I would look at a second hand quality option- I tried an older rig and didnt get on with it but have recently bought a built up swift for £500 and absolutely love it- the fork isnt very bouncy though as its rigid!

Id look at the titus offer at on one and use the money saved over the flux on a light set of wheels

To me they all are very similar- I had the smae dilemna in that I had a full sus, a ti456 and ss- I now have a Trek ex8 for big days and a ss rigid 29er (swift) for most days- to me this gives distinctly different choices

I can testify after last night’s ‘bimble’ its quite quick (even allowing for the fact that I am very slow)- goes off to check definition of bimble 😕

German short haired pointer here and rescue springer- pointer would be better I would say from what you have said- as long as you can afford to feed them!
