I love seeing Cut Gate pop up on these things.  Makes all the effort we put into getting the slabs done worthwhile

Is the itv coverage always that ropey on the highlights?

Rotheringham is a place i must explore between Sheffield and Doncaster, and its nice to know Thorpe Hesley and Keppel’s Column are now in the Peak District

Lovely turn out on Lodge Lane five minutes from my house. Inspirational roofbar loading.

There’s a very tight, very steep bend that we all stood on. As one of the italian riders got to it he let out a very audible “f***ng hell”, which amused us all.

When/if Reform get seats, the scrutiny and resultant coverage will go up so significantly on them that I think they will buckle.

They’re a one topic party and that won’t be enough to carry them when they actually have accountability for a constituency.

I made it out of some planks and tree poles.  Cost about £20 for materials.

I put them around the field with IKEA bag ‘rivers’ and get them to bridge the river. No plank is allowed to touch the water cos they wash away obviously.

That kills 10 minutes of kids trying various things.  Then one realises they can share bits and they all come together and start the bigger build. So you make the river bigger with a tarp.

They were blown away when 6’2″ 13st me stood up on it earlier.

We have two more stations too – a crafting one for paper helicopters and a catapult/trebuchet one for a target competition.

Nobody died tonight. But brilliantly one lad I’m sure with have an autism diagnosis when he’s older really, really got into it and engaged with the build, and the kid with mobility challenges walked over it to a round of applause from the colony .

    Lovely evening.

I’m doing a Da Vinci session at Beavers tonight.

It’s really just an excuse to make paper helicopters, fire trebuchets and catapults and terrify the leaders by getting the whole Beaver colony to climb over a Da Vinci bridge they build IMG-20240511-WA0013

I once drove a remote control car into John Leslie’s foot. He scowled.

Also, at Nevis range few weeks back I was chatting to a couple of 50 something blokes who were hoping to do the blue but ended up just walking. They were posties from Lincolnshire apparently but were given free lift passes.  The shorter one said “you don’t recognise us do you?”

No idea. If you were/are famous, apologies.

I’m not hunting a different answer. First place said take it to Ford. Ford couldn’t do it for a month so I tried somewhere recommended by a Ford owner. I kept the Ford slot and when the second place said “take it to ford”, I took it to ford. Who couldn’t find owt.

then it died again, and the AA said “def not pump, 100% electrical”, then the auto electrical guy has said it was this lamda thing, then it wasn’t.

Pump we’ve had range from £300-£700. And everyone’s said “but it might not be that”

This is what has happened so far….

    GARAGE 1-

    ·         P0087 – fuel rail/system pressure too low

    ·         P0089 – fuel pressure regulator A performance

    ·         P0AOF – engine failed to start

    ·         P2540 – low pressure fuel system sensor circuit range/performance

    GARAGE 2

    ·         P2540-22 – Low fuel system sensor range performance

    ·         P0089-62 – fuel pressure regulator performance

    ·         P0087-62 – fuel rail pressure too low

    ·         P0A0F- 68 – engine failed to start

    ·         P215-62 – vehicle speed output shaft speed correlation

The second garage reset the codes. Drove the car for a short while but couldn’t recreate the issue.

    FORD GARAGE

    Couldn’t recreate the issue.

    BACK TO GARAGE 2

    – Full service.

    – Suggested dodgy fuel

Drove to Leeds. Set off back after the weekend….

    Cut out after 2 miles

What did the autoelectrician think? There are places who will test and repair ECUs for a reasonable sum.

    Next step ECU ~£1200.

He said it’s guess work now and chase and charge.  Probably best to get shut.

I didn’t hear anything but didn’t really know what I was listening for if I’m honest.

I’ve filed the tank with E10 and a bottle of redex (as well as 1/3 bottle of car lube injection cleaner)

I ran the car for an hour last night and it was fine. I’ve done 90 minutes tonight and it’s been fine. Tomorrow night I’m going to take it on a longer run up the motorway.

I’ll get it booked for fuel pump in the second garage, playing on their mistake in clearing the codes and giving Ford no starting point. My logic being that they’ll have to test it’s working after fitting and they’ll possibly literally flush out a problem if that’s not it.

Hopefully it’s some duff crap fuel that’s gone through the system, but that’s an optimist speaking.

No idea what else to do if I’m honest.

    Update: Ford didn’t charge me!

They said it’s likely the fuel pump but it might not be. Tasked me with running it lots to recreate the issue and then take it back if it does.

They said the other garage shouldn’t have deleted the codes.

I drove it home with no issue (30 mins) and I’m sitting in it running now and all seems fine.

Going to get it looked at by yet another independent

update: took it to ford with two sets of matching error codes from two independent garages. Helpfully the second garage had reset the codes.

    1) ford wouldn’t take the codes from the indies.

They Ford couldn’t recreate the issue even after (they say) running it for an hour. So I’m now looking at another £130 bill for diagnostics, a car with something duff in the fuel system, and a vague guess that it might be the fuel pump.

What the hell do i do now?

Re Hawley. He’s ok. Bit of a miserable so and  so when I see him mooching about the park. It’s just not worth the god like status bestowed on him by 6 I don’t think. Maybe I’m missing something but I can’t get beyond thinking he sounds like the organist at Peasholm Park at times
