Cuz I see women trying to turn the steering wheel with a fag between their fingers and it definitely looks a lot harder to manoeuvre – not to mention if you knock the cherry onto the floor!!!

It makes no sense that people can still drive while smoking – surely holding a smouldering piece of vegetation can’t be safe?

As Dave says they will be on considerably more than min wage with the profit share scheme!

Good model – the chief exec is only on £150k which whilst still a lot is miles less than his peers

I’m 6 ft and have just bought a 19.5 scandal feels a smidge big – haven’t spent much time messing with stem etc but it would make a good long distance muncher as opposed to tight single track fighter

Thanks for the input- It isnt my event as such but on seeing the itineray last night I thought I would get the view of people who know the area.

We will be having a day out in the peaks to ascertain fitness levels etc and are considering shortening day 4 to 13 miles to go to Holme Chapel but will look into the canal out of Hebden also.

First 3 days are in the late 20’s with the first day being the easiest as its on railway lines for a large proportion apparently. The other 2 days look a little tougher but there doesnt appear to be too much on the interweb as far as route profiles etc

Thanks- tbh the group is a real mix- some pretty experienced and the others can all do the likes of the monkey at cannock ok- it is more in relation to the endurance side of things- the plan is a leisurely pace with a pub stop etc but we want the mix of a challenge but also to enjoy it!

Agree with cheezybeanz in that ss 29 er stylee seems easier than 26

Weirdly it feels easier to get out of the saddle and wrestle up the hills

Our rescue springer is fine with 40 mins a day off lead ball chasing and is brilliant with the kids

Whilst most dogs aren’t upto 20 miles you must remember breeds such as Dalmatians were bred to be coach dogs and would happily run alongside the coach all day- however dogs such as collies and sprinters will rum themselves into the ground to please there masters so care is required

The wobble ring is an elliptical ring (not biopace) that appears to make pedalling alot more efficient
Rotor make one but is quite expensive and tazzy has persuaded goldtech betd to make some which the boys have been prototyping and using with great feedback- check his profile for more info

May be all be snake oil- I cant try one on mine because i run middleburn unos and one’s to fit direct arent in production yet but have had a quick spin on other peoples bikes and it does appear to work

As a project manager we tend to tag it onto the services consultants brief so if you were to do it I would get close to some smaller consultancies who can sell your service as a more complete service under their umbrella

I can’t see it becoming redundant just yet as any public sector end user is demanding it and there is a definite art in managing the process to target the easier/ cheaper points especially if they have set a target of so many points or an excellent grading- to me that where the niche is I have had sone guys who just score the project but where you make yourself invaluable is helping the design process to achieve the target

    Anyway of my soapbox now!

You could try the greyhound at Burston- its about 10 minutes from the trails but does good beer and Pete the landlord is a mad keen biker (and a bit bonkers!)- decent size car park as well
