**** sakes I went around 10meters down to road to see if it’s still making a noise which it’s not and I get grief from the typical stw members, chill out. again it’s going back just a simple question has anyone else had it, if you haven’t then you’ve no place hear, same as me, I’ve requested my account to be closed, sometimes you just don’t know what some people have going in life behind a computer screens, your words and comments may cause distress to people you are possibly unstable on suffering in life. enjoy your Audi’s and Santa cruz’s Boys, it’s been a good ride….. but I’ve got to go

I’m asking if anyone has had the same issue, I said I’m my first post it’s going back for a 6 week service, you must have ignored that bit, on the off chance someone could have some along and said yes, had that was just his needed greasing etc etc, doesn’t hurt to ask.. anyways thanks for your great input, like I said it’s going back, when I find out what it was I’ll make sure to keep it to myself, hopefully someone else will have this issue and I’ll have the opportunity to make a stupid reply too,

bit of an update, i was able to get this noise before ild even rode the bike, straight out of the box when i was setting sag, bunny hops to see if it would bottom out etc, ive done a bolt check from new and alls tight

went and did the same last night,  general hoon about in our road, jumping off kurb etc and it’s no longer doing it. i have however noticed a few spokes on the rear brake side very loose and wheel has very slight wobble, is this to be expected on a new bike? no sure weather to nip them up myself and ride it again to see if noise definitely gone and if all well have leisure lakes sort on my service  or pay my local bike shop to do it

I’m thinking about the same conversion, will the sunrace 11-50 work with s standard xt long cage m8000 mech without changing cage or b screw etc?

thanks, this says 55 links, guessing who created app counts an inner and outer plate as a link, i counted each plate as a link, so should be ok at its 110

another hemlock rider! I’ve a picture of a member bike with stealth routing, is the email address in your profile correct,. cc? ill send it over if so. this member had no issues with it

i also emailed cy, he said it wouldn’t be an issue but steel frames is a no and needs reinforcement. he stated to drill an 8mm hole 100mm above the center of the bb

i had the exact same thing last month, sent an rp23 to tf tuned, shaft worn and not available, recommend a db coil at £450.

mojo sorted me a float performance dps, added an evol can, firm tune £350, blows my pushed rp23 out the water

the ccdb is a second hand shock so I’ve no idea on the internals. ive had a measure on my frame snd any thing with a piggy back can is goiyto hit the frame or be very close, for my riding anything eitjya piggy back is probably overkill.

anyone got a Fox Float factory DPS Rear Shock?

ive done this, i had x2 with bt he older tech 2 lever, these where on my hemlock, i felt they lacked power. i replaced all seals, disc and pads but still not great, i did start a thread about it. i switched to hope tech 3 e4, they where the same weight but had so much more power and bite, i love them, i have put the x2 on my soul for xc duties

so it does seem that works is my only option. the frame is an early hemlock, has anyone fittes a 1 degree slackset to one, or any other bike, was it a noticeable difference

I’m using a zee on one of bikes, been fine for a few years but the quality is less than an xt but nothing has broken. I use it with a saint shifter and I find it needs a lot more force to shift than my st mech and xt shifter, is this normal? I have a radr cage waiting to go on thiat to use with a sun race 11/42

I swapped over to another saddle and did a few miles tonight and it’s still doing it, the start of the ride its silent, then starts slicking every now and then, get more frequent till it’s doing it at every small bump and it also gets louder

Thanks for all the replies, given me something to think about, must admit I have been a lot of threads here about faulty xt brakes, saying that I have some deore m525 which are many years old and only ever had pads and bleed, maybe it’s mister newer shimano brakes?

I’m not sure I would like a brake that’s very sharp to begin with, I owned some elixir 5 before and these had a lot of power but where just on and off, my x2 Have good modulation, just feel under powered on my hemlock, they are fine on my soul for xc riding. More power the more buoy pull just not enough, am going to look into the e4, they do look trick

I lubricate the pistons with hunters silicone lube, you can get it from plumbers merchant, it’s for lubricate seals on waste water pipe.

@ Dragon, I can’t see how the hemlock was a disaster. It was the first full suspension bike they made and it has a few small teething issues with the back end which as sorted over he years, cotic sent ‘re only manufacture to release a bike with teething issues. Chain stays used to snap on the first bikes, this was redesigned which fixed the issue, seat says used to flex on hard braking, New seat stays and rockers fixed this. The hemlock rides great, had mine for years and its a great do anything bike

Thanks for all the replies, am going to go for ones of these over an t rec etc. Not to work out what size front ring to get, my soul is 1×10 with a 36 on the front as its very flat here and a lot of fire roads between trails so need some top end speed. Other bike i use for UK trail centres, is a 36/42 ok for climbs?

I had some stans flow coming loose from New, has online shop who built them rebuild them and it happened again, took it to lbs who used nipple freeze and now have not needed anything for years, roll onto my crest rims which keep coming loose even with nipple freeze and multiple rebuilds, both only the rear wheel and only on the brake side. The crests spokes are tight but slaken off a lot when the tyre is inflated
