I’m asking for some of that from the kids, I’m intrigued. Maybe with some ale, to wash it down.

Yeah I started using mine again on the back of this thread. It’s ace.

When you’re drifting around tesco carpark in the snow like a nob you’ll be less likely to knacker your good wheels with the extra rubber when you hit a weird little kerb island sideways. So i’ve heard

Dunno? Maybe, I discovered BR first though, by about 4 years. Possibly because I was googling dull stuff like, what hybrid for a 20 mile commute etc

Mine is an upgraded Yamaha 400k I’d reccommend at least the 450 though, the standard kick and hihat controllers are awful. It’s not the most amazing kit though, particularly the snare and hi hats. The cycmbals aren’t chokeable either. We bought it so the kids could mess about on it too, I’ve just been battering away at it when they’re in bed and the wife is out.

If you play a lot and want something good you need to spend about a grand for a half decent kit. I’d try some out properly first but mine is ok for a cheap muck around.

They do a decent hightlights package of the BSB and WSB on ITV4 and itv player. Actually, itv4 is pretty good for motorsport in general. It’s the only thing I ever watch on ITV.

I’ve drifted over here from BR after spending about 5 years drifting around there from commuting to road to MTB. Still pop back there occasionally, it’s a bigger site though so gets a lot of noob traffic and a lot of discussions are the same. Bit more variety in here.

I go on the chase trails forum too a fair bit, but I think I’m only one of about 6 people that does :D

Yeah I’m fairly sure mine makes a bit of a racket, I’d not use it upstairs that’s for sure, it’s not too bad on the concrete floor downstairs. It doesn’t disturb the kids upstairs so hopefully it doesn’t disturb the neighbours too much, they’ve not complained yet anyway :D

Eurosport had to let Mamola go, I’m not sure if it’s changed now, but at the start of the deal they weren’t allowed to be at all the races, the commentary was done from a booth somewhere. IIRC they only go to the non fly aways.

I’ve signed an online petition to keep it non live on ES, that said, I’d miss the GP a lot less than WSB or BSB, I’m a bit worried now dorna have bought the WSB though.

Honestly, I’ve not enjoyed it since about episode 2 of season 1. However, episode 1 was probably the best single episode of anything I’ve ever seen on tv.

I’ve not stopped watching it, but really, zombie films are about a group of people getting away from zombies, when you stretch it out into 4 series, it gets pretty boring pretty quickly.

Eh? Sorry have I made a typo?

For £650 that’s a lovely kit. My old Yamaha kit cost almost that and it was made from Basswood. It did sound lovely though after a couple of years. I really can’t justify a proper kit any more, I’ve got no spare space now the wife has filled the house with kids, and we live in a semi. I can’t be bothered to join a band either, guitarists get on my wick

Probably not. But it’s better than nothing.

I’m going to start saving for a decent one, that lot only cost about £500 all in.

I’ve never had any kind of problem before, freaked me out a bit. I don’t watch many 3d films (only ever at home, haven’t had chance to try the cinema yet) and I don’t get travel sick.

It happened pretty much immediately, if I wasn’t holding the ipad perfectly still the icons moving around just looking for the one I want caused me grief.

Shame really, I thought it was a nice effect.

More miles of canals than venice. Possibly more human faeces by the side of said canals too.

The midlands has a reputation for being crap, some of it is deserved, but I like it here. The Mrs can’t stand brum though, so YMMV

I would be more impressed with 100 miles, 100 beers, 100 pee stops…

Now this sounds like a challenge I’m interested in. Can the beers be bottles?

“motion sickness” (really? how sensitive are these people? walking about must be a real strain for them!)

    *puts up hand*

I had to resort to the ‘disable aids’ menu to turn off the fancy floating screen thing on my ipads, it was making me feel well rank.

my 2p, the whole ipads are better because the apps are designed for them is crap. Most of the ipad versions are worse, and there’s a load of apps that I’m stuck with the iphone versions of because no one’s bothered to make an ipad version.

