I like Shades Of God by PL. Not really heard their stuff since then.

Check out the new one “Tragic Idol” its good, very good. Vocals not growling anymore, but muscially its harking back to the older style. Would say its one of the best albums they have produced.

Another one for Metallica Load and Reload. They got massive flack for these albums. But ignoring anything they recorded before and take them for what they are. I think they have some amazing songs. Bleeding me and outlaw torn are awesome. Imagine a totally new band writing songs like that, they would have been applauded.

Got crests. Got smorgasbords rear, chunkymonkey front. Went up perfectly with ghetto inflator and stans sealant. Been around 4 weeks now and not lost much pressure.

Blind swine is brill. Really good food and cocktail tasting menu. Been about 3 times now. Its a 6 month waiting list for a fri/sat table. Mid week is easier to get in though.

Theres the Punchbowl almost opposite. Food isnt so bad (think its a Nicklesons pub) and beer is nice. Think its a choice of about 4 real ales.

Might be in the same position myself. Same as you, keep coming back to the Pompino. If I did get one though, it would be specced with the drop bars and upgrade brakes.

Evil Eye is still open. Not sure its totally youngster friendly though. Brigante has recently been refurbished with a new large dining area away from the main bar. So should be great for having a kid with you. Fancy a pint and a bite to eat myself now haha.

WTF?! I’m £460 a year for my mile-munching ’02, Volvo S80D. Never had an accident, 40 this year, at least 12 years no claims… I’m gonna buy one of these toy cars.

I was gobsmacked at how cheap I managed to get it for her. Was on a comparison website. Prices ranged from £287 to around £2500. She’s 37 by the way. Out of interest (even though my insurance is up for renewal in March) I entered my car details. Its a BMW 116i new this march. Currently payed £275. Managed to get it down to £155 if I tweaked the mileage a tad. Apparently insurance prices had dropped according to a BBC news article.

Guess what. My lass has just bought her very first car. Its the citigo lol. Driven by it a few times. Not that bad tbh. Handles well, nice frugal engine. 100 miles on the clock of town driving and average mph almost showing 55. She got it on a 0% finance deal that ends sept 1st. Zero road tax as she has the 75bhp greentech. Oh, and £287 a year to insure with me as a named driver. She has only held her license for 5 weeks.

Thinking… train from Manchester to Hudds n back pub-crawling every station (inc. Stalybridge) next weekend

Be cracking day out as long as the stag/hen do lager crowd dont mob the trains. Heard a while back it was getting to be a problem with massive crowds of “non” real ale drinkers. Think a plan to combat it was to not serve any lagers. This was a few months back now, so not sure what it will be like now. Partners work mate said at the Marsden platform, Slaithwaite side they were cueing up the steps over the bridge waiting for a train. Nightmare.

Whenever we went through Huddersfield it was always the head of steam. Last time thought we dif that and the other one. Forgot the name. Is it the kings head. Far better pub. Was rough round the edges with a cracking beer selection and some lively local types. Perfect.

Just ordered a new pair from Asda. Current pair got from them and been fine for the past two years. Cheaper now than two years ago as well. Eye test for £15 and one pair of designer glasses £70, two pairs for £99. Come with anti reflective coatings as standard.

Many years ago i spent a week in Croatia all by myself. Was really nice actually. Didn’t eat and drink a massive amount. Read a few books and did lots of walking. Think i ended up coming home a few pounds lighter.

Bit the bullet the other week after months of procrastination. Ordered the Taiwan Tmars one though. If its as easy to service as people say, then for the money I dont think I can go wrong.

My lass just got a new first car. Not a golf. But a Skoda Citigo. Minimal deposit on 0% finance. Stupidly cheap car to buy and run.

I did this earlier this year. Not regretted it one bit. Really really impressed with my C456. Just needed to buy a new seatclamp and headset as the head tube in the C456 is tapered. Oh and if you are using the your old seat post you will need a shim. The USE plastic ones are perfect.

Got a new car in march paying £275 so not able to renew. But for curiosity I went on confused.com the other day and go quoted £165 as the lowest. This interest was sparked due to a BBC news article stating that car insurance has dropped. Be sods law it shoots back up next march.

I’ve got a Bryton rider 50. Used it on the road and for off road. For off road its a gpx install of the ride. Then when riding its a follow the line affair. Works really well. Got me round a 20 odd mile ride in the NY moors no problem.
Think they do a more expensive one than mine that has OS mapping.

Had juicy 3’s. Hated them. So got some bb7’s. Much happier but still not totally into them. Bit the bullet and got some m596’s. Really really pleased. Loads better than both avids. Got zero urge to tinker or change now.

On a serious note. I ran a Bell sweep for a number of years. Got on with it really well. Changed to a Specialized Echelon last year, and its a good fit. Got a mountain bike helmet the other month, a Scott one. Fits taking some getting used to. So maybe look at Specialized.

Im 5’8″ and weigh less than 11 stone. My mate is around 6 foot and probaby closer to 14 stone than 13.
Both on road bikes. I have always pulled away from him on a freewheeling descent.
Actually we were just talking about this lastnight. Think his theory was he’s a little nervous and I tend to go with it more.

    Jim beat me to it.

I had a bike fit from York Cycleworks last year.
Was getting really bad knee pain. Turning the cranks was a struggle
and 10mph was about all I could manage.

Went to see Sam, was booked in for a 2-3 hour session. Took measurements, tested flexibility etc. Then did the bike fit, cleat set up. Ended up with some new parts.
Went for a ride and the knee ache was gone. Just got in from a 30 mile ride and knees were fine. So money well spent imho.

I’ve got both. The top one is the cardigan and isnt really bike wear as is a slacker fit and doesnt have pockets at the back.
Bottom one is the cycling jersey. Tighter and has back pockets.
