax to 0% on all workers, wipe out everyone’s personal debt & say that they’ll fund the country from their own personal fortune & the right wing papers & Reform/Tory supporters would still find something terribly wrong with them.

Koeman was a great player, he got Graham Taylor sacked for hauling down a striker in USA 94 qualifying.

Without him there would’ve been no Terry Venables Euro 96.

I don’t agree with all of this politico-intellectual snobbery against people with lower rates of formal literacy, especially when it comes to their health.

I think initially it was snobbery it was a demonstratable way of showing how poor literacy rates are in this country.

It’s ironic – while the HOL desperately needs reform (not Farage’s lot) it’s existence has pushed back some of the worst of Brexit & Rwanda policy.

I see the tories have got the desperate stage of a majority is bad for Labour cos they’ll enact their polices, but it’s good for us to have a majority as we can enact our policies.

(The cheap powered coolboxes can’t cope even on a warm UK day)

Found out some time ago they aren’t actually cool boxes as such, they can only reduce the temp inside by 15c so on a hot day in your car they don’t stand a chance

Really? I mean I get why Ch4 run stories like this but “Party that uses racist dog-whistles, turns out to by run by racists” isn’t quite the water-cooler moment I think they were hoping for. I mean, what were they expecting?

Every little helps – it still disrupts their campaign on the ground & although it might go down will with their core support – it might some people who are wavering choose differently.

Things I hope a Labour government will bring –

A level of competence. The latest Tory govt has the lowest parliamentary sitting time

The average duration of a Commons sitting day in the current parliamentary session, which began in November, has been 7 hours and 9 minutes, a record low since New Labour came to power in 1997, the FT found.

The end of the stupid Rwanda scheme

Kinder politics – less demonising of flavour of the month minorities

I don’t think Labour will end up chasing Reform voters.

They’ve not engaged with them on things they’ll lose with them like immigration they’re being much more measured and grown up about it

I’m going to slightly defend England’s performance last night.

The opposition were clearly well organised and played a game not to lose. They never once looked like scoring.

That said the current players and formation isn’t working. We always come inside and against a team like Slovenia who pack the middle of the park that’s just a waste of time.

When Palmer came on and Gordon it looked like we might actually get something. They should’ve come on much sooner tho.

From what I’ve seen so far Austria are the best team there.

I did ask on the local reform group that if Farage got elected, do they think we’d be an ally of Russia & we’d send troops to Ukraine to help them defeat Zelensky, or would we become a Russian territory overseas & be governed by Putin.

    It went down well

Getting this criticism could be what a good manager would use to build team spirit & get everyone firing on all cylinders.

It has yet to be seen if Southgate is a good manager.
