I read somewhere that May was thinking of chucking it in as he’s getting too old to be chucked around the world in knackered cars. It’ll be sad when it happens, but I’m at least confident now that there will be a decent alternative when it does.

If you’ve not watched it already, then check our “james May, our man in Japan” on amazon prime. Interesting show and he is great in it.

Harris has much improved now he seems more relaxed or finally realised it’s not just about reviewing cars.

Seems like he is comfortable and happy with those two, just doing something he really enjoys and it shows.

I think the three of them are a good combination, definitely settling in to their roles. The friendship seems less forced now.

Only two episodes in, so very soon, but so far I’d say its the best season for quite some time. I’d rate it over the grand tour as well.

In fact the only real disappointment I faced was that the router doesn’t look like a postbox.

Changed the back end of last year, used to be vodafone. Same speed, same price, but I got a £60 Amazon voucher for switching.

No complaints really, seems as good we can get at home.

Why am I picturing an AD&D meeting after reading your post Cougar? 😂

I’m going to need some assistance on the acronym here. Google is throwing up “accidental death and dismemberment” or “Advanced Dungeons & Dragons”

I would give £17.38 girl the benefit of the doubt as it’s the end of Jan.
The £30 for the pair people are worse in my eyes.

In my opinion it needs to be agreed that either the bill will be split, or people will pay for what they had. No messing around, and “guessing” what you want to pay.

My partner spent some time on SW, some of the recipes are good. I would definitely recommend the Pinch of Nom cook books.

But overall I wasn’t a fan of the system, it seemed to be designed more around it being a business (which I know it is). But the rules made progress slow, and kept people around to earn money off.

A calorie counting app like MyFitnessPal is better in my opinion, learnt much more about nutrition from a couple of months on that, than a lot longer on SW.

I’m genuinely surprised that this is a question anyone would ask. It’s not specifically a ‘protected characteristic’ (like gender or race) as far as I’m aware, but prospective employers cannot ask questions which may prejudice their decision and that includes lifestyle choices. I’m pretty sure this would be illegal.

I take it as once they’ve started the job and are being shown around, so they can be shown where to smoke. Could be wrong though.

Taking a 777 as an example, assuming an approach speed of 277 km/h and a distance of 50m between the front cabin and the furthest cheap seats, about 0.65 seconds.

Could it be argued that because the rear wheels touch down first, the people in the back “land” first?

The horizontal cardboard scratchers get a big thumbs up from me. Ours loves them, she sometimes sleeps on it, which is about 2ft from her bed. So get one either way!

What about one of these, not tried them personally but looks like it could help deter them. I can’t imagine they would be needed long term, just enough to put the cats off perhaps.

Morrisons for us, started doing it online as well. Feel it’s the best blend of choice and price.
Worked for Sainsburys for a while, seemed to be the same as Tesco just more expensive..
Used to do the shop at Lidl, but found that the fruit and veg didn’t last as long as elsewhere, so had to do a shop every 5 days, instead of weekly. Also seemed like every week there was something that I couldn’t get in Lidl, so had to go to Tesco/Morrisons anyway.

Makes sense to get rid of it, can’t have more little England tories if people are increasing their experiences in other countries.

We would love a huntaway, but unfortunately we don’t have the time at home for a dog. Our tabby cat makes us happy though.

I can’t see week 1 going well as I’ve got a LOT of cheese left.

I know the feeling, this weekend will be finishing things off time. Get on it properly after the weekend.

Went to the Bury St Edmunds Christmas Market this year and last, there was a noticeable shift towards the more generic, but still some good independent stalls. Didn’t feel very festive either.
Also went to one at Waddesdon Manor, now that was much better. Unique stalls and quite a few local to the Cotswolds.

Neither had sensible food prices, but the ones at Bury were the generic German sausage people.

My parents cat had a bowel issue, essentially needed a very small amount of liquid laxative mixed in to his food. Vets strongly suggested that what they were prescribing was the same as the human one. which could be purchased much cheaper at a pharmacy. Just couldn’t explicitly say it.

Slightly lower pay, pension – possibly working longer than planned

Around this “negative”, what I’d say is get the time now and enjoy it. Don’t wait until your 70 to enjoy life. Work a few extra years and enjoy the time while your family is young.

They actually make junk food sound decent.

    My nomination

    Gardenia in Cambridge, burger wrap.

Burger chopped up, feta, onions, salad, relish of some sort, jalapeño on the side all wrapped up in a flat bread. Lush.

I’ve visited Gardenia after a night out many times, not for some time though. But that ones new to me, sounds great.

I would suggest some sort of averaging system. If a person has averaged say 15 hours a week over the last 3 months, then they need to be given at least 66% of the hours. Just a rough idea.

Made scruffs lentil curry last night. Highly recommend it, delicious, filing, easy, cheap and healthy (I assume?).

I have learnt that lentils give me wind though, and when they spend 10 hours in a slow cooker getting curried it has quite the effect. The cat was riding the duvet like a magic carpet last night.

True, and yet completely irrelevant to the scenario we’re talking about here. What percentage of the kids in my son’s Spanish class live in Spain or might be living in Spain soon? It’s a completely useless use case. Kids very rarely learn a foreign language because they are about to move there. The far far more likely use case is that they’re going to visit Spain on holiday. How many times will they need a pencil case and a ruler on that scenario

Exactly, teach a kid about what’s in their pencil case. They then go on holiday, and it’s all useless in reality. They then give up learning the language at school.
Or.. teach a kid relevant stuff, e.g. how to read a menu and converse with people in a real situation. They enjoy using the language, and see how direct the application is from classroom to real world. This inspires them to continue with it.

Been a while since I was at school, but the Spanish learning sounds the same as my French and German.
From my perspective, the languages are taught to pass exams etc. A two week trip to France had a greater effect on my French language skills than 5 years of school.

The cookery stuff I imagine is up to the teacher, unless cheesecake is part of the GCSE.

A bit less than 50%, you’ve overlooked those who are actually of average intelligence.

Yeah, if your using the IQ score (not a great measure) as a test then some people will be at 100. It’s a bell curve as well, so a higher number than you’d expect would be at 100.

I may be missing something, but on the subject of leasing, surely the bottom will fall out of it sometime. If more people are leasing, who’s buying the cars afterwards?
If the used prices drop, then leases will cost more.

    On the scone thing..

With butter and jam everyone accepts the butter goes first, so why would you changes this when you have clotted cream?

Because butter is spread on, cream is applied in spoonfuls

Something I’ve done to wind the partner up. Take a four finger kitkat, open, don’t break them, but take a bite from the side. wound her up no end.
