Sorry for the late reply, Thanks for all the idea’s you guys came up with i’ve passed them on to the parents. In the end we went over to the Elan Valley and cycled route 81 round the reservoirs which was a nice and easy 20 mile loop.

    +1 for Attenborough

World is over populated, We won’t be able to feed ourselves in the future on our current diets and destroying the planet with the need for more food producing land. Families across the world in any situation should be limited these days I think.

Would a roller shutter help? or is there not enough room to install it?

I think Bulgaria and Andorra are quite good resorts for beginners. May as well save the more advanced destinations for the future.

Not sure about this, obviously some years are better than others for snow but we went to Andorra one year and it was my girlfriends first year boarding and the pistes were very icy and falling was like hitting concrete. Also a lot of the easy blues had long flat sections which are a nightmare for boarding especially for a beginner if they fall, they basically have to walk.

Next year we went to Banff and couldn’t have had better powder, following year was Tignes and that was also another great year for snow.

    On monday what about.

Cannock Monkey trail in the morning, its only short so then move closer towards Wales you could do either Hopton Woods red or a XC ride over on the Long Mynd go to Blazing Bikes for a map and a route and stay at their campsite.

What about LLandegla at some point for a bit of smooth running fun?

    Coed Y Brenin – Great

    Brecon Beacons – Never been.

Friday on the way back from Cwmcarn call in and do Forest of Dean either the blue or a little fun on the DH stuff.

As mentioned above, most likely mast issue. Either sit it out or report it. I have heard that 3 can be a little slow in fixing smaller mast sites tho :(

Research into local wireless projects, some remote/rural areas have wireless corridors and offer decent speeds.

Gutted for you, hope its not a bad break.

It’s took me 5 months to get the bloody NHS to fix mine and their finally going to operate in a couple of weeks. Sucks further that I have been able to ride with it snapped in 3 pieces for most of the summer but know in a couple of weeks time i’ll be back to square one and off my bike for a couple of months.

It should be fine, its been bone dry so a little rain shouldn’t be a problem plus its mean’t to be drying up a little after today.

Don’t know about the group ride, I presume its still wednesday evening but I’ve never been along.

Six months is too long, you’ve missed some great riding in Wyre this year, probably the best/driest its been in years

I’m no expert but i’d be looking at HTML5 and Javascript using frameworks like JQuery and taking advantage of AJAX. For the backend i’d be using PHP and MySQL, you could use a service like parse.com which makes the database stuff really easy.

Linux based hosting is usually slightly cheaper.

If you can use iMovie you will be able to do some basic editing in Final Cut but you then have scope to learn some of the advance stuff and produce better videos. Final Cut Pro X will also be cheaper than Adobe Premiere CS6.

I have some Nukeproof knee pads and have worn them on long backcountry days with no problems.

The neoprene type material seems to be on its way out after about 9months but I think its because they might be a size too small.

    Snowcard

A group of us all got Snowcard cover for this years Alps trip and my mate fell off and dislocated his shoulder which needed heli evac, Although it turned out the Heli Evac was free Snowcard paid up and sorted out the hospital side of things no questions asked.

    I’ll be using them again.

Nearly all 2 drive NAS will support mirroring, but make sure you check that it does RAID 1. This isn’t 100% safe so alway take another backup. The easy/cheap option is a large removable USB HDD that you plug in from time to time.

Get a NAS to store your films on, personally i’ve got a QNAP 219PII and it works fine.

Encode your movies in x264 MKV as its generally a good standard and a lot of devices will work with it. You’ll want a fairly decent PC to do this quickly. Also might be worth investing in a gigabit switch to speed up transfer of files from PC to NAS.

Most SmartTVs etc will do DNLA but personally i’d grab some small media players that will allow XBMC, something like Pivos XIOS.

Looked into this a little and it seems Stans Flows on Pro 2 Evo’s are the way to go.

Anyone know who has them in stock? everyone seems to have a 2 week lead on them. :(

Have a look at One Industries Sector, they are baggy but lightweight, come with a lining and have a large mesh area around the crotch for decent ventilation.

    I grabbed mine from gravitybikes.co.uk

We have one in Wyre Forest known as “The Titty Track” to a few, but Camber to most.

Whilst riding it one day we stumbled across a photographer doing nude photo shoot with some rather attractive young ladies.

Get a Travelex pre-paid credit card.

It’s a Mastercard that you affectively top-up with the required currency, for example Euro’s. There are no commission charges on the card, you use it like a normal credit card so can withdraw cash at ATM, pay for a meal at restaurant etc. They’ll send you a new one out ASAP if it is lost or stolen and you can top it up when your running low via there website.

Best thing is, you’ll be able to get it over the counter at a Travelex.

Or…. I have a Santander Zero Credit Card that i use purely for holidays as it has no transaction or commission charges abroad. You usually get the best rate aswell

If you do Monkey, it’ll ride ok as its sandy and pebbly but you will get loads of deep puddles. I’d probably wait for a slightly drier day if your driving over specifically.

Just use a cheap domain reg company like 123-Reg, if its just a very basic webpage you want maybe even use them for hosting. I’d go with Google for your email, for £3.30/month you get Mail, Drive and Apps with a combined storage of 30GB

Yeah, realised in OP I said V2… they are X2…

I understand these are XC brakes really, but at this late stage I can’t really get into changing the brakes. I thought upgrading the rotors may help dissipate the heat better as a quick fix.

Thanks for all your input, think i’ve got it clear now.

Oh greeble, just seen your post… :(

So would need one of these Shimano 6-bolt rotor to Centre-Lock hub disc adapter[/url]

    This is getting pricey… :(

Yeah, there HOPE TECH EVO X2. So if I order some Hope Disk Brake Mount Adapter they should fit the rotors and no need to file them down.

Feeling a little dense here now, but still a little confused what I need out of these options

Mount A-Post Caliper to IS (F-160/R-140)
Mount B-Post Caliper to IS (F-203/R-183)
Mount C-Post Calipe to Post (F-203/R-203)
    Mount D-Post Caliper to Boxxer, pre-2010 (F-203)
    Mount E-Post Caliper to Fox 40 (F-203)
Mount F-Post Caliper to IS (F-180/R-160)
    Mount G-Post Caliper IS (R-203)
Mount H-Post Caliper to Post (F-183)
Mount J-Post Caliper to IS (F-183)
    Mount K-Post Caliper to Post (R -PM 140-PM 160)

Guessing I need Mount B-Post Caliper to IS (F-203/R-183) for the front? (I don’t need this, but prefer they match)

Mount G-Post Caliper IS (R-203) for the rear?

Am I on the right track?

    Hi Mike,

I don’t quite get what you mean about the rotor rivets? why would they catch? are you talking about the rivets that attach the floating section?

Also you say “A plus rear adapter” do you just mean next one up ie. 203?

Anyone know if Bourg St Maurice hospital accepts E111? :)

    Hi Michael,

What would you say is huge? Normal single trip policies are under £50 for quite decent cover so are you talking like £150 or £500? or more.

Can you point me in the direction of a company to enquire at?
