To me the biggest advantages of a 29 er are better grip going up loose stuff and the ability to iron out ( to a degree) the terrain as it will skim over smaller hollows- also I can getvdown steep t.echnical stuff with more confidence as it feels more stable

Sun, alcohol and cheese are vastly overrated I reckon- give me mud, hot chocolate and lard every day

I am perplexed at the plethora of threads that insist on mentioning the soul in the title..
Eg what toothpaste for a Cotic soul owner or what pile cream for a Cotic soul owner

Why do you need to mention that you have a soul?

By the way I had one and it was ok but I actually preferred my voodoo wanga

By the way it’s arm and hammer and preparation h 😀

My missus has just shown me her mates Facebook page. They bumped into the guys at Crewe hall where they are staying and they let her 12 year old son onto the bus for photos and cav, wiggo and DB all posed for photos with him- considering it was a bad day at the office I would say fair play to them

How can the cheeky trailers plan an event without knowing how many people are coming? Surely getting the money in is important part of the process to book catering etc or does everyone have to bring sarnies?

We went to le vieux port in the south west last year and really enjoyed it- will probably go back next year as its great for the kids (12′,13& 15)- adjoining the beach and in a woodland setting.

3 weeks 2 days ago- combo of washed out trails so very loose and going slower than normal and wheels went from under me and I landed heavily on a raised tree root right on my ribs- another 3 weeks I reckon before I can ride properly again- I didnt cry though!!

My missus had a course and it appeared to help her stress levels and hormonal issues following baby nr 2 but it was also in conjunction with a detox diet so couldnt swear which one worked but the two combined definitely worked

Assuming that’s aimed primarily at me no I havent been to Gisburn but I was assuming that we would be looking at ‘cheeky trails’ for the riding and not a manicured trail centre type approach hence the name of the organising group.
I also sort of thought that the camping/event area would have been considered as lets face it for many this is as important (if not more) than the riding to many who will be attending

its one that shows disappointment- Im sure the organisers share that feeling otherwise they wouldnt have gone for Gisburn in the first place

    is my OP moaning?
Expressing disappointment and saying I was unsure isnt really moaning is it?
Perhaps posting up a bit of info about whats happening will create some buzz around the event- at the moment there aint much to banter about 😉

its not really pissed me off- I can decide whether or not to attend and thats fine.

However some people may have booked accommodation and it all seems a bit late in the day for such a fundamental change.

This event is usually one I look forward to and im struggling to think why this will be much different to the recent weekender plus I quite like the banter leading upto these type of events and all I have seen so far is people questioning when info is coming out etc etc.

To be fair it’s gone down pretty badly on one cog on Facebook – if the reasoning for picking lee quarry is to show everyone what ss means oop north then why was Gisburn announced as the venue?

How fat does your bike have to be- I’m working on project Norman ( fat boy slim) a half fat kona unit 29 – would he be out of his depth ( literally!!)

Marty as the London mayor had said please do something with the east end of London I think you can say they had the venue locked down!

Hear what you’re saying Steve but I was under the impression the venue was a fundamental part of winning the bid to host the event so assume that Gisburn had been secured.

Never ridden lee Quarry but not sure a rigid ss would be the weapon of choice for most visitors judging by what I’ve seen

Landed heavily on my ribs on a loose descent yesterday- no biking for a few weeks I reckon 🙁

It’s very difficult to be too prescriptive I’ve had a 56 and 57 that were both a bit small whereas just got a 58 cannondale and it feels spot on- I’m 6ft and a fag end with a 33 inside leg
