If you’ve got an iPhone, there are a few options to use one as an action cam, perfect for the Audi/orange 5 brigade :P

For normal people, there’s nothing, and the iPhone ones cost as much as a basic action cam, I’ve just got the wife to order me a rollei youngstar from 7dayshop, only £30, not amazing but I won’t be crying when it gets smashed.

Try not shutting down the background apps, if they’re not finished working android will fire them all up again and use even more memory. If that doesn’t work, bin it off, np but I’d swap it for another one, I’d have thought it was faulty rather than being that bad

I recommend stopping in at Marburry Smokehouse on the way back from Mabie for bangin fish and chips. Smoked salmon in batter, tried it today, really good. Just go easy on the salt.

I like to talk to women as if I am the sexiest thing on planet earth.

Sometimes they start to belive the lie themselves, this leads to awkwardness at work social occasions.

I’ve not been up the cop yet. Will my bike hack it? It’s a Rockrider 9.1 FS from Decathlon. Don’t want to bend it.

If so, anyone ride early (like 6am) at weekends that fancies babysitting me in a few weeks?

@surroundedbyhills it’s a real bed company :D piss takers after my own heart. Ahhhhh.

Bensons is where I used to work, bak in the day though before they got taken over by whoever owns them now. Don’t know what the new stuff is like. If they still sell anything made by Take avoid it like the plague. Horrible stuff.

Ooh I’m getting my next bed from here

I used to work for a bed company when I left school. The beds are worth the sale price generally. I can’t think of any time the beds were anywhere near the ‘was’ price.

There are occasions you can get a bargain but normally just buy what is comfortable. I always reccomend Relyon or Millbrook but there are others that are top banana too.

Sealy/slumberland/silent night are all budget stuff.

I’m 30, my youngest is 3. I feel too old most days. Little bastards.

At the opposite end, My wife is 35, her dad is 83. He’s always been fine. So it’s probably more my kids, than what age you are.

Grew up in the 80’s/Early 90’s my first full size bike was when MTBs were trendy. Bought a copy of MBUK in about 1992/3 for the free gift (a plastic chainstay guard, oh yeah) and just kept going.

Packed in when I discovered cars and booze, started roadie commuting to get the weight off when I was 25ish. Packed in the commute a couple of years later but now ride for fun. I’ve got seriously into MTB again about 18 months ago. Mainly because of follow the dog over the chase which I can ride a mile to to join halfway.

Now I’ve got 4 bikes, no money and scarred legs. Joy.

    Anybody do night road cycling?

Not really, too many nobs out at night, I go cycling in the morning before the sun comes up though all through the winter, it’s great you have the roads pretty much to yourself. Here’s a picture I took on new years day this year

I don’t find any helmet hot or cold particularly now I’ve got hair again.

I’ve got a Met Sine Thesis for the Road and a Giro Feature for off road and they’re both sweaty if it’s hot. Infact, the only time I notice any airflow at all is when it’s cold.

I rode my old road bike on gravel tracks, you only need CX clearances for mud.

I took a wrong turn once and rode it down a fire road on the chase for a mile or so, wasn’t a problem at all.

1.probably, but there is more potential for fat burning as well due to the lack of carbs

    2. depends what you mean by long, I’ll do anything up to about an hour and a half comfortably. Over that and I have suffered. Also I’m not going to try and blag that I’m as quick without a bit of food inside me.

I’ve been on and off the leangains method for a bit (year or so) but more off than on recently as I’ve got down to a healthy weight and I’m lacking motivation.

Normally I eat at about 7 o’clock in the evening, then nothing until 12 the following day. Today I thought I’d have breakfast as a treat, was starving by 10:30 had my lunch at 11 and another unplanned snack at 2.

    Breakfast ruins me.

Asus fonpad, you know you want to.

I’ve got a Galaxy S3, which I thought was great at first but now seems too small. Most of the time I use my ipad mini now, but that’s a pain in the arse to carry around without a man bag.

Sorry yeah, the Kirri black is an extension but it runs right by the main road and there is a layby next to the start of the black.

I’m not sure I’d bother with custom tips for normal phones, they’re almost as expensive as some custom iems. Especially when you add in the cost of the universals. Single driver minerva ones are quite reasonable, I think that’s what I’m going for next. Or maybe some dual drivers.

Another option is to buy something cheap, like soundmagic e10 or something and get some comply foam tips. They should stay in.

Had a hole in a tube filled with JRA milk on saturday.I was quite pleased/surprised it was still liquid as it had been in there nearly a year. Still did SFA about the hole though. Stuff spurted everywhere.

You can root all of the nooks to put a version of android on even the e-ink ones which means you can have kobo and kindle apps on board.

I use my ipad mini most of the time with the kindle app. There are many sources of .mobi files on the internet that you can send to the kindle app. So kindle’s are aren’t as closed off as you’d imagine. Also I have no problem reading from the LCD screen, even in bright light.

The wife has a kobo mini, that’s also pretty good.

To be honest, whichever one you like the look of. They’re all pretty good.

    edit –

Worth a read before buying a nook, didn’t know this

As said above, he just packed it in. I always got the impression that he liked the music but not the ‘other stuff’ which it would be mostly these days.

I used to do his car insurance a few years ago, he was still in the uk, driving something un-assuming. I remember on a mini bio of him from the greatest hits video it listed his favourite drink as tea. Sums it up really.

What MTB reccomends 30% sag for the rear in last months mag, which matches what feels best for me, before I thought I was just correcting the mistake of buying the wrong bike.

    Still 20-25% for the front

I’ve got a non lithium battery one, it’s great. Enough charge to do my front and back and then one or the other again. I got it stupidly cheap or I would have had lithium one, and when mine dies I’ll be getting one for sure.

It’s the best way to cut grass IMO, the freedom from cables like a petrol, but without having to worry about maintenance and noise.

Lovely and dry in cannock last night, I was expecting damp sandy dirt, ended up with sand, I was quite surprised. Just started spotting as I was riding home. Need to sort out the lighting situation though.
