Profit margin has been tiny. Around 5-10% just to get the orders then. Then that’s where it starts to go wrong. Case of too many chiefs and not enough Indians.

Not a dilemma anymore. More or less decided to go even if my job is safe. Whos to say in a few months time when the new guys plan is failing more people including him will get the boot.
First interview tomorrow is for a company that sounds great at developing staff. Think its a no brainer tbh. Even my lass has come round now lol.

    Cheers again.

Just got off the phone from an agency. Got another interview lined up from tomorrow straight after the other one.

Boss just been on the phone. Gist is, the new CEO wants to move the company from a potential 12 million turnover to 8 million with the aim of making some profit. Staffing levels are to big to maintain. Levels have been calculated and my section of 5 people stands to lose 1. Its all on a points system, so fair I guess.

Binners. Thats my thoughts exactly. I know the boss values me and my work. But at the end of the day im just a monetry value. And the cheapest one regarding redundancy package at that.
Just tried to call my boss now to see if he has any info. The announcment hit him for six yesterday as he thought we were out of the mire, and was about to approach the CEO with a 1 year plan to reduced lead time by almost 75%.

Cheers guys. As you said I would be a fool not to try for them. Only negative, and its a minor one (Seeing as one interview is with a massive International company) is that the commute for both is 28 miles. Currently doing 3 miles and home in 10 minutes. Done the drive years ago, and was happy with living close to work.

Edit. The redundancy package will be UK standard one. Only been permanent staff member for 1.5 years so payout will be small. Guessing I might actually be on the list as it wont cost them much to get rid of may compared to some of the 20+ year people.

Italian hot chocolate totally threw my lass out. Ordered on expecting UK style. She got the typical gloopy chocolate syrup. She hated it, I thought it was nice.
Had a nice coffee in a cafe round the corner from the end of Via Flavia in Roma. Happy with the price paid as the barista was insisting we sit down to drink it lol.

Beverley isnt bad when compared to York. Got its own mini minster. Used to live there for a year, so cant comment on places to stay. Good pub for music is the Sun Inn. Normally free entry. Good pub for a massive range of ale is the Corner House. If you want a proper old old old pub then check out Nellies (White Horse Inn). Its Sam Smiths, but inside is stunning. Super old with roaring fires and gas lights still.
Usual places to eat with two swanky places nearby. Whites slap bang in the middle of the town centre. One michelin star The Pipe and Glass not far away in South Dalton.

Edit. Just checked distance from Matlock and its 80.4 miles haha 😆

Thought I would give a “bum bag” a try myself. So got one of these (comes with the bottles)

Got it from blacks for half this price. Think they are all sold out now though.

For drinking I got a source convertube, so can still ride and sup. Not tried it yet, but looks like its going to be ok.

Which crossroads Wolly? There’s a lot of crossroads between Boroughbridge & Wiggington!

The one im on about is on York road just as you leave Boroughbridge. Just looked on googlemaps street view and its slap bang on a graveyard and church.

So did you use the even spookier backroad through Skelton?

The one that comes out by Wiggington. If so, yes done it a few times. Never felt anything apart from the bumpy road surface 😆

Used to get a funny vibe when in the car approaching and leaving the cross roads after Boroughbridge on the B6265 road. Used to make me shudder and look in my rear view mirror. Was always at night (driving home from a mates in Ripon) and always happened on that crossroads. Stopped driving on that road in the end.

My lass convinced me to use moisturiser a while back. So, every day after a shower slap it on. Then I got a bacterial infection. Look like acne but wasnt. Doc recommend slapping to fucidin cream on. Didnt really work.
For the past week i’ve been washing in water and thats it. No soap or anything else. Infection has cleared up and skin feels fine and not dry. Works for me just water, but might not for others.

Got a good one, its a Danish comedy called Klown (Klovn). Really really funny. Pretty adult humour though, so not one to watch with the kids. Final scene is a cracker.

Not kitchen related but staff related here. Was driving from York to Beverley a few weeks ago and got stuck behind a long line of traffic with a wren kitchen car in front of me. Driver was driving like a massive bell end. Really aggressive to other road users. Good advert for the company. Would have been enough for me to not consider then if I was looking for a kitchen.

Was going to the say the Lion at Blakey ridge. Pretty much the only building in the area. Good number of rooms that look well turned out. Good quality pub grub (was a couple of years back anyhow) and nice atmosphere. Good location for seeing other spots. Easy drive to York and the coast.
Edge of the countryside, have you looked into Pickering. Or slap bang on the coast theres Sandsend, plus its next to the moors.

Watching a cooking programe on tv once. Presenter was in a Michelin one star restaurant in Rome. Chef was using De Cecco linguine. If its good enough for a one star restaurant then its ok for me.

Cheers. I’ve ordered the Bialetti Tuttocrema.

Nice one. Its a cracking bit of kit with nowt much to go wrong really. Just dont heat the milk with the lid on obviously, and rinse under a tap asap. Left on for a while once and it went a bit pongy. Took ages to get rid of the gone off milk smell.

Actually recommended one to a mate once. He wasnt that happy with how it frothed. Turned out he was pouring cold milk and and pumping away hahahaha.

    Bialetti Tuttocrema for me.
Fill it with milk, heat milk on the pan. Pump handle
till a nice frothy consistency is acheived. Find them
really good at making hot chocolate from cocoa powder as
    well.

Really like the white lion pub in heptonstall. Great choice of beers. First pint normally goes down well if you have walked up from Hebden Bridge. Our lass just said the fox and hounds is good as its a cooperative pub.
