My Havens have been superb with 2.5s on and have been to the Alps this year. They are still true and I haven’t suffered any of the bearing issues that some people have witnessed. I would also recommend Mavic Crosstrails. I have 2 sets that I have used tubeless for three years and they have been bombproof and cheaper than the Havens. The Havens are bling though :D

I’d advise you to try them on with your riding socks before you buy. I’ve got size 9’s (43) and there a bit tight and could have done with a ten really. They are very good though and have used the M80’s for 3 years now.

I’ve got an Evoc. had it two years now. Very tough. Got wheels. Stronger than a cardboard box! :D
it’s easy to pack and takes a 160 travel bike no problems. I always leave the rotors on as well and haven’t bent any yet. Extremely strong and durable, expensive, but worth it for long term regular use if flying to your destination.

The only place I found that stocked them was Hibike.de. took two weeks to come through though. €1.85 a spoke. €1.95 for a nipple.

I’d be surprised if you can still buy tickets. I looked last week and ended up buying 2 tickets for the VIP bar on the 5th January as I couldn’t get 2 seats together. I went twice last season and it was a great night out on both occasions. Took the wife and kids to the Maddison championship as well to see Sir Chris and they loved it. :D

Big + for the new Race Face Flank guards. Knee and and shin protection in D30, soft to the touch. comfortable and stay in place, plus they actually work. Tested extensively by me during my recent daily “Offs” (or should that be OOOfffs 8O ) in the Alps. £65 notes on CRC for mine :D

I would refer you to BS 7671- IET Wiring regulations, 17th Edition. Section 708, Pg 223. Electrical installations in caravan / camping parks & similar locations. If you haven’t read this and understood it, then you shouldn’t be making leads for use outdoors use in such locations. But what would i know, i’m only an electrician :D

Just spent a week in Les Arcs with Trail Addiction. It was superb, especially the Backcountry day ending with a train ride back from Albertville. Lots of steep switchbacks, tecky, flowy singletrack. I took a Remedy with 160 up front and it was perfect. 100 times better than Morzine/Les Gets & will definetly be going back next year. I went clipped in, had a few moments on the steep rocky stuff in the first few days, but soon got my ego back in line with my ability levels after a few days. great place to ride, hope it doesn’t turn in to the new “Morzine” though :D p.s. take knee And elbow pads and wear them. I went full face most days and took my trail lid with me for pedalling!

I’ve just spent a week in Les Arcs and didn’t meet a grumpy walker all week! They actually encouraged us to go faster, even when we practically knocked them over! Vive La France… ( The cheese eating surrender monkeys :D ) Wish they were like that in Grumpy Great Britain!

Nowt wrong with my Havens. Had them 7 months now and they’ve just been smashed to bits for a week in Les Arcs and still running good. Scratched, but still bling :D No bearing issues whatsoever.

I own a 2011 Remedy 9 with a Fox Talas 36 160-120 RLC FiT. The DRCV shock is superb and the Talas is a real point and Shoot on the descents. one is fitted with XTR 10 speed group set, less cranks which are the latest XT 3×10 as I like to climb as well. I can’t fault it, but I also wanted a Spicy but the Remedy frame came up on eBay as a warranty replacement. Im really happy with what I’ve got, but would like to try a Lapierre as a comparison. Do you really need to go Carbon? Mine weighs 30 Lbs with a set of Acid 2 pedals fitted. if you want to go 160 up front, even with carbon, your going to be close to 29lbs < which is the new AM figure according to STW! For 150 mm :D
