I’ve got a pair of Meindl Burmas. Was going to get another model, but after a proper fit in the shop these were better suited to my feet. Had them probably 3 years now and not one blister. Only negative is the goretex lining means my feet can get really hot. Probably go for a non goretex one next time and keep them waxed up.

Was going to mention the vittoria zaffiro. Cheap enough for commuting and saw me ok through winter.

There’s a blog on the internet somewhere about someone trying to fix creeky cranks. Think the solution that worked was a super thin spacer next to the wobbly washer. It’s 42nm to re torque.

Saw a bloke last year who was warm up act for 3 main acts. Headliner was Jared Christmas, who turned out to be pants. Infact this guy was far better than all the main comedians that night. His name is Dan Nightingale. He’s a fan of audience participation and singled some poor girl out with hilarious results

dont know to be honest. its on the more expensive groupsets, chorus to super record so must be better right . I’ve installed a hollowtech 2 bottom bracket on my mountain bike, and that too was easy enough for me. guess the italians like doing things differently.

Just installed a Chorus chainset on my new bike. Lovely bit if machining on the hirth joint. Whole installation was painless too. Found bearing pullers for when the time comes for a semi ok price too.

When I went for a few days I ate in a fantastic place called Veneria il Chianti. Beautiful food and the best pizza I have ever had. Its not far from the Trevi fountain, along a street called Via del Lavatore (nice). Looking at the fountain, turn right 90 degrees and keep walking. Its in an setback in the buildings on the left hand side.

We’ve stayed there a few times (partner grew up in the area).
Holme House B&B according to their website will be closed till after xmas. Moyles are hoping to back up and running within 3 months. But realistically its going to be 6 months they think. Guessing lots of other businesses might be saying the same.

Yeah it does seem pointless power torque, when ultra torque already existed. Ditching the idea of taking it off now. Plans are to fix ultra torque chorus to a new frame I have ordered. Its a BB30, so need adapter cups and a 14mm allen key. Nice and simple :O)

Need to listen to some Doom metal. Think the first Cathedral album might do the trick. Mind you thinking about it, you might start getting passed by the Micra brigade :D

My best, or should that be worst no call was from a bike shop in York I went to a few years back. Went in on my way home from work and spoke to the owner about him building a bike for me. Basic spec was a Giant carbon one, with dura ace group set. Budget around 2k. He took my details, and said he will call back in a couple of days with a price for me. Waited till the end of the week and no call. Called the shop and owner not in. So staff took my details and said they will get him to call me back. No call ever came. So I took my money elsewhere. Ended up spending over 2.5k on a more unique bike (was at the time).

Large snickers and can of coke. Saw me good for the last 20 miles of a 105 mile road ride after I was starting to see stars. One hour to do the 20 as well lol.

Yup, diluted juice. Some salt and a dash of honey. Instant simple carbs for energy boost (honey) and isotonic anti cramp magic (salt)

Try a carbon seatpost. I recently installed one in my 456 that was a spare from my road bike. It’s transformed the ride loads. The ride feels much smoother now.

Saw that vulcan fly about 2 years ago. Sat in the back garden having a nice beer one summer. Heard this really throaty roar of something meaty heading my my at lowish altitude. Stood up, turned round to see the Vulcan headed my way. Straight over the house almost. I went ballistic. My lass was non plussed :?

Quality. Is that pub in Heptonstall still more or less a Timmy Taylors pub.
