Horrible news and very sad, this happened 20 mins down the road from me.

Not blaming anyone as there are a number of possibilities to this tragedy, especially as Mike commented of being all over the road due to I guess fatigue and the reported vision issues, but drivers around here aren’t cyclists friendly and that road is fast and dangerous. I mean they only just brought in as a trial 1m matters campaign for cars passing bikes. Mike complained in a video how little room drivers give when passing.

Very sad and thoughts with the family and the other event riders at this time.

Thanks Trail_rat, once I’ve done a shed load of scrubbing with solvent, I’ll need to get it coated, so do I need to prime before applying Tractol, if so do I just use a normal spray enamel primer?

With paining in the hard to reach area, should I still get a streak free glossy finish?

Also I have some galvanised panels, I planned to etch prime these, will tractol work on top of that ok?

Sorry for all the questions, completely clueless on this stuff.

    Thanks for your help

Anyone got a link to Laurie & Danny’s runs?

Can still watch it on Redbull TV, they even have markers for the riders so you can skip to specific runs.

I have the Bose QC35’s and live them, battery last really well and they do a great job of blocking out the drones of travel. Haven’t tried the others listed as these were a gift.

Not sure what you like but might also be worth the short ride for a play up Stile Cop.

Aphex_2k, I’m with you, I’m used to 30° plus hot rides but the humidity is a killer. It might as well have rained today as I was wet through.

No showers, it’s been hot and steamy all day. I’ve been a sweaty mess hiking through the jungle and up to the rock garden. However the best spot has to be the triple near the end it’s insanely quick.

Looking forward to tomorrow and hoping Ratboy gets up there.

Flying from Canberra, Australia. Only direct flights go to Wellington at the moment. Other than that I have to drive 3hrs or get another flight to Sydney. Not a major issue but the direct flights are decent price as the route just launched.

Caught the last 20 mins and it was awesome, I wanted one more lap to see if the Nissan would have taken the Mclaren… Might go next year.

Most likely corruption or faulty memory card, had it once with a Contour camera.

Have you tried connecting the GoPro to your smartphone and viewing the files directly off that?

Have you tried removing the SD Card and viewing on computer or using a USB cable and viewing them on off the GoPro that way?

Have you copied the file to your workstation? as above what application are you trying to view them in?

He He, part of live out here a bit I guess, but out of a couple of thousand miles i’ve ridden in the last year or so i’ve seen two brown snakes on the trails. Both just wanted to get out the way when they felt me coming. It doesn’t worry me one bit really.

Keep your eyes open, carry compression bandages and a phone :)

Have you checked the type of riding? I don’t think Sydney has that much good stuff, worth bring a bike. You’ll have to take a 3hr trip to ACT to find some good stuff :)

As above, the bike needs to be spotless, especially tyres, they do check at Customs. Everytime I’ve have wheel and frame checks.

Its basically included in your baggage allowance, most decent airlines will give you 30Kgs + 7Kgs hand luggage. I’ve taken my bike from Oz to UK twice last year with an Evoc bag. Filling the bag with all my bike kit and some clothes and then maxing out the hand luggage with more clothes.

It depends how heavy or light you travel but you don’t want to be paying excess baggage at about $80 a kilo it gets expensive quick

Yup, as said, go give blood. They let you know and you help someone out.

Giving blood also saved the life of someone I know as they picked up early she had leukemia

Build your own burger at the touch screen, take a buzzer and wait for food to arrive.

Its still crappy McDonnalds but nice to make your own crappy burger

On southeast coast there are a couple of riding spots on the coast

Tathra, you can ride from the beach to the trails, flow mountain biking have a nice little video on this place.

Mogo Forest, specifically maulbrooks MTB trails near Browlee, though this is a little neglected as logging is planed at some point but the snake track is 2km of awesomeness

Or, head in land a bit to ACT and ride Majura, Stromlo and Kowen/Sparrowhill.

If in Victoria, I’d definitely go ride the Epic trail.

Broke mine into three pieces to and they wouldn’t plate it to start with, took them 12 weeks and a ton of xrays and they finally came to the conclusion it wasn’t going to fix, it looked pretty obvious to me it was never going to fix as there was a massive gap. Anyway they eventually plated it, no issues and it fixed up well. Not had any issues with the plate really.

Surgery always comes with risk, but I believe its more the cost that stops the NHS plating more. In the US they plate everything from I can tell.

I’ve built a couple, not published on the AppStore but used to do specific internal process for a company. I’m not a developer but come from an IT background, not sure that makes much difference. I self learnt objective-c to make apps for iOS, pretty fun times learning but quite long winded, wish I’d learnt programming at Uni.

If you do have a good idea it might be worth checking out a freelancer website, it’s not just coding, your need a designer for the graphics etc..

    +1 for Evoc

I’ve also done two Aus to UK and back trips this year and have found the Evoc bag to be great. With a 30kg allowance I can put bike, helmet, 5ten’s, camelback and all the usual other bits of kits along with some clothes in the bike bag and put another 7kgs of clothes in hand luggage.

Putting as much weight at the wheelend and dragging the bag by the thick bottom handle makes it dead easy to move around with.

I have an Evoc and have done trip from Oz to UK and back it it worked out great. I had mine stuffed to 30kg and took it as my only checked in bag. Plenty of room around the frame to put clothes and helmets etc.. also add more protection

I was also going to ask this, I thought some of it looked like Long Mynd, but not the part at 1:09, at a guess i’d say its somewhere on Stiperstones
