Go to Cala D’or for the day. It has 3 or 4 small beaches that are sheltered from the sea and perfect for snorkelling. The old town is great for for food as well. My kids love snorkelling there.

Hi TiINAS. I’ve lived in Abu Dhabi for just over a year now. I started off living near the airport / Yas Island. Cycling wise, it’s quite limited. Cycling on the local roads is very hazardous and not really recommended. There’s a Roadie group that meets up at the Etihad Plaza at early o ‘ clock at the weekends, high end bikes, but they all seem decent chaps! You can cycle the Yas Marina Grand Prix circuit for free on a Tuesday evening.Bikes are available to hire or you can use your own. There is a flood lit cycling circuit about 20 Kim’s outside Abu Dhabi City near Al Wathba mountain. It’s a 16 km tarmaced flood lit circuit built by one of the Sheiks for Tri Training, but you can turn up and use it anytime depending on the Endurance horse racing calendar which takes place near to the cycling track. The main mountain biking area is called Showka and is about 90 minutes drive from Abu Dhabi on the edge of the Hatta mountain range. It’s very popular in the winter and there’s usually quite a few groups there at weekends. There is excellent riding in Oman, and they hold a yearly XC race that Guy Martin attended this year. I live in Al Ain now and I have the Jebel Hafeet mountain 2 miles down the road which is handy for the road bike. There’s plenty of good riding over here, you just have to look for it and be prepared to travel. Send me an email and will let you know more! Should be in my profile. cheers. PS, You Tube “Showka trails” , there’s a few good vids on there showing the terrain to expect!

I’ve been running a set of 2012 160 Talas RLC Fit on my 2012 Remedy with no issues and it makes it much better on the rough stuff. The Remedy was originally produced with 160’s. Go big my man :D

I have been there previous to the single track weekender and was a bit disappointed as I didn’t know/ couldn’t find the routes. However, after riding both the downhill and the Xc course at the ST weekender, I now know that it has some great riding. Just ask a local to show you round. I’m sure there’s plenty of people on here that would oblige you.

You don’t see many about anymore. I remember seeing lots as a child in the 70’s at the annual Isle of Man Road Racing Festival. They use to have there own category and were mainly ridden by older gentlemen. They were still rather rapid with 700cc wheels!

As much as it hurts me! I have to agree with Junkyard. Your son needs a CSCS card, which costs a basic fee of £35 and is the only accepted card for on site working outside the domestic environment and is available to everyone from basic site labourers to qualified technical mechanical, civil and electrical workers. You can book online for a test and it is relatively straight forward, but needs a bit of revision on ladder angles, fire safety and common sense reporting, plus basic first aid procedure. HTH.

I would recommend Alexander Windows[/url]. we used them last year to do a full house worth of windows. Decent showroom in Hazel Grove, Stockport. No pressure quote and open to a bit of haggling. The installers were professional (on time, polite, courteous and cleaned all their crap up!) Couldn’t fault them.

Er “Cazum”, we are talking about HORA here. He is legendary for making perfectly serviceable components into a “Beyond repair” state with a quick spot of fettling! He is also a “friend” whom i enjoy riding with, so i’m not being vindictive! :D