    Noice!

I’m limited to this these days

sold all my acoustic stuff last year after 5 years in the loft. I’ve been playing regularly this year for the first time in 8 or 9 years.

One day I’ll get a new kit, I’ll need a new house first mind, I tend to hit quite hard

I’m getting it for the first time this year, like you say for a few quid it’s worth a go. Don’t need my balls anymore anyway.

Ashas is nice, right by my office, and opposite the best coffee shop ever, bar none. Pretty cheap too at lunch.
As someone who goes into brum everyday, I’d probably pick Liverpool, but burns not without its charms these days, it’s a great city to work in.

How about some of them 661 rhythm guards. I’ve got the elbow ones and they’re a bit warm normally I was after something cooler in the summer.

They’re pretty protective too for general trail riding. I had an off a couple of weeks ago and whacked my elbow but hardly felt it.

What if there was a video posted of a topless woman being decapitated, would that be ok? Or would they blur out the nips? :?

Loads of fun. I’ve use it hooked up to my electric drums via a cheapo iRig. I’m going to get an iRig HD eventually because there’s a lot of crosstalk between channels on the normal one.

I had a CD of songs with the drums tracks removed free with a pack of drum stick years ago, I’ve recorded them and sounds surprisingly good. I’m in the process of getting my old band back together to record over the internet.

navfree’s good enough for me – if (very odd occasion – one ways or closed roads) it can’t take you right to the door you can at least see on the map where you need to be and how to do so

free and doesn’t need data streaming

If it’s not good enough then I suspect you’ll want tomtom

    This.

I use navfree and googlemaps nav on the odd occasion when I need to. Looks like a company car is looming now, so I’m weighing up the options (tax) of going built in or not. TBH, comfy seats and a decent engine are more important.

A mate of mine had a diesel x type estate, it was nice enough to travel in, but the boot opening was so small I couldn’t get my bike in with the front wheel in, the bars wouldn’t fit.

    Rack job methinks.

On the subject of ford engines, I used to have an st24 2.5l V6 back in the day, it was great at the time, but I was dreaming this weekend and looking at the new 320d tourers. They’re as fast, but do 3 times the mpg and put out less CO2 than my current i30, WTF! Only 32,000 reasons why I didn’t buy one there and then.

As long as you don’t take the piss you can tether on a 3 contract, I have a few times without issues, when we were away a few months ago I let the mrs use my unlimited data as she’s only got 100mb. AFAIK, they’ll spot pretty much straight away if you use a laptop, but if you’re tethered to an ipad or other mobile device they aren’t too bothered.

My old c-max only drank shell, not v-power I’m too poor, but the normal stuff. It stuttered and burped constantly on supermarket fuel so it was a no brainer.

My Hyundai doesn’t give a toss.

Brassneck and brooess, I think you’re both right. I’m not jacking in road riding completely, but it’s taking a back seat for a while. I think the key is to rotate your vices.

It’s peaked for me. I got into riding again by commuting and sportives and the like but I’ve kind of had enough now. There’s a lot of aggro with drivers these days and much more of an us v them mentality than there was 5 years ago.

I’ve ridden my mtb much more this year than my road bike. And I’ve got no real desire to buy anything new for my roadie, all my spending plans are for getting dirty. Especially now the boss has approved of me taking my bike on family holidays. Yay!

Slitting mill. Just by the start of follow the dog. Lovely peaceful area, commutable into Birmingham with handy train links to everywhere.
Just round the corner from where I am now.

I’d always wanted to move to Cornwall, but its too far from Scotland and vice versa

I’m in the same boat as loads of others. I’ve got regrets, but I wouldn’t change anything.
As it is I’ve got no money and a career that I hate and can’t see any way out of. But I’ve got two mental, fantastic kids that make everything all right, a best friend for a wife and a roof over my head.

    Happy days.
