If you’ve got a morning to spare, then i would highly recommend stopping at Garmisch Partenkirchen and taking a trip up to the top of the Zugspitze on the cable car. Fantastic views and sledging on big inner tubes available at the top, even at the height of summer, for the adventurous. A really nice part of the world.

@Mr smith, if i knew everything i wouldn’t bother posting on STW. Thank you of informing me that all Apple products are Multi voltage, i didn’t know.

Well, apart from the fact you can’t pop it back to the store if it goes wrong, it will also charge at 110V so you would need to have an inverter/transformer to charge it in the UK. i think it’s not worth the hassle IMO.

Why does it look like it was welded together by a five year old?? The finish of the welding is very poor.

You obviously need to spend lots of money on a new carbon bike and  then upgrade the wheels straight away.

I’ll be there again! What tyres?? I’m bringing the Racing ralphs, the nobby nics and the trailrakers just in case it ends up like last year again. I’m the slow one riding with the Manx mountain bike club lads. :D

There’s a site called Tickets for troops.org.uk that does some excellent deals for serving HM forces personnel. Were not quite up there with the Yanks, but it’s a good start.

I have recently built a Kinesis Maxlight pro xc3 as a 3*9 with reasonably priced XTR group set from Merlin. The 9 speed prices are still fluctuating but there is good buys to be had if you look around. 9 speed should get cheaper as the next big thing come August 1st will no doubt be 2 x 11 Or 1×11 for those with cash to burn. X27 is always going to be better than x20 or x22 isn’t it???

Gore free ride are really good and hard wearing. I’ve had a set for 3 years and they’re still going strong. £34.99 a pair but worth it in the long run.

I’ve got the TI leather spoon on all three of my bikes. The oldest is 3 years + and still going strong with the occasional polish. Great saddle IMO.

Use a 4″ angle grinder with a specific cutting blade (they’re much thinner than a normal grinding blade)so that you don’t damage the chain.

+1 for the Charge spoon. Have them on both MTBs and the road bike. The leather finish model is very hard wearing and still going strong after 2 years with the occasional polish.
