I too think Dibbs has done it. Beyond the root, about halfway for me. Tough climb.

Some of the shampoo ads, ‘Pentapeptides’ WTF. Made up. Caffeine! why should caffeine be good for your hair! And Turbo! really gets my goat.

Some well intended advice above, but everyones ‘issues’ are different. You may be able to sort out a front mech on here, but if you’ve serious medical problems, see a professional.
For me, advice, some manipulation, and stretching, sorted a back muscular pain.

    Dave,

one of the big attractions of XTR Di2 is the rear mech/front mech interface, ‘It’ decides for you when to shift the front, you just ask it to shift up or down.

Probably the reason I’ve not gone that way myself, I’m firmly in the 1X camp nowadays.

    See H monkey above.

Similar experience to Sir HC on a S-Works HT. All good, well pleased.
Drivetrain always kept immaculately clean. HTHs

There’s quite a few I know of from the Bridgwater, and Minehead areas going.
Without doubt V wet, but Newnham holds out quite well with that. Jay and Maddie will give us a challenging and fun course. Never failed yet. IME

    Rob,

Distibuted by Saddleback now, your LBS should be able to get any of the available models. Looks like equivalent is Dragon 4, or Drako.

Ianc I have tried both Diablo and Joystick as a suplement for a MaxX D on handlebar, whilst undeniably the Joystick is a good light in its own right, the Diablo kicks it into next week for spirited offroad riding. Weight is unnoticable, but additional output and quality of is unbeatable.

Not a highjack as such, but does anyone know a reliable replica watch site? I’m liking the look of Bell and Ross phantoms, but for occasional use, disliking the price.

Re the Sky thing. I’ve wondered right from the start if in fact they do have a plan B this time, not Porte who does seem to be struggling a bit for form, but Thomas. This objective being kept under wraps. Think it could become clearer after this afternoon, if Thomas does feature in the finale, or not.

Tang, not sure I’m getting your comment re prizes. My team got third in sub cat Oldies,(Vets) see my previous comment. Nothing what so ever at all, for a visit to the podium. Its clearly not why we do it, as 17 years of trying testifies. Time may be a healer, but, I doubt we’ll be back.

Our 4 man team in subcat oldies (Vets) also had a great weekend. Not at all deminished by the lack of showering/washing facilities. We’ve done 17 Mayhems, all trying hard, this time made epic by racing for 2nd/3rd place, which ended up as 3rd, well chuffed. It would have been nice to have had some sort of momento for our visit to the podium, after all it was a 17 year wait!

Guys, suggestions are all spot on, but the set up may not be as problematic as you think. Additionally swapping chains, so long as cassettes are of similar age should be unnesasary. If hubs are from different manufacturers, then slight indexing, and caliper alignment may be required. I run a CX bike just as you intend. HTH

Thrusty, have you discounted the creak from headset area, these noises have a habit of ‘moving’ around the frame, I say this having experienced similar on Cannondales fleet test bike a couple of years ago. Undo the 2 6mm steerer clamp bolts, check for any freeplay on the large (Shimano castellated BB tool) nut at bottom of steerer, take up any slack. Tighten clamp bolts. Worked for me. I then went on to buy a F29

Another thumbs up for Dave Millars commentary, always previously irritated by his self serving whining post race. Now in civvies, usefully insightful.
Also shocked by the rolling road closure failure. What a PR own goal that could have been.

I get what you’re saying akak, but on a race bike, for just a couple of techy features per lap, I’m prepared to give it a try. Most reviews suggest it works better than you might imagine. Thanks anyway.

Thanks MSP, I had hoped to get one before NPS this weekend, thought I might be pushing it with delivery from Germany. Ta anyway. Meant to say in original post, it needs to be 27.2, going into S-Works Stumpjumper HT.

Hhmmm, Altitude too, bothers me, not sure how to get over that. Trip would probably be a week or two at most for me.

I’ve had the Advanced SL1 for 2years now, no issues whatsoever. It came with Zipp 404s, I had a pair of Mavic R-sys, which I mostly used. Brake pads, I used Swiss stop yellow, on both wheels. Because of the difference in rim width, brake fettling, was necessary. (Exalith machining, coating screech for a break in period). Last summer I bought a pair of 202’s and now with grey Zipp pads, good braking is now even better. Wet or dry. I do long rides, sportives, Alpine, circuit races, hill climbs. HTH

I’ll riding, along with my daughter. Not sure how much of the 1, 2, or 3 loops we’ll get in. Should be drying by Sunday, was incredibly dusty dry on Thursday evening

I’ve had both, (3 TCRs) now with Propel. The geometry is exactly the same for both, so fit and handling is a given. Most would be surprised how all day comfortable the Propel is. And, I’d challenge Omar’s comment re the brakes, my experience is that they are notably more powerful than a regular calliper, I rate them highly. HTH

I’ve previously had three TCR’s, when looking to change, (end of last year) I had a similar connundrum, I too fancied the look of the ‘dale, but the more I considered it, much more bike for the money with Giant, penny dropped. I bought a Propel.

I’d just like to add, last year at Gatcombe, in the Marshall’s defence (Votchy) a pair of young ladies were particularly vocal in their encouragement! Last climby bit if I recollect. Not too bad for us at new venue

I’ve found that by applying a good amount of direct pressure to the puncture site immediately after donation, and for longer than you might think appropriate, really minimises bruising, discomfort

Dare I even say it, but check out Evans website, I recently bought “Suplest” Mtb race shoes on a whim, and I love em, perfect for CX which it what they were bought for. There were road shoes also massively discounted.

Shane, we’ve done the descent to FC hut, interesting in a no grip in the mud kind of way, but as mentioned I was keen to clear Snaggletooth. I’m out the country for a bit, I’ll check it out in a few weeks. Cheers fella.
