Valleydaddy- I wished I d had that level of security as Ive just lost £4k 's worth of bikes through my crappy timber garage doors.

However I would just express caution on the car front- I had put my wifes car against my doors and they just put the window through to take the handbrake off- thus meaning I also needed to claim for new glass etc!!

Just had the police round got a fingerprint off the car- here's hoping!
They left my roadbike- the police reckon its because there is little interest in roadbikes- unfortunately this was worth the least of all my bikes!

Cheers – thats the annoying thing they will probably be sold for peanuts for drug money….and I loved that orange!

Andy- like I said I have the frame details of the orange and I do know certain distinguishing features but its a case of when you divulge them so they dont get masked etc!
The cube was only bought from Goldtec weeks ago so is showroom condition- been used 3 times – my missus is in floods!

Ive just had a similar situation went into the shop to order a Cube Access wls pro and while waiting to speak to the manager she had a go on the Cube xms full sus in a small mens size and fell in love with it!

5 minutes later we had bought it and she's had 2 rides up at Cannock this week and she cant stop grinning.

Her view is that the bounce both end makes her more confident so I wouldnt rule a fs out if she hasnt tried one.

Mine's just had a full sus and as soon as she sat on it started grinning- not sure if her getting into it is good or bad – although she did say she now realises that 'it's worth paying a bit more for quality kit'- this could prove very useful!!

I have started taking my lad upto Cannock and we have had a fairly mixed bag of behaviour- worst was some idiot telling him to move when halfway round a berm- he's 13 and not exactly super slow
Unfortunately he didnt tell me til later so I couldnt speak to the offending group.
I am not super quick but if I approach someone who is obviosly a beginner I try to reassure them to take their time etc
I think it is a trail centre spoon fed type attitude where people think they are better than they are on their 6 inch travel bikes with all the padding on (and then push down the werewolf drop!!)

I read mags for inspiration firstly so enjoy non tech articles that make me want to get out and ride and secondly for product reviews as biking kit is pretty expensive and it's good to know what it can and cannot do.

I know this may not fit in with the testoterone fuelled environment that is stw but no way would I do that 😳

My hit rate of satisfaction (both buying and selling) is probably 60/40 in favour of good experience but it has amazed me how many robust bearings on frames and wheels suddenly deteriorate with me having one ride on them!!
I have posted before when someone did it on me that I think it is not within my understanding of the stw spirit for people to be trading to make profit but each to their own!

I bought a macbook for the house as a bit of an impulse and have just recently had a new acer laptop with windows 7 and I would say the gap on functionality etc has closed greatly.
Cannot get too excited with the macbook tbh- perhaps it's my it ineptitude?

On your idea re staffie/lab cross I had a collie/staffie cross and he was a brilliant dog- lived to 14 but upto about 12 loved coming out with me when I was riding- staffies are much maligned and I wouldnt have a pedigree one due to the chav image thing but as a cross worth considering.

If you go to a rescue centre be prepared to see every variation of staffie/pit bull/rottie known to man- real real shame.
