robhughes- with regards Superstar I realise it may not be the stw way but I can only speak from my own experience and I have had 2 isis bb’s off them with no issues plus a decent set of wheels at a good price- and I like sweets!

Superstar were really good for a bottom bracket- ordered early afternoon and arrived next day – with sweeties!
I did say I would give them a shout if they turned it round quickly then forgot so thanks for the reminder!

He did get banned and is now officially in the ‘ why do I bother’ camp!
Tbh he got banned for posting a pic on the bike porn thread that someone else posted a day later who subsequently didnt get banned- go figure!

Its a bit of both- having taken my youngest there for a party its my idea of hell but they enjoyed it! I did learn a few new swear words from the kids in the queue as well!

What about the plaza in Forest Park- great for bmx, skateboarding and inline skating?

sadexpunk- how did/do you find the j bars?
Considering them or loop bars after listening/watching tazzy getting on with his- would they be more comfortable for a bit of road work than flat bars?

Have you considered a 29er HT in lieu of short travel fs- Ive hardly used my trek ex 8 since having my swift (and in fact have just had a lynskey pro29er on the basis that I will have one ss and the other as a gearie and sell the full sus).

My mates just started racing again but he’s doing the old school class and absolutely loves it as there is a really good comaraderie with the guys and he isnt racing aganst 16 year olds…..I’m too scared!!

Ive just had a year with an L200 and it was fun for the first 3 weeks and then I began to despise it- it was even carp for throwing bikes in the hardshell at the back- could only just get 3 bikes in with taking wheels off as the wheel arches kicked in that much.

Fuel economy is awful, handling in the wet was lethal and the seats were rock hard

Now got an A4 estate and I actually enjoy driving again (although that is also crap for bikes but at least you can reach on top to put the bikes on a rack)

singular swift-can still get away with a rigid fork- someone is selling a large one at the moment on the classifieds (not me by the way!)

if not into 29ers cotic soul?

johnners- not at all- I was a partner in the firm and they had a huge issue with funds looking forward that would have sent the company under- in fact they had to sideline a huge percentage of the partners profit for several years to get it under control

Tj- isnt the increased contributions part of the reason for the strike action?

I was just trying to add a touch of realism to the debate- I never said it was pleasant or would wish it on others but it is/was a harsh economic fact. ie there wasnt enough money set aside because in general people are living longer etc etc

I suppose to reinforce it further perhaps all the teachers should nominate which other Govt funded sector should have their budget cut to allow them to carry on as before or we could say we are all in the poo so lets all take some pain

I lost my final salary pension 6 years ago in the private sector and basically we had to accept it with no consultation at all.

I saw u2 in the early 80’s and they were great- tonight looked a bit like going through the motions and I thought Bono was off key lots- Primal Scream were brilliant!

Most of mine have been second hand and available at the right price and time- although some some have been the right price and the wrong time but Ive still bought them anyway!
Most have been fine but I lost money on a few that couldnt get on with – eg blur classic and ti456

Agree with Bushwacked – all this moaning about brake bumps comes across as just a way of expressing how fantastically smooth you all ride.
Interesting total ignoring of the request for help in maintaining the trails as well. 😉
