Tried the “Wessex” pads on eBay for my elixirs. Great in the dry, but scream like piggies in the wet. A shame because they’re cheap as chips!

Not jealous, but, certain Manxies have been posting gratuitous photos of themselves on Facebook, riding with the one & only Guy Martin on Nort Barrule. wish I still lived there  (but not in the winter as it sucks!)

it’s not the bike it’s the rider at the end of the day. I’ve got a friend who raced the Ten at Kirroughtree last year on his Remedy as his race hard tail ( scott scale) was kaputt. He finished 7th overall beating a lot of the Jeyboy Xcore racers (to be fair he is also a very fast Jeycore racer) So if you’ve got the legs you won’t go wrong with a remedy. But for us average joes there’s no real deal I’m afraid. I own a Remedy but it’s not as fast as his, but neither is my Kinesis XC pro 3 or my fuel ex!

Thats the price for one bearing. i tried to replace my first set with a socket and wrecked one of the bearings. Ended up buying the bearing tools from 18 Bikes. There used to be a guy on here from Wales who replaced the bearings via post at cost of the bearings. Can’t remember his name or find him on google though i’m afraid.

The internal diameter of the clamp is 21.50mm. The external diameter of a joystick light is 23.50mm. Measured with a vernier calliper. I’m bored and you owe me a beer :D

Simple, solid, stable and i would say aesthetically pleasing

Yes they don’t have the latest three letter acronym suspension design, they’re an evolved design ridden by many many riders.

If you don’t get it fine, just keep it to yourself and let us who do get on with enjoying them

Lummox, with that “aesthetically pleasing” statement, your a prime candidate for lead character in the next “Should have gone to specsavers” advert

The L21A1 Baton round is made of “Plastic” not rubber and has been for the last 17 years. People qualified to fire them in NI had to have fired at least 10 practice rounds in the last 30 days in order to be able to use the weapon on the streets. I would assume that all UK police forces must abide by a similar rule. Hence the need for a decent stock pile. You never know when the Yoouufs is goin kick off innit :D

I ordered an Easton haven Rear wheel 142 x 12 on the 9th March. Paid via paypal. Due in stock on the 17th March. Had to wait until last Saturday for it to arrive. Am i pleased???? oh Yesssssss. £120 cheaper than i paid for the front 20mm bolt through at the LBS. Well done CRC. However you sent me a set of Yeti Lockons last week with no clamps but i cant be bothered to send them back. swings and roundabouts!!! :D

I turn it off to take the rear wheel out to put the bike in the back of the car. The wheel goes back on when i get home so i can hose it down, then bike gets wiped down and hung up. Always forget to re-engage the clutch before i head out again. I engaged the clutch at the start of todays ride (for the first time!) and i find the shifting is only slightly stiffer than normal.

I’ve got the new Shimano M985 on my Remedy. It’s very effective and works better than the Heim 3 chain device that i currently run on my Trek Fuel Ex. The only downside to it is remembering to engage the clutch before you start riding! Just a shame they cost so much (£165 for mine from a LBS). Hopefully it will be cheaper on next years XT???

We’ve done KT for the last couple of years and disappointed that they’ve cancelled it. We’re going to do the Singletrack weekender instead. Same dates, closer to home and should be a bit more chilled out!

If you’ve got the pennys to spare, I’d go for the 160 Fit RLC 36 Talas. 160-120 travel. I’ve got a set on my Remedy and they are the dogs kahuuunas :D Not cheap, but worth it.

i like the Bontrager Race lite single lock ons. small profile with decent levels of grip and rubber ends so you can lean the bike against the car!
