+1 for The Big Blue – you can’t go wrong with a Luc Besson film (Fifth Element excepted)

The more missions you do, the more stuff gets unlocked. Flying is awesome. :)

On the other hand, if we consider Rule #12, the correct number of bikes is n+1 (where n is the number of bikes currently owned), so yes you should get one.

    (Unless s-1 applies.)

Mrs Pondo is a teacher so we quite like to get away during half term for a bit of sun before winter embraces with its icy grasp. Last four years, we’ve been to Gran Canaria, Tenerife, then Mallorca twice – we’ve always been near the coast, Gran Canaria and Tenerife don’t seem to offer much other than that, unless you travel away from the coast, but Mallorca (especially up north) seems quite green and lush, prolly a bit more to do other than lie on a sun lounger or swim in the sea (which is all we do).

I like tennis, but I have a controller issue, if I’ve been playing for a while it keeps quitting me out of the game. Had same issue when casing a building on a mission, the “right” button on the D pad puts a pair of glasses on and the bl00dy things kept putting themselves on. Think it’s my controller rather than the game, might be temperature related – starts off fine but gets worse over time.

Saturday, at my cousin’s wedding – was cruising quite nicely until we pulled the trigger on Stellas for the last couple of pints. Like a mallet to the back of the head, that stuff.

… and Christine Odone is clearly not impressed

Well, she can do one, then – he’s right, as far as I’m concerned, and certainly better-qualified to speak on the subject than she is.

Dang – site blocked (reason: entertainment, which says something for how our filter monkeys rate STW…). I live in Brum and work in Banbury, I have tried using a variety of combinations of car, bike and train, but for ease and cost, I can’t beat the car. Using bike and train, even if I ride into New Street and from Banbury train station to work is more or less the same as just using the car, and adds a best part of a couple of hours onto my day. IF the trains are on time….

Oo – oo. Whilst riding a BMX to the airport, I bunnyhopped a wall to find a massive drop on the other side into the storm drain system. Rode that sucker out. 8)

Stupid work filter won’t let me view reviews on gaming sites, but the Telegraph has a rather spiffing account of it, if you’re in the same boat –

Royal Snail says it’s been delivered – just waiting for reception to stop nattering and let me know it’s there. :)

Had a little chuckle to myself at the comment on the Leopard Trek page –

    Fred Homburg
i can only hope that the press and all cycle fans arround the world wil remember that his vivtory in spain was the best thing that i have seen in years.

D’you know, in all the frenzy, I rather fear the press may have overlooked how much Mr Homburg enjoyed the race – I certainly haven’t seen it reported as widely as it should have been. :)

To be honest, if he HAD been in the hotel first thing this morning the day after winning a Grand Tour, I’d feel a litle bit let down.

Don’t get me wrong,I really want to see him to succeed ,but the likes of the VeloX team look as if they have done more than just theoretical and aero tests, before turning up at the event.

There’s a road near us, past the old Longbridge car factory, where there are ALWAYS flowers around the same tree, for probably six or eight years. Can’t help but feel that that’s not particularly healthy.

If you want cycle-related, I love – love – Michael Hutchinson’s The Hour. And it’s a biography rather than an autobiography, but In Search Of Robert Millar is fantastic. As is the David Millar one – racing through the night? Or dark, or seomthing?

I did – 95 miles done today, half three alarm for a half seven start this morning, finished at half three this afternoon and home about half seven. Tired. But got a KOM, so it’s all worthwhile.

One of my colleagues decided to ride in. 20 miles, not been on a bike in 10 years, got halfway to the office before she gave up and called a taxi to take her home, then called in sick Got to admire the attempt.

    Made my day. :)

Just to absolutely minimise, I guess. Says on CW he’s added weights to the front wheel and it felt a lot more stable. Such an interesting event – they’re all prototypes, so I guess there’s a whole bunch of on-the-fly problem-solving going on.

I got Luganos on my CAAD – my first road bike and only a couple of hundred miles so far, but they seem fine to me. Only traction issue was climbing out the saddle on damp tarmac under trees with my weight quite forward – no skids yet when stopping, and she turns on a dime bar in the dry.
