I got an LG one from Sainsbury’s last christmas (the wife was ill and sent me to pick up some nappies  )It’s pretty good.

It’s better than our old Sony anyway, we watch a lot of cartoons these days and the ghosting or whatever it’s called was awful on the Sony, hardly any on the lg. It’s a cinema 3D one too, so now Sky3D is free we can watch the attenborough stuff in 3D which is fun. The odd film too. I’m not sure how much it cost, but it was less than £500 with a 3D blu ray player and some bread and nappies.

I’m struggling to think of a bad documentary to be fair.

Senna, TT3D, Man on wire, Bowling for columbine, all of the Werner Herzog ones I’ve seen…

can we class coffee and cigarettes as a documentary, just so I can mention it.

Our house had Karndean in when we moved in 9 years ago. Our house still has Karndean in (under carpets in some rooms now) and it looks as good now as it did the day we moved in.

If you like laminate it’s badass. We’re more carpet people, but god knows how we’d go about getting it up without wrecking the floorboards upstairs

70% Northern (Hull-ish). I’ve said before that Cannock has northern aspirations. That’s why everyone rides orange 5s

Never had a problem with my i30, it’s used as a shopping trolley most of the time about 100 miles per week. However I couldn’t be sure that it has a dpf. There’s conflicting info on the internet, we even struggled to get wipers for it.

Asha’s is good, went there for lunch last Christmas, really cheap at lunch times too.

For a really cheap curry, Milans the other side of the queensway from Asha’s does an all you can eat buffet at lunch for a fiver, nice it is too.

I’ve got a Timbuk2 that I’ve had for 2 or 3 years, it’s as good as new, totally waterproof and fit’s loads in (mine’s a medium)

I’d definitely buy another, I got mine cheap in a slightly iffy colour but I’d be happy to pay the full whack for one now I’ve seen how good they are.

I love it. But I’m still a child. My parents are getting older so I can see the day when I won’t be getting cash for bike stuff at christmas. Then I’ll hate it.

    Purnells, definitely.

Edit – Where are you staying? Could make a bit of difference. Also, german market will be on by then so you could give her a massive sausage.

I went from an old HTC desire to an iphone 4 and regretted it soon after. the iphone lasted 4 months before i sold it and bought a galaxy s2 then an s3.

I’ve got ipads, but I’m not going to go back to an iphone when I can get a nexus for half the price.

@freddy, I had a C-max a while ago that was the same, like you say you get used to it fairly quickly, but I think it’s bad that a ‘premium’ brand does something so slapdash. They don’t even bother to swap it on A4s with a proper handbrake, and I’m fairly sure the e-brake is the wrong side. Slack.

If you’ve got boys you’ll be spending £700 per month on trousers. As soon as they get to school trouser knees disappear at an alarming rate.

I’m waiting to see the company car rules for my new job but these two are at the top of my wishlist.

The main thing the BMW has over the skoda for me is that BMW bother swapping the handbrake over for RHD cars which VAG don’t and it really pisses me off

Also, the company car tax on the skoda is about £30 a month less, but that handbrake, AAAARRRGGGGHHHHHH!

I have the opposite problem, I’m allowed to claim for lunch, but only if we have a staff canteen, but we don’t, and I bring sandwiches anyway. I think I’m about £8 a week out of pocket.

Mmm, Although, the road bike isn’t as nice as the race bike which is possibly the prettiest race bike ever. The mirrors are a bit gash.

Wouldn’t have one though, I like to watch but I wouldn’t want to have one of my own, kinda like pornstars.

Is it possible to get a monthly pass/subscription for sports?
No, it’s £9.99 for a day (24 hour) pass. I can get 3 pints and a bag of crisps for that in my local which has Sky Sports and people to talk to instead of sitting at home.

Good point, I thought £9.99 was steep but if it means I can avoid people it’s a bargain. :D

£90odd per month for a family of 4 in a 90’s 3 bed semi. Wife is constantly whinging about the cold though so it’d be cheaper if I got rid of her. Bought her a slanket a couple of years ago, that brought the bill down a bit.

I get a bit sad thinking about this, but know that one day I will have my little enclave for listening – properly listening – to music

    This.

One day, probably just have some proper headphones and a comfy chair. I can’t remember the last time I just listened to music. I always seem to be doing something else at the same time.

Ooh hang on, is this who would we want to be? Or who would we be if I were a cartoon?

If it’s the latter, I’m more Bob from Bob’s Burgers.

Ooh, I’ve always fancied a 456. For some reason the idea of a 4 seater always appealed to me even when I was at school.

Can’t afford it either though, I couldn’t even afford a 456 evo frame let alone that.

I love this, kids got me the triple play for Father’s Day a couple years ago when we just had a DVD player, loved it. Got a blu ray player, watched again even better, got a 3d tv at Christmas last year, cor blimey!

If the wife nods off (which she will) I’ll watch it again.

P.S. If guy’s not on the autistic spectrum I’ll eat my Giro. (Thank god I didn’t buy a Bell 8O )

Can’t wait for the clocks to go back, looking forward to lighter mornings again. We should change it back in the spring, I can go for some epic rides before work in the summer then.
