Too many to choose from. But as a treat Sam Smith chocolate stout is lovely. Easily the best beer they brew.

Sand piper inn at leyburn is very nice. It’s got excellent food and a couple of nice looking rooms. Serves a decent pint as well. Leyburn is a good spot too. Plenty to do there and good base to explore from. Forbidden corner a shift drive away. Nice circular walk from leyburn to wensley (nice pub at the bottle of the hill on the way back to leyburn too)

Got mine from silvermans around 10 years ago. It’s the one with the battery hatch. Done me well so far. On the second battery, which was changed a couple of years ago. Get replacement straps from time factors based in Sheffield.

Stealing this. That looks perfect for day shifts. What sort of diameter are we talking here? Cup or takeaway tub? (probably doesn’t matter)

Go for it. It’s a corker to eat. Usually sees me good from 8am till almost lunch.
Tend to use a 4″ diameter by 2″ deep pot (roughly). Guess a square Tupperware would be ideal too.
Been buying the frozen berries from Aldi recently. Loads of strawberries and blackberries in there.

    Make this night before.

Plastic pot with lid. Layer in this order. Frozen fruits, granola and fruit yoghurt (alpro almond is nice too). Back in the fridge. When you come to eat it the next day the berries should be defrosted and the yoghurt softened the granola nicely.

Was taking the washing in off the line last night. Few trips in and out of the house. Place she decided to stand and watch was right in the door opening. Then tells me I’m grumpy when i ask her to move FFS.

Know a few lads who ride with Ricky Feather. Not sure if it’s still the same, but a short while back there was around an 18 month wait for a frame.

Joint account for all the bills etc. Rest of the money stays in our own current accounts to do as we please. Seen to many people have arguments when all the wages are lumped into one account.

Ordered some Castelli Toe Thingys from them Tuesday 2nd hoping for a Friday delivery. Needed them for weekend gones ride. Listed as in stock, so was hopeful. Email from them saying they were due to be despatched on Monday 6th. Bugger. Glad the weather wasn’t as bad as I though. Good price though. £5 off a £15 item.

Are you from Liverpool by any chance? Saw both bands numerous times at the flying pickett and the Royal court in Liverpool in the nineties, along with Cancer, Anathema and Cradle of filth they seemded a mainstay of Liverpool Death/doom metal

    Nope, from York actually.
Although did go to the Royal Court once to see Sepultura back in the good old days of Max on vocals. If memory serves me right, supported by Paradise Lost and Strife ??.
Seen a load of bands over the years, but never managed to see Cathedral yet.

Hahaha ok then, will give you that. That Sunn tune is pretty lethargic.
Actually just had a quick listen to the Cathedral Album again (Forest of Equilibrium) and its not as slow as I thought. Mind you, back then I was more into bands like Carcass etc.

Was really into the band Cathedral years ago. Had a few albums, but for some reason never got round to getting the first one.
Got a copy and gave it a listen……………..my god how slow. This was doom metal on another level. I know the singer had left Napalm Death for this band, but this was one extreme to the other haha. Only played it once and went back to there other more uptempo stuff.

Whereabouts are you. The ones Thomas’s bakery do in Yorkshire are really good. Not sure how spread out the shops are though.

Different machine here, but a while ago my Gaggia went overly watery. Turned out after stripping it down the solenoid valve was semi blocked with gunge created by hard water. Cleaned it out and put it back together again. Seemed to fix the issue for me.

New Pentax k50 owner here. Upgraded from a fuji bridge camera a few months ago and loving the learning curve and image quality. Did think about getting a nikon, but have always like to sway away from the norm. Image stabilization in the body was a major selling point for me as it means I can use vintage Pentax lenses. Got one of the old Pentax 50mm f1.7 lenses off eBay for £15 and it’s fantastic. Probably my favourite lens for general use. Image quality is great and can easily get nice bokeh.

Booze up in the Yorkshire Dales is a good one.
Also the whole Thong thing that’s going on in the Holmthirth/Marsden area. Upper Thong, Nether Thong.
But the best one has to be a place down south called………..Bell End.

Was going to say the Huntsman as a great pub. Only been once when visiting a mate in Stocksbridge. We ended up walking there, so beer was very welcome. Cant wait to go back and see what the new landlady is like. Andy was a character.

Not got one to recommend, but one that isn’t that good. The missus has been after one for weeks to clean her car out. Being the tight Yorkshire Lass she is, she didn’t want to spend loads on one.
She ended up with a Vax Gator 10.8v jobbie. Rubbish for stuff on the carpets, but ok for sucking up ash from incense sticks as its super light haha.

Skoda citigo are cheap cars to own. Group 1 or 2 insurance depending on the spec. Get them insured fully comp then add yourself to the policy as a named driver. Did that to the missus when she passed and it dropped the premium by over £100 a year.

Habe a set of the original SR80 (pre I and e models). Changed the stock pads after a while to ones that are deeper and wider. Think its G cushion. Might be wrong though. Sound brilliant with most music, but handle rock really well. Demoed some 325e but decided they were not worth the extra money over the 80s. The 225e are meant to be nice though.

Walk up to Heptonstall is a lung buster. Trip to The White Lion and Cross Inn whilst you are there is even better.

For some reason HB tends to get fully booked up in the B&B department a fair bit.
Live in York and we like to come over for the odd weekend every now and then. Not unusual for me to go down the list of places to stay on the hebweb website and find the bulk of them booked up.

Not much help but have a look at this and see if anything is free

Complained about a National Express coach driver once.
I was a passenger heading from London to York. As soon as we got on the bus he told everyone if he catches them eating he will chuck them off the bus and not to use the toilet as hes just cleaned it. Further into the trip he got into a spat with a car, did a silly over take move then swerved into it pretending to side swipe it. Not good with a coach load of people.
Anyhow, emailed National Express. Got a response back saying he was a contract driver that they will not be using again and send me a voucher for a free trip. Not bad.
