The good news is by reducing the price you have a better chance of selling it!

I've just posted on your classified- the reason I didn't name anyone was because I don't know who has applied the large mark up (and as I expressed when I started the thread should I be bothered?) . Logic tells me that you have both added something to the sale but it seems a shame that nobody has actually ridden the thing- fair play if you bought it, rode it and then sold it but just turning a quick buck goes against what I thought the forum was/is about. As I said in an earlier post perhaps I'm too idealistic but it does disappoint me a bit.

GeoffJ- surely the whole STW forum is a step up from ebay??
I notice you have asked for peoples views /advice and even offered your own before so surely you see the forums as a little more than a potential money making opportunity?
I was happy with the price I got for the frame so don't consider myself 'stupid' and dont for a moment think whoever is now trying to sell it will get that amount but cannot help feeling disappointed with the mindset of some people- anyway no more hippy mentality- who wants to buy Geoffj's 2p worth for a fiver!!

Ive just got one (at 44 !!) as my son has started racing this year and I was getting bored just watching. To be honest I won't race but really enjoy 'playing' and the lads at Crewe all seem ok with an oldy getting in the way! I bought a second hand bike (£125 from ebay) and a cheap full face helmet and will see how I get on before spending any more.

No issues at all with the bike tart angle- most of us are looking for the bike that will do the tricky bit that the current bike won't without any thought about it being the inadequacy of the rider but it's the idea of people trading on other biker's goodwill to make money that feels wrong

We’ve got a GSP and he’s great- good excuse to get you out on the bike as well. Does need at least an hour a day exercise though- and would happily take much more. Ours has a great temperament and loves the kids but is a bit clumsy.

I have one with the Hayes brakes which are going to be replaced pretty soon.
I have had no problems with the forks although only being using this winter so the ground has been pretty soft aka blummin muddy!
If you can get a deal on a fully built up bike I’d stick with that as I think the majority of the kit is ok (with the exception of the brakes and pedals)

Thanks to some thieving toe rags who knicked my maxlight xc120 and then found I was only covered for £500 despite having xtr kit and Fox talas rlc’s etc on it I had this exact dilemna.
My solution is that Ive just bought a charge duster rigid from wiggle for £350 (reduced from £500) and intend on putting some suntour epicon forks on it for CRC at £130- this leaves me with £20 to either get a bigger lock or to borrow a mentalist rottweiler for when they come back to see what the replacement bike is like!!

He is a GSP and as I said I take it ‘fairly easy’ by this I mean downhills are casually taken so as to avoid damaging joints and as I’m on a singlespeed the uphills are taken even more than ‘fairly easy’.
To be honest when I take him for a walk in the woods he tears around just as fast and as far on his own chasing birds and squirrels.

We’ve got a German Shorthaired Pointer and he’s ace- he’s only 8 months old so I’m taking it fairly easy with him but he’ll do an hour with me on a singlespeed no problem. Today I’m feeling a bit guilty as we had his nadgers off today

Thanks for that- hopefully saved me spending cash for no reason!
