So, they change everything else, apart from the bit that was broken?

You reckon molgrips has had the FIA looking at his passat?

The muddy off piste sections look like that even in summer, it’s like the fire roads and FtD and Monkey drain directly on to any unofficial trails (which don’t exist, obviously)

There’s a mental fire road descent down from glacial boulder towards the stream at the bottom of the valley, I very rarely go over that way, I’ve only ridden it twice, but I’ve nearly mullered myself 50% of the time.

Neither, I check with her if she minds whether I go out or not if she hasn’t got anything planned, she does the same. It works.

People externally often think I have to ask permission, I don’t know f her friends think the same but that’s not how it is. I think many of my friends and work colleagues can’t understand that I would rather spend time with my wife (who is my best friend) than getting pissed in town spending money that I’d rather spend on bike bits.

    People are stupid.

Wrap up, I like mountain biking when it’s been dry for a bit, cold frosty mornings are lovely.

Funnily enough I feel safer on the road bike in the dark in the mornings, a couple of big flashing lights on the back and I’ve had no problems (touch wood) just need to be wary when the sun is low and the road is wet.

Running is crap, but is better than nothing.

The Gym is soul destroying but warm.

    Otherwise, migrate south.

As a motor insurance underwriter I can confirm it doesn’t affect your insurance premium, either through reducing your ncd or as counting as a claim. I had one for a Nissan GTR and the screen cost over a grand, still a windscreen though, so the claim was ignored at renewal.

Cadbury world is good, best to book in advance though, we tried to go for the wife’s birthday and there was a 4 hour wait for a tour.

The sealife centre is really good.

The german market is great, although we took our two kids (one autistic and one probably autistic) and it was probably the worst two hours of my life. It was depressing watching the other families enjoy themselves while my kids were spinning around and moaning about everything. So I’d only recommend going there if your kids are ok with crowds.

I worked in a bed warehouse for 2 years after finishing failing my A levels, I loved it, it was hard (order picking beds for **** sake) but I lost all the weight I put on when I discovered beer, had a great time and met some good friends that I’m still in contact with 12-13 years later.

We didn’t have the scanner beeping though, we had Cliff, with hinges tattooed on the inside of his elbows snarling at us to get the fckin job done. Weekly pay, one weeks notice, no sick pay, £4.50 an hour (at the time) During the January sales I once worked from 7am to 11:30pm with a 30 min lunch break and was back in at 7 the next day. Needed the over time to pay the bills then.

Have you tried stevia in camomile tea with soy milk?

I knew a woman who drank this, haven’t heard from her for a while though, looked a bit peaky last time I saw her, wonder if she’s ok.

Let’s face it, whatever they do with the rules, there’s too much money and publicity at stake in formula 1 for it to be really entertaining. It’s like the Tour de France, the default position is the safest, there’s less of the win it or bin it attitude these days because drivers know that someone will be willing to take their seat, and it’s better for teams to follow everyone elses strategy and come fourth rather than tying something else that could pay off or leave them 18th.

Formula one is what it is, enjoy it for that, then when it’s finished watch the V8 supercars or the BTCC.

The new engine regs should be very interesting, there will be a lot more manufacturers interested again I would have thought as the tech in the new engines can be transferred much more easily to road cars.

I’m looking forward to the new breed of 1.6 hot hatches with 800bhp

Only at night on my own the same as others, doesn’t make me ride faster though, sh1tting myself at the sounds in the woods makes me ride fastest.

I do find it harder to judge grip though with music on, it’s surprising how much you rely on the sound of the tyres.

Best tv show ever, bar none.
    Except maybe ‘The Wire’.

    Did I mention ‘The Wire’?

Watching the wire now, finished season 4 tonight, I agree it’s fantastic, it’s hard to pick between the two but I’d give it to BB by a nose. I don’t think I’ll bother watching tv any more after season 5, doesn’t seem worth it.

Edit – The Sopranos! ain’t seen any of that yet, phew.

Wotsits, with a side of Bernard Matthews American Fried chicken on warburtons supertoasty dripping in mayo. That’s how I got so fat at sixth form. That and beer anyway.

Can’t you just yoink the chin piece down? Serious question, I’m sure I’ve seen the MX/SuperX lot do it. Or don’t their lids fit properly?

I use my usb chargers for everything, don’t know if I should but they all seem to work fine. I just grab whatever cable and whatever adapter is closest, haven’t had a problem so far. The right combo normally charges faster, but as long as you’re charging something ‘proper’ the device should regulate the charge it’s self.

