Just had mine delivered yesterday but working under stealth when the kids arent around so havent had loads of time- connected to internet ok-obviously not as quick as a laptop connection but first impression is that it is something you could live with.
It’s running android 2.1 so I need to look into installing flash for certain apps but certainly as a webbrowsing machine looks to be worth the £110 paid- plus £10 vat on receipt of parcel.
Next job is how to load .apk files (angry birds etc)on an SD card- any help gratefully received!

Ive got a pointer and a working springer and as long as they get half an hour with a bigger walk every second/third day they are fine- I think if you give a dog lots of exercise they get used to it so it a bit self perpetuating.

As for cycling with them it can be a bit frustrating but also good fun- however I need to be wary of raod crossings etc as the pointer’s a bit thick!

If you are looking to buy relatively cheaply I would look at Woodseats- I had my first house there and it was a nice easy cycle into the peak, nice park next door, good bus route and local shops on your doorstep.

    I too miss Sheff.

I had an interesting one- was only insured upto £500 a bike for 3 bikes stolen with a total value approx £4k- really gutted when I looked at the policy- gave info on 3 bikes of which 2 had been upgraded and was expecting £1500 max obviously> However got a settlement of £3k! Result.

My missus is delivering babies in the morning- she offered to avoid doing a late shift or nights- idea being she goes to work me and the kids veg then open pressies when she gets back and I make a mess in the kitchen burning stuff!

1863 here- its a semi detached cottage with cavity construction (pretty advanced for its time ) and our neighbours is concrete construction – not smooth faced but a very nice rough hardcore mix concrete- how weird is that?

They are part of the Duke of Sutherlands estate and the house across the road is all timber construction- think they were a very early Grand Designs project!

Im sure the android market will leave apple for dead in a fairly short period as there are a lot more companies behind it as ar as R&D but it all seems a bit volatile at the moment- as an aside how can samsung justify their pricing!!

I think it’s play it safe time and I am going for a netbook- if Im totally honest with myself I want one for sofa surfing and was going to use the xmas purchase as a tester.

Tbh- she wants a laptop but my view is that for what she does at the moment (ie you tube, penguin whatever, facebook)a tablet would be fine and I could get her younger sister one as well for less than the cost of one laptop which would be fought over endlessly.
