My missus preffered Llandegla red to FTD and generally found there were more pushy weekend warriors harrying her at Cannock (possibly because the trails are a bit narrower)

Commencal meta 4 was a 100mm – singletrack did a comparison a few years back and basically said the st4 followed the commencal design

Do you actually want it though or is it because its a bargain? I only ask this as within a few rides you will forget about the bargain bit and possibly be left with a bike that doesnt tick all the boxes.

Fair enough with the just a job line but he dressed it upto be something other than wanting a better deal- thats what annoys- I assume man yoo have now proved how much ambition they have by adding 150k a week to his granny hooker fund
I think its the beginning of the end for fergie as in the past he would have had shrek out of the club and replaced him with a world class replacement – he’s now left having to buy mexicans he’s never seen play!

Todays injections are pretty good- I used to go jab free to avoid the drooling but these days I find the effects are nowhere near as bad/lomg lasting (and tbh the jab isnt as painful)

2009 ex8 here- tbh bought in a bit of a rush off the stw classifieds after I had my Orange 5 nicked but really like it- have changed the bars, shorter stem .seatpost and saddle.
Overall feel is very stable whether that will convert to ‘ a bit boring’ only time will tell but I do need a skills compensator.
However- they are not a rarity on the trails- you can either get exorcised about them being a bit mondeo like or actually look at this as a ringing endorsement of their quality- great warranty also.

Got some on my trek ex8- early days but so far so good- 2.3 on the front and 2.1 on the back- not the lightest though but good confidence inspiring grip

Surely if the ultra niche brands were producing such good design concepts/ riding experience the big boys would buy them up no?

I got a voodoo wanga frame and bought the parts off here mainly- £800 will get you a great bike- the advantage of the wanga is when I come to my senses I can put gears on it 😉
Walla was selling one recently I think

Ive got a l200 animal thing and its pretty ucomfortable, has rubbish turning circle and surprisingly rubbish load carrying capacity- but it is good for tax and the animal logo in the cill glows blue (my kids like that)

Molgrips – you are right about vfm on caravans but the residuals on caravans are rubbish- we paid £17k for our last one- 3 years later had to sell for £10k- that plus the servicing insurance would pay for alot of ‘proper holidays’. We justified it because we lived in it for 8 months while extending the house but if not (and even with) its a big hit.

Campervans on the other hand hold their value really well albeit a decent size one would be just as much of a pain in the arris around small villages/ narrow lanes etc

We had one for about 6 years- I think the ‘just get up and go’ idea is a bit of a myth- we always had to spend quite a bit of time packing/unpacking- I also hated the towing (albeit we did end up with a monster twin axle job) and my knuckles would be white when in narrow country lanes for fear of ‘the tractor’ coming the other way!

Admittedly better for rubbish weather but we took the view the cost of insurance/ servicing plus depreciation just werent worth it- so we bought a family tent- albeit we will only use for long weekends and used the rest of the money to go and get some sun ( after 3 consecutive summer holidays in cornwall washed out!)

You may also have to change your car to be legal for towing 😉

Feel for you mate- I had a similar experience last month- 3 bikes lifted – no signs to date- just bought the biggest baddest chain padloc/lock combo for my replacements and looking into cctv and garage alarm- this will all set me back another £500 just to keep the scum bags out- not really fair eh!

I agree with ampthill I got an ex8 recently off here based on magazine reviews and really like it but I did have to change stem and bars etc to feel ‘right’
Also agree that pro pedal works well enough to not need lockout.

My recently knicked 5 had white forks and I went with blue finishing kit including blue hope rotors, blue skewers, white grips, blue clamp and cow print saddle(not really coordintaed but I liked it!)- I was very happy with the way it looked- and it was obviously attractive enough to the thieving scum bag who knicked it too 👿

Buzz Lightyear- dont bank on the car in front of the door approach- we did that when on holiday- all they did was put the window of the car through and take the handbrake off and push the car back- result – no bikes and a claim on the car insurance as well!! grrrr

I am now going to go for:

    Ground anchor plus wall anchor
Chain through as many parts as well as frame
    A pir alarm thingy
    Possibly cctv also

Alos make sure insurance is adequate this time 😳

You will need to ensure you dont undermine the foundations of the boundary walls also you may need to appoint a party wall surveyor to act for the wall- i kid you not!

Out of the 3 got to be zeppelin for me as they evolved massively from each album and were prepared to chage direction- saying that loved all 3 !
Depends on mood but Led zep 3 is a fantastic mellow album with the obvious led zep 4 for the more well known stuff.

I was going to get a cube hardtail for my wife but she tried the xms and absolutely loved it from the off- she reckons the full suspension gives her alot more confidence on the technical stuff