I took nothing with either of mine, I wasn’t particularly bored or hungry. With the second the boss went into labour in the night and she was born before 7, I thought we’d make it for a maccies breakfast on the way home but they must have changed shifts at 7 and we were left waiting around. Finally got home about 8 o’clock in the evening. I had a snickers for lunch.

So my advice is take money, and food. There’s normally a newsagents downstairs where you can pick up a magazine or something

I’ve used M520 A520 and 105 SPD SLs on my road bike and I can honestly say I can’t tell any significant difference between any of them. Personally I’d go for the M520’s then even if one of the mechanisms packs up (which is unlikey anyway to be fair) you can still happily finish your ride.

I changed to road pedals last year on my road bike, I’ve been considering changing back since about march.

I prefer the BBB ones to the Endura’s, I always found the enduras a right game to get on, and the zip only lasted one winter for me.

The BBB’s have a open bottom with a velcro strap across the middle so they’re loads easier to get on and off (and you can use them with skates, those crazy dutchies!)

Ours was maybe 5 grand. We had some nice stuff, we had some stuff bought for us. We had a late weeding so we only had a late meal and no evening do. 20 people but at a really nice place.

It’s really mental how much you can spend on a wedding. If you’re set on spending £10k and you’re fine with that, it’s do able, you just have to make sure you don’t get carried away with the little things. If people say to spend more because it should be the happiest day of your life, they’re talking sh1t, as long as you’re marrying the person you want and the people you want are there you’ll both love it.

The little things that cost the money at our wedding I hardly remember, if at all.

The short Gabba top. What is the highest temp. you could wear it in without dying!?

Castelli say 18 deg, but itailians are a bit wet when it comes to temp ranges so I’d say anything much above 10 would be uncomfortable. But that is my experience of other italian estimates, I’ve not tried a gabba.

I was amazed at the amount of off piste trails I saw at kirroughtree, especially as there was no one riding on the main trails. Didn’t do any exploring though, I was on my own, had no phone signal and no clue where I was, so I couldn’t tell you if it was worth doing.

The last half of the black, from the top of the big hill after the road crossing is awesome, I thought the rest was fair to middling if I’m honest.

molgrips, just buy a cheap winter one. Cycle-clothing.co.uk are pretty thin, and the aldi one’s are hardly brushed at all.

Fourth for the Gabba, but I’d go short sleeve with nanoflex arm warmers-

Edit, that said, if you run hot and you’re not bothered about waterproofness any log sleeve jersey and a range of baselayers, even decathlon are doing a windstopper one now. I tend to go sortsleeve jersey, baselayer arm warmers and gilet almost all winter

Used to use them canoeing, or rather I didn’t because they were too hot. I’ve been half tempted to get some for road biking, but the big one’s with multiple hand positions are well expensive, and my hands don’t get so cold on the mtb.

Not quite as good but when I was at 6th form I went to see Slipknot at the Civic in wolverhampton and the DJ did two stage dives off the balcony, the second one was a front flip. I think someone got hurt at that gig, but I may be mistaken.

As has been said Three are one of the better ones now. Got my galaxy s3 through them earlier this year and I’m not looking to swap, athough I’d go on the one plan if I could change now. I have tethered and not been busted, but I’d like to be able to do it without worrying.

There have been a couple of places where I’ve had no reception but not many, and to be honest it’s improved over the course of the year.

About 4 years ago I was on 3 and swore I’d never go back, but it seems they’ve really improved

Snowing on cannock chase this morning, didn’t stick though. When I was a nipper I remember snow around bonfire night being fairly normal. And a couple of years ago it was snowing in October.

    Late winter this year, definitely.

The snow jackets on the Animal ebay shop were great last year, I got a 10,000mm waterproof one for walking to work which is properly waterproof (i’ve tested it a few times) and really warm.

A girl at work has just got a Samsung Galaxy Fame, I had a play with it and it was pretty decent. £80 on payg at the moment, but you probably have to put £20 credit on or something.

Other than that the hauwayueusuiaieieiei ascends look pretty decent. Probably would be better in most respects.

I went from S2 to S3 and it was significantly better. There are a few improvements on the S4 over the S3 but not enough to make me want to pay for them.

The screen for example looks shoot on the S2 after you’ve had the S3 in your hands for more than a few minutes. Didn’t really notice the difference in size

What have you been doing in the last three years? Some insurers are pretty helpful if they think they’re going to get a sale.

Yup, lease costs depend on the residual value of the car too, a similarly specced Mondeo won’t cost much less to lease than a 3 series despite being about £10k less to buy.
